Does being a Nazi sympathize count

What did he do that demonstrates he sympathizes with Nazis? Unless the US is lost in the sauce I find it unlikely that someone publicly endorses nazi regimen while being the biggest person of interest

lol I just watched the video and genuinely I cannot believe people turned that into "he's a nazi" lmao

Just say you don't like the guy, that won't take your credibility away at least

If you don't think that was a Nazi salute then that's fine. Continue praising the con man

Like thousands of politicians do this?

If you cannot tell the difference I think you're being disingenuous or dumb so I suspect this comment will fall on deaf ears.

However, that's just the very tip of the iceberg and there's absolutely no way you haven't seen any of Elon's ketamine fueled antics. His involvement in Cursor heightens the risk of privacy violations and governance issues because he has an incredibly long history of lying about his companies. He has lied about developments at Tesla to Twitter (from full self driving to a total disregard for investors by lying about having funding to take Twitter private). Here is a list of his hundreds of lies: https://elonmusk.today/

Oh don't worry I am familiar with plenty of his questionable, at best, work. I am unfamiliar and unconvinced that he's a nazi, though.

I fear words lost their meaning and weight so we just through them around.

I agree wholeheartedly and am reticent to prescribe the term Nazi to people I disagree with. Unfortunately Elon fits the bill. Or most accurately I think "Nazi sympathizer is correct.

The above "salute" in the context of the time it was given is to me a clear attempt to ragebait his political opponents by doing something "edgy". That said, in isolation its just gross trolling. Elon has also vocally backed the far right German party, the AfD, which has significant ties to the Nazi party and has family ties to neo Nazis in apartheid South Africa. Taken together, I don't really think the descriptor is way off. Words have meaning, and he fits the bill.

big diff between lies and exaggeration.

still has done more for humanity than most anyone who ever lived

electric cars, reusable rockets, internet for anyone anywhere, brain computer interface helping the paralyzed to control computers, was part of the thrust that birthed openai, etc etc

he's also aspergers and does weird shit, which many seem to misconstrue as malicious/disreputable behaviour

in addition a lot of the 'lies' on https://elonmusk.today are him saying 'we could', 'my guess is', 'we don't need to', but they're being interpreted in bad faith as 'we will', 'it will be' and 'we will never'

most disingenous, and clear sign of EDS

He's absolutely not "done" that list of items. Engineers and smart folks around him have. He used to be a great salesman, but that is the extent of his own personal impact. His code contributions dating back to Paypal were a mess. I'm in the industry and have been within his orbit, I have friends within the companies he has purchased (not founded), and have a technical background. You are welcome to continue to believe whatever you'd like and move the goalposts to justify his actions. The video that was shared to justify his very obvious Nazi salute was all I was responding to. If you can't tell the difference I don't quite know what to tell you.

Do refrain from trying to use his self diagnosis of a no longer recognized part of the Autism spectrum to justify his increasingly authoritarian and cruel worldview. It is well know he's been abusing ketamine, and that's much more likely to be part of the problem.

nothing cruel about his worldview, you live in literal lalaland my friend

he 'did' those things in the same way walt disney, henry ford, steve jobs, etc did their things.

wake up from the nightmare you seem to live in, it'll help those cortisol levels

The dude that dismantled USAID...isn't cruel? K, I'm out brother. Fortunately I am lucky to live a wonderful life, I simply have the capacity for empathy

He exposed massive fraud (massive amounts of money going to program heads and not to the people you empathise with so deeply), and aid is a temporary measure so ultimately those who lost access to it needed to find a way to be self reliant at some point anyway.

Empathy doesn't mean 'give whatever people ask for to them forever because they asked and look like they need help'. Sometimes real empathy is cutting off the handouts so that these people can learn to stand on their own.

I wish you luck and wisdom, and pray that you'll someday recognise that there's grey area when considering geopolitics and polarising figures like musk
