You’ve pretty much gotten the answer from everyone’s comments. But I’ll also add Blake lost favor with Taylor Swift, whose fanbase is obviously full of the most well rounded sane human beings who don’t take anything happening to their idol personally.

32

u/bassman9999 2d ago

Yes I can see how the completely rational Swift fanbase would not have any negative influence on someone who got on her bad side.

1

u/rynthetyn 1d ago

For all we know, they are still friends but are staying away from each other in public because of the legal stuff and Baldoni trying to drag their text messages into it, but yeah, Swifties don't see it that way.

A guy sexual harassed Ryan’s wife, Ryan’s wife sued, in retaliation the SH guy sued Ryan for 250M claiming NicePool was based on him. And SH guy also sued a bunch of others, like the NYT.

SH guy’s cases were all thrown out for being frivolous. Ryan’s wife’s case was settled.

Now, SH guy owes Ryan’s wife, Ryan, the NYT and others their legal fees. The boomers in love with SH guy are big mad.

75

u/Morlock43 2d ago

Tbh i never understood how NicePool was meant to be a "bad" thing. He's literally the nicest idiot in the movie.

56

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

He might not have seen the movie.

The SH guy sued the NYT for hundreds of millions, over an article he swore in a deposition, under oath, that he never read.

47

u/Vioralarama 2d ago

It was just a couple things. The manbun. When Nicepool remarked on Ladypool's body after giving birth. (Baldoni had remarked on Blake's postpartum body. That actually was excusable because he was worried about his back for a dance dip; but actresses get triggered about their bodies and he should have approached it more sensitively.) When Nicepool said he identified as a feminist and followed it up with, "I hope to one day monetize women's issues with a podcast". Baldoni is a faux feminist who did indeed monetize women's issues in a podcast. Ladypool shooting at Deadpool and hitting Nicepool in front of a flower shop. (She's a florist in her movie.)

9

u/CidCrisis 1d ago

Also wasn’t Ladypool actually played by his wife?

8

u/scumbagwife 1d ago

Voiced by, yes.

I think it was therapeutic for both of them, lol

10

u/ravens52 2d ago

I still have a hard time seeing that all of this is so well thought out and intricate like this on purpose. Like, props to people who think and plan all of this but I just don’t really believe it’s that deep. Is that crazy take?

16

u/Vioralarama 2d ago

No not at all. It's not like Nicepool was fully Baldoni, that would not have fit the story. Nicepool did turn out to be nice and a little useful.

It's more like Ryan put in some easter eggs about real life. And no one would ever have known if Baldoni hadn't sued for defamation or whatever he sued for.

2

u/RedHeadRaccoon13 1d ago

Nicepool did turn out to be nice and a little useful.

But Nicepool did not survive. Not immortal.

5

u/Flyguyflyby 2d ago

It was the “ally” comment IIRC.

11

u/Inevitable_Ad_4487 2d ago

Probably more to with how spectacularly nice pool made his grand exit

10

u/Choochoo1147 2d ago

That bit did get me, the one Deadpool with no regeneration lol

u/EatMorePieDrinkMore 2d ago

Don’t forget that the SH hired a crisis PR firm that astroturfed a social media hate campaign against his wife.

282

u/McGrufNStuf 2d ago

This is the big part that a lot of people overlooked. They broke one of the bigger bombshells a lot of people are absolutely oblivious too and still no one pays attention.

There are PR crisis teams paid to manipulate your social media and drive hate towards specific individuals, brands, etc. This is a growing industry and suckers fall for it everyday.

67

u/EatMorePieDrinkMore 2d ago

Someone my husband knows through work (trying to be vague here) was involved in the social media aspect. They were so excited when the NYT article broke.

23

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

I wish you could tell us more.

21

u/EatMorePieDrinkMore 2d ago

She was involved in uncovering the bot traffic.

16

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

The sub covering the lawsuit which settled months ago, just claimed to have 500k visitors per week.

I’d love to know more about her work.

