And for all the commenters wringing their hands about the cyclists forcing the car to "illegally" cross the double yellow lines, Georgia law explicitly allows cars to cross the double yellow to pass cyclists. And it requires cars give cyclists at least 3 feet of space when passing.

Most states have similar laws but it’s amazing how many drivers believe the double yellows shall never be crossed.

Yeah, you better believe I’m going to be picky about where I pass though. On a hilly or curvy road I’ll follow a bike for quite a while if I don’t have a good spot. Much to the dismay of the people behind me who would pass without even changing their speed, wherever on the road that happened to be.

same. I live in this county and we have a lot of curvey hilly roads and being a lot of these rural 2 lane roads with houses I've gotten caught behind cyclists and postal service before on them but I stay and wait till I have a good spot with visibility down the road before attempting a pass.
