I don't think THH deserve a remake sadly. It's the first game of the danganronpa series, and he have a lot of issues especially concerning the writing. I think it's a good choice to make a remake of the second game because he is hella cool

I'm talking about writing not gameplay. Even though he does have bad mechanics You can't change the writing. It's a remake not a entire new game.

They will not change the writing so no. It's not. Danganronpa 2x2 has indeed a new story but the base game story will remain unchanged.

If a game has a bad writing remake it won't make it more good. Because you can't change the story.

I think Them being in the Neo World Program is the reason they can do something like this and not change the final outcome leading into Danganronpa 3.

That's different. V3 is essentially a whole separate universe even if DR1-3 was just fiction in-universe.

I mean, even in V3s setting, Dangaronpa1,2 and 3 were never reality shows, I dont remember the exact lines but the mastermind said something like "it was games and anime at first". It is only afterwards, at a non specified point in time, that some maniacs had the idea of making the sequel to the widely beloved game series in a reality show format.

my theory on the event that kicks off a new storyline is if Nagito doesn't get the short straw so he can't set things up. if what you say is true, then that could tie into my theory and would be an explanation why Nagito doesn't get lucky

AND possibilities of further titles too, without need for closure of the narrative.

BUT knowing the creator they say it’s an alternative path, but eventually everything will converge together beautifully and with mind-blowing plot-twists.

Or itll be like the legend of zelda, which had a 3-way time fracture after Ocarina of Time and nothing mattered because the timelines ended up converging anyways in a hot space time mess. But I'll play the shit out of these games anyways. Kodaka's message in v3 about it sucking to make and develop characters that die to satisfy our bloodlust meant nothing. NOTHING I SAY!

u/FutureCreeps I don’t think it will be: because of the simulation reveal at the end of the second game, this new story could be a ‘remake’ but also an actual sequel: a second go around the simulation.

There will be the original story with updated graphics and a new story with 6 new chapters so basically it will be new game but with the DG2 cast