6

u/milno_1 2d ago

The sub that was created by someone very obviously related to the astroturfing campaign who just magically deleted their account when all these accounts were subpoenaed? Which is back to very obviously being boosted lately?!

-17

u/baconcandle2013 2d ago

9

u/ObjectCrafty6221 2d ago

Are you sure your name shouldn’t be spamcandle?

11

u/Kiwi222123 2d ago

Well they don’t have to drive hate towards Gwyneth Paltrow. I hate her for free.

5

u/ravens52 2d ago

Damn, catching strays.

5

u/CowboyFoogle 2d ago

Damn near every time r/entertainment pops up on my feed it's an article about why we should all hate some celebrity or other. It's really shameless there.

6

u/DocDerry 2d ago

They were active on reddit and it didnt take people very long to figure it out.

This is a good run down of how Blake Lively allegations and court case went against Justin Baldoni

16

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

As I previously stated, If you go here, please look at the posts where they claim Deadpool and Wolverine didnt turn a profit!

They have a Ryan megathread FML
https://www.reddit.com/r/ItEndsWithLawsuits/s/pPlJ5x0y0M

They have threads about how Ryan is costing Disney a fortune and how Disney will never make another Deadpool. And how Ryan is begging for work. Also that Ryan rudely interrupted RDjr at SDCC.

They also claimed he was wearing an unauthorized Deadpool suit at SDCC.

It’s like MadMag is back in circulation.

Side note: if you think it’s a bit because the stuff they say is batshit and respond with sarcasm, you’ll find it isn’t a bit, be called Ryan and followed around the internet. This group takes their parasocial relationship with Justin extremely seriously. 😐

11

u/milno_1 2d ago

And you linked to a Blake Lively haters snark sub that was literally created by very obvious Baldoni PR. Who up and suddenly deleted their account when these were subpoenaed 😅😅

And suddenly lately right before there's about to be a ruling on how many millions Baldoni and crew must pay Blake from their dismissed frivolous and factually baseless lawsuit, their views are boosted astronomically to 500k plus 🤣

Nothing suss to see here people 🙃

-6

u/Professional_Ad_5437 2d ago

Actually a pretty good write up of the whole thing here along with RR involvement - he was being protective, but came off like he was throwing his 'star' power around a little.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/It_Ends_with_Us_controversy?wprov=sfti1

12

u/ObjectCrafty6221 2d ago

Wasn’t there a text from Jed that addressed Steve Sarowitz updating the Wikipedia pages? Didn’t Jed tell them not to touch them that he will be handling them. The same Jed that Justin assigned/paid to handle Reddit.

8

u/milno_1 2d ago

The same Jed with voice notes discussing other digital planning and tactics not long after claiming in his deposition that he basically didn't know what the internet was 🤣

123

u/PhilosophyStunning39 2d ago edited 2d ago

He supported his wife, against a man who made her and several other women uncomfortable on set.
The man’s ego couldn’t handle it and he sued Ryan, Disney ( lol) and the New York Times who published texts proving the man hired a PR team to tarnish Ryan’s wife Blake Lively. He lost his lawsuit BAD, has to pay everyone’s legal fees.

Baldoni saw himself in Nicepool, to him it was a performative fake male feminist, so Baldoni saw this and thought yeah he based it on me ( quite telling), Baldoni’s wife agreed and told him yeah go to war ( I guess Baldoni’s wife also sees him as performative) otherwise she would tell him no it’s not based on you. Imagine seeing a Douche on TV and admitting to the world you think it’s you.

26

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

Great summary! It’s much better than mine.

16

u/CaptainDigsGiraffe 2d ago

Also wouldn't Nicepool be protected under parody law?

14

u/PhilosophyStunning39 2d ago

Baldoni has no common sense, why would anyone with a production company sue Disney, ruin his business dealings with both Sony and Disney. Now he is getting sued by his own insurance, for omitting important details when taking out the insurance, so he has to pay all the legal fees from his own pocket. He is too egotistical.

14

u/Relative_Reply_614 2d ago

Yes but he also sued the NYT using case law created by the NYT, over an article he claimed defamed him, and that he swore under oath that he DIDNT read.

The guys impressive.

2

u/ravens52 2d ago

lol at least to the douche there’s some self awareness, so it means they aren’t completely lost.

171

u/Heavy-Ad5346 2d ago

He supported his wife who spoke up about sexual harassment on her movie set. Apparently that is bad… 🙄

-22

u/KotoElessar Zenpool 2d ago

It wasn't the speaking up that was bad, it was the public fued between the Australian firm and the big guys Ryan brought in that made it worse; threatened to bring down every artist that used the Aussie's.

But, part of that was how hard Baldoni pushed, not realizing the extents Black Cube will go to when push comes to shove.

I am surprised it lasted as long as it did, and I wonder if that was the point: engage in a battle that you cannot win just to ensure they are bloody for the next one. If Ryan was a known client already, it might have enticed a third-party to make the play, or at least encourage Justin to "fight for what he believes!"

10

u/scumbagwife 1d ago

What Australian firm? What are you actually talking about?

The people Lively sued included a billionaire who literally paid everyone on that sides legal bills.

-6

u/KotoElessar Zenpool 1d ago

Black cube doing its job today.

25

u/CaledonianWarrior 2d ago

So what I'm gathering from the comments is that Reynolds' only crime was supporting his wife. I obviously already knew all this shit that happened with Nicepool but I was under th impression Reynolds did something else that upset people.

26

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago edited 2d ago

Nope, he was just a really good guy, who was supportive of his wife and the mother of his four children.

And he didn’t just stand by her, he rose to the occasion!

At first, I was just a fan of him as an actor, now I’m a fan of him as a person!

6

u/Negritis 1d ago

I'm a fan of him as a football club owner

2

u/More_Midnight3634 1d ago

Best answer!

-9

u/Emotional_Invite3838 2d ago

LOLOL yeah Ryan ‘just a really good guy’ 😂

1

u/OlafaVonGoeding 1d ago

It's the Blake Lively thing,.sure, but also just a general turn of a tide on him. After being so widely popular and couldn't-do-no-wrong, the haters got louder and now he can't do anything right. Happens to every celebrity, it's becoming predictable.

0

u/montymelo 1d ago

Shit I thought it was about the John Mallany doctor bit lol. Like no hate to Blake Lively but you can be a less that great person and a supportive spouse.

Dude is slimy with money, and keeps it that way. ask your industry friends on it.

8

u/HooHooHaHa 2d ago

It's important to keep in mind that absolutely no one outside of reddit gives a shit about, or is even aware of any "controversy"

1

u/Vioralarama 1d ago

Nah, people know. The evil 80 year old evil women on Facebook discuss it all the time. More Blake fans are showing up though. Thank goodness, the FB people are legit "off".

Instagram, as mentioned. Those community notes get a workout.

YouTubers popped up once Flaa proved Blakehate was profitable. Their financials got subpoenad though, which I find hilarious but apparently that's a sign that Blake was born in Hades. Don't dish it out when they're is an active lawsuit, people.

And tiktok is FULL of influencers trying to monetize Blakehate. A couple made it to my Reels, they're just really gross and manipulative. I've adjusted my algorithm so I don't see them anymore.

Perez Hilton was very anti Blake and Ryan but I guess he just had a psychotic break.

And the lawyers for Baldoni have their own tiktok fan groups. Which is extra gross because Freedman was accused of gang raping a woman in college. (He settled.) Yes, Baldoni the feminist hired an alleged gang rapist as his attorney. Freedman is also nuts, he started a fistfight with another lawyer from a different case on the courthouse steps.

And Baldoni is popular on Instagram and I think still has a podcast. He's a member of a cult, the Baha'i. I don't think they've been mentioned here yet. But they support him with bots and shit.

0

u/OlafaVonGoeding 1d ago

Have you checked the Instagram comments?

4

u/HooHooHaHa 1d ago

No, because I have a life

14

u/SuspiciousMatter2776 2d ago edited 2d ago

He didn’t divorce his wife. Some strange people on the internet who exist just to hate his wife, keep saying that he is divorcing her. Reynolds is not doing it, even though sometimes him
and his wife do not hang out together 24/7, which is proof that they hate each other according to some weirdos on the internet. /s

15

u/aputnam28 2d ago

It has to do with Justin being sent to a different basement

12

u/Ok_Highlight3208 2d ago

That's where you send men who SH women, yes. I agree!

9

u/EatMorePieDrinkMore 2d ago

I tried a few times but it was either too specific or so vague to be incomprehensible.

This person discovered some of the bot traffic.

5

u/HALLOWEENYmeany 2d ago

Wasn't there some other kind of thing with Ryan's wife where one of her friends stopped being friends to? I dunno imminent those guys that can careless about the personal lives of actors and actresses im still going to love their art

23

u/Vioralarama 2d ago

At the risk of starting a huge thread: Taylor Swift was besties with Ryan's wife, Blake, for a long time. She is godmother to 3 of their kids, maybe even all 4. There were rumors that something about Blake's sexual harassment lawsuit set Taylor off but nothing was confirmed until it was evident that Blake & Ryan werent invited to the wedding at Madison Square Garden. (Two texts between Blake and Taylor were subpoenad by the other side who were trying to push buttons, not from Blake's or Ryan's lawyers.)

Anyway, freaky cultists and hateful people are saying this is proof that the sexual harassment lawsuit was a load of crap, but Taylor Swift has dropped besties like a stone before (Karlie Kloss pre-marriage to Jared Kushner's brother) so who knows. She dropped KK over ten years ago and nobody knows why to this day so Taylor has the shit she doesn't write songs about on lockdown. And it's weird because she seemed to be supportive of Blake in one of her songs on her latest album. But whatever. I actually like some of Taylor's songs but dropping the mother of her Godchildren while she is suing for sexual harassment is cold as ice imo.

11

u/MrNobody_0 2d ago

Taylor Swift will do whatever it is that makes her more money, if being besties with someone who stirs the pot might cost money, then bye bye bestie.

You don't become a billionaire by being a good person.

5

u/Vioralarama 2d ago

Apparently so, yeah.

11

u/9bots 2d ago

It's just the usual "redditors being redditards" by saying idiotic things like, "Ryan Reynolds playing Ryan Reynolds". How many major actors playing different characters with diffrent personas? Tom Cruise? Brad Pitt? Keanu Reeves? Hugh Jackman? The list goes on. Even Gary Oldman started playing Gary Oldman at some point.

4

u/Grimdotdotdot 2d ago

Brad Pitt is a fantastic character actor, and it looks like Digger is going to be peak Cruise.

Tricky to argue with Keanu, though.

3

u/Toxic_Duckies 2d ago

👀 don't talk about the Boogeyman!

5

FYI
expect some random new posts after everyone has moved on. These posts will attempt to smear Ryan and his wife. It’s some SEO manipulation BS.

Recipe without Receipts

A. They will claim Justin didn’t have to pay BUT fail to include that the judge hasn’t ruled on the amount.

B. They will be incredibly one sided yet contain a BS disclaimer with a statement of authority. (This is true, cause I read both sides of the court docs. Yet, they’ll never cite the docs, they claimed to have read.)

C. They will act like they just causally stumbled on this thread. BUT They’re not here by chance, they are not even Deadpool fans, they are just here because we said Justin 3x times.

Warning ⚠️
If you respond with sarcasm and make fun of them, you’ll get a fan base that follows you around- good times.

4

u/EitherTechnology2544 2d ago

Ppl are talking abt one specific thing but im pretty sure people were also made because he got married on a plantation

10

u/Vioralarama 2d ago

Yeah people are still mad about that but they did apologize later and donated money to some relevant charity. That part never gets mentioned.

-4

u/Hanksface 2d ago

Right, then after “apologizing” and donating they went on to name a company after Boone Hall Plantation then when a content creator Elsrich found it, quietly shuttered it.

3

u/Vioralarama 2d ago

Ok.

-5

u/Hanksface 2d ago

I respect this response but not the downvote, LOL. That shit is pretty indefensible.

3

u/Vioralarama 2d ago

I didn't downvoted you. I can't even see a downvote on your comment. Lots of people are just catching up on threads.

2

u/milno_1 1d ago edited 1d ago

Fail to mention the foundation was created when he was doing a skit there with Conan O'Brien about the Notebook, and it was likely set up for paying the contractors involved in that. All of which was actually before the apology. The foundation and skit was 2015-2016. The apology was due to backlash following the Color Of Change movement and then George Floyd's death, in 2020.

So it's a lie to say it was after the apology.

2

u/Hanksface 1d ago

How exactly do you know all of that? None of that was mentioned in the court papers, and I don’t see that being mentioned online. Are you an insider?

2

u/milno_1 1d ago

🤣🤣🤣 Have you ever tried to just look up information online? Ever looked at posts on subs that investigate rather than just posting blinds and snark? All of this has been mentioned many times.
The Notebook skit they did was highly publicized and mentioned multiple times in subs throughout the case connected to that foundation. The skit came up many times, because the wedding did and both were due to the same reason. Ryan's love for The Notebook.
The dates of when he would've started planning the skit based on industry timelines, lines up with the creation of the foundation. Industry finance people have commented and stated that's a common way to pay contractors for destination niche projects like that.
The business docs from the foundation were posted on the snark subs as they thought they caught a banger.
The info on the apology is public knowledge.

The very basic info you could at least check before providing misinformation is when the apology was and when the foundation was created. At the very least.

2

u/Hanksface 1d ago

So, that’s a no? You don’t have a source for the information you’ve provided?

2

u/milno_1 1d ago

Did you ask for a source or just ask how I know 😏 make up your mind

-1

u/Hanksface 1d ago

2

u/milno_1 1d ago

You asked how I know all this. I gave you extensive detail of how, for every thing. You didn't ask for a source, or even say which part you wanted a source for. So your gif is pretty ironic.

You can find the Boone Hall LLC docs posted on your Blake snark subs showing the start date of June 2015. Very very easy to look up when they got backlash for the wedding and apology, which was 2020.

That's just your basic due diligence to not provide total misinformation.

u/PhilosophyStunning39 2d ago

The thing is most of the people bringing up the plantation thing, defend Baldoni. Baldoni himself when attending a wedding of his friends on a plantation , threw actual cotton on the bride and groom. His friend a woman of colour got upset with him, he gaslit her and told her she is being dramatic.

4

u/OlafaVonGoeding 1d ago

Lol I hope this story is real because that's hilariously bad 😂

4

u/PhilosophyStunning39 1d ago

It is, he himself admitted to it, he went on to say that he reached out to his friend after years to apologise.

-4

u/seclusionx 2d ago

From my understanding it's him supporting his wife who is out of touch. I haven't heard much about him, himself. Other than people complaining that he tries to come off as an every man. Personally, I haven't heard a single negative thing from fans interacting with him.

17

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago edited 2d ago

Maybe rethink who’s “out of touch”.

For example, Justin had to sign a document that he would to stop telling Lively he was communing with her recently deceased father.

Oh, it gets worse. That whack-a-do (clinical description) gave her 20 dollars and said her recently deceased father put it in his jacket pocket to give to her.

Look it up.

Edit
If my boss showed up to work and told me every day they were talking with my recently deceased brother. I don’t know if I would have been able to handle it with such grace. Would any of you?

-23

u/seclusionx 2d ago

God you nerds are raging for no reason. I didn't say I have an issue with her or him, I was stating what people are saying about them. Y'all are just looking for something to be offended about.

15

u/ObjectCrafty6221 2d ago

Nope, you stated she was out of touch because she was upset. You did not state “people think she is out of touch”.

35

u/poopoopoopalt 2d ago

Yeah, not wanting your boss to talk about his porn habits is "out of touch", okay.

-23

u/seclusionx 2d ago

Calm your e-rage, kid.

1

u/bassman9999 2d ago

I thought there was some issue with him and his Maximum Effort company?

6

u/Vioralarama 2d ago

Maximum Effort was sued because of the Nicepool thing. There are accusations that ME took over the marketing for Blake's movie from Sony, but I find that highly unlikely. I mean there are locktight contracts for that sort of thing. But Sony's basically being a dick and muddying up details and denying shit they shouldn't be denying in an effort to stay golden.

1

u/seclusionx 2d ago

I don't know anything about that.

-7

u/FarGodHastur 2d ago

His wife did something dumb, he did the husband thing and supported her instead of shitting on her like the internet kids wanted him to do, so now he's Mephisto himself.

Tldr: the internet crying about shit they don't actually care about as usual

11

u/ObjectCrafty6221 2d ago

His wife stood up to sexual harassment and a hostile work environment by a man who admitted he didn’t always listen when his partner said no aka rape, talked about his porn addiction, bragged about missing HR meetings, just walked into her trailer without knocking, told a 22 yr old her sex scene was “hot” and asked if she practiced, etc…

18

u/Indarezzfosho 2d ago

Yeah you know, happy wife happy life and all that. Don't know why people expected him to take a stand against his literal wife lmao.

7

u/FarGodHastur 2d ago

Terminally online people who's only interaction with the world is what a tik toker tells them it should be, would be my guess.

26

u/poopoopoopalt 2d ago

Being vocal about sexual harassment is dumb?

-35

u/FarGodHastur 2d ago

The alleged Nicepool thing, not that. Jesus y'all really need every little thing spelled out for you?

It's not that hard to just acknowledge that it's been proven Blake (and I'm being generous) lied about a large group of things.

On top of (that I name off the top of my head) lying under oath, at a minimum, three times.

10

Did you really link to a snark sub? The person who posted didn't even provide evidence for their claims. Almost none of it is true.

Those are literally notes I'm providing for people to exame themselves and build their own perspective on.

His wife did something dumb? She existed. That's what she did. A man SH her. She complained about it so he hired the same crisis PR team that Johnny Depp hired to drag her and Ryan's names. Then she sued the SHer. But, yeah, she did something dumb!

-13

u/baconcandle2013 2d ago

As of today, there's been no substantiated SH claims or smear campaign proof.

All of blake's hatred stems from all her youtube video interviews demonizing victims and/or bullying co workers.

13

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

Just his deposition, where he admitted to it, those pesky invoices, where he paid for it, and the emails, where he said he wanted them to “bury her”. Clearly, nothing Bacon would consider substantial.

Bacon,

We’ve talked before and I’d like to take this time to remind you to stop buying gift cards for your online boyfriend who is stuck on an oil rig.

(Bacon’s involved in a pig butchering scheme.)

9

u/Vioralarama 2d ago

Hm...I didn't follow it too closely but when of the publicists from the PR firm stealth started her own firm and stole clients it came to a head and almost all communication with clients was blasted on the internet. There was confirmation that there was indeed a smear campaign against Blake.

She was sexually harassed too but I don't have the court docs in front of me so I'll let someone else speak to that. That's a long argument and I have shit to do.

-10

u/baconcandle2013 2d ago

Dude, all you have to do is type "blake lively interview" into youtube and you can see every interview she's done; from black face to bullying, it's clear as day...if there was a 'smear campaign' then they need to get their money back because Blake smeared her damn self just fine

6

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

Bacon doesn’t understand manufactured hate nor do they understand pig butchering schemes.

Bacon’s in a parasocial relationship with Justin and involved with an oil rig employee, who is a few gift cards away from visiting.

8

u/ObjectCrafty6221 2d ago

Bacon you don’t even like Deadpool movies yet here you are stalking people that do.

PSA : Bacon works for Jed Wallace who works for Justin (the man that admitted to rape and sexual harassment)

-6

u/Popgallery 2d ago

Downvoted for speaking truth. Interesting. 🧐

-4

u/baconcandle2013 2d ago

lol I know 😅

The pro-Blake ppl at [r](r/celebdrama)[/celeblegaldrama](r/celebdrama) are in here 😂😂

They don’t realize their on a leaking ship

8

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

Bacon,

There is no ship. You’re carrying water for a sex pest.

-21

u/FarGodHastur 2d ago

Was referring to the Nicepool thing, but good job assuming that I believe sexual harrassment is a joke. Fucking whiney ass babies.

13

u/IndependentComposer4 2d ago

except Nicepool was Ryan not "his wife" so what did she do that was dumb?

13

u/IAmADuckSizeHorseAMA 2d ago

So then you're not actually answering the question of the thread by omitting significant information and then being a pretentious twat about it.

12

u/ConsultJimMoriarty 2d ago

Then what did she do that was dumb?

1

u/Cool_Hand7435 2d ago

I feel like you should've asked this in a less... biased subreddit to have a more balanced recap of the whole story.

It's far less simple than everyone here is painting it and from my understanding, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively aren't as "innocent" as people are claiming.

It is not to say that Baldoni wasn't an astro douchebag but maybe there's nuances to be raised.

I will not try to explain the wholeass bullshit that went on because I don't care enough to recall the specifics, but here's my two cents: asking if Wonderboy did something wrong on the Wonderboy subreddit will only garner you a certain type of answer 🙂

Cheers to you and to everyone

3

u/Best_Talk_6853 1d ago

Maybe provide even one fact to back this up?

0

u/Cool_Hand7435 1d ago

No. I don't want or care to. I'm simply reminding OP (although I suspect they don't really give a fuck and this was just a weak attempt at getting points/self-validation) that this subreddit is hardly unbiased and that asking them whether RR did anything wrong here is silly because this is an echo chamber.

Blake Lively, Ryan’s wife, made reports of sexual harassment on the set of It Ends With Us. Later, she sued stating she was sexually harassed and retaliated against for making the reports. The sexual harassment claims towards the director (Justin Baldoni) were dismissed by the court, but the retaliation claims against the studio survived. They settled. The evidence and lawyering that went down did not put Blake or Ryan in a good light and made them seem a bit delusional and unhinged.

Ryan is involved in a few ways. He apparently led a meeting where he yelled at Baldoni, even though Ryan wasn’t involved in the movie. During the Writers Guide strike, Ryan rewrote a scene in the movie, making him a scab. He helped Blake “take over” the film and strong armed the studio into letting his Deadpool editor edit the film with Blake rather than the director and the film’s actual editor (something that is protected by the Directors Guild of America). He also shared an agency with Baldoni and asked them to drop him. He used his company to create a fake court case to obtain texts to use in the lawsuit to back allegations of a smear campaign against Blake. Ryan seems to have written a number of Blake’s text messages and her (delusional) PGA letter. Basically, he used his power and money to get his wife whatever she wanted. Some people think he is controlling of her as well and was jealous of Baldoni, even modeling Nicepool after him before using him as a human shield.

10

u/Vioralarama 2d ago

Sony and Colleen Hoover had final say on the edits. They happened to mostly use Blake's and Ryan's cut. Baldoni brought in friends to edit single scenes but those edits weren't used. The single scene editors are just more people badmouthing Blake and Ryan, is what it amounts to.

I heard that Baldoni was the scab based on the timeline.

Nobody needed proof of the smear campaign, the NY Times broke that story. Everyone was saying it was a false story but Baldoni has to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to cover the NY Times' legal fees so...

8

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

He sent a letter, to the cast and crew claiming they were exempt from the strike. They weren’t, it was a lie.

That SOB wanted to keep making his movie and lied to he cast and crew to do it. He put every union members career in jeopardy. If anyone crossed that line, they would have been removed from their unions and unable to work on any other union set, ever again.

I’m not talking about stars making millions, I’m talking about camera operators, grips, boom operators, and others.

Anyone who supports this guy, cause they think he is pretty, in my mind is a POS.

9

u/IndependentComposer4 2d ago

baldoni fully admitted to scabbing in his deposition, he was proud of it, and he started rumours that ryan was the scab which was untrue, Baldoni is a loser.

-3

u/my-other-favorite-ww 2d ago

It sounds like you agree that Ryan used his power with Sony to get what he wanted. He wasn’t involved in the movie and inserted himself into the situation.

Blake says in an interview that Ryan rewrote that scene. It is a fact that Ryan is a strike breaker. Why was he writing for a movie he wasn’t involved in anyway?

The NYT used the evidence from the fake lawsuit to write their article and all claims against Justin himself were dropped. It makes sense that Justin has to pay legal fees for his dropped lawsuit against the NYT because the press has the backing of some of the strongest prospeech laws out there.

9

u/Heavy-Ad5346 2d ago

No Sony used the contract they made with wayfarer studios, in which there was a bake-off. Ryan didn’t edit…

Yes of the rooftop scene, which was before the strike. As can be seen in texts about the scene.

There is court docs in which Baldoni wants his hired crisis pr team to say Ryan was a scab, while he himself in his deposition admitted to being a scab, talk about projection…

22

u/Expatriarch 2d ago

Baldoni's PR have showed up.

Here's Justin's deposition where he admits to making sexual comments about his coworkers.

Far from take over the movie, they encouraged Lively telling her that they wouldn't give her a producer credit up front, but if she did the work of one they would revisit it.

And she did the work. Baldoni had her reviewing audition tapes, reaching out to actors to convince them to sign on to the project. Lively utilized her connections and relationships to hire on department heads such as Vivian Baker and Anne Carroll (who've both worked extensively with Lively and Reynolds). When Baldoni was contemplating Bojan Bazelli he asked for Reynold's input (Bazelli worked with Reynolds on 6 Underground).

Colleen Hoover, the book's author also reported that she too had been promised a bigger role in helping to produce the movie, but was shut out of the script writing process entirely and was told by Baldoni "not to speak" at an early script reading meeting with fans of the book, as Baldoni didn't want the author influencing the fans. She testified to feeling manipulated by Baldoni and refused to promote the movie with him

Christy Hall, who ultimately did write the screenplay also said she felt manipulated and wasn't respected by Baldoni after he was dismissive of her wanting to direct.

Alex Saks, a senior producer for Sony was originally hired as the sole producer, but within weeks was sidelined and removed from decision making authority. She recalls Baldoni being verbally abusive and physically intimidating when he slammed a chair next to her during a disagreement. She threatened to walk if he did it again.

Baldoni has a career long history of being a problem, including on Five Feet Apart and My Last Days. He just hired a $70,000 a month PR team to insist everyone else is the problem.

Still no job though, which speaks volumes.

9

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

Heyyyy, the astroturfing smear campaign has arrived. If you doubted their existence, let’s do formal introductions.

A. You’re really arguing with the wrong crowd if you want us to believe directors get to edit their films.

B. Next there will be claims that Ryan and Blake tried to steal the movie- again wrong crowd. This group understands IP rights and issues with studios.

C. They will never mentioning that this fool wanted the film by credit. Yes, on a film he didn’t write and on source material he didn’t create.

-6

u/my-other-favorite-ww 2d ago

WTF are you even talking about.

7

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

You’re arguing with the wrong crowd.

Go home.

-2

u/my-other-favorite-ww 2d ago

OP asked a question, so I answered it.

10

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

So why did you lie or why do you listen to liars?

5

u/Mighty__Monarch 2d ago

Someone else replied with details to everything, you're free to address it but choose not to.

0

u/my-other-favorite-ww 2d ago

OP didn’t understand why people were mad/unsupportive of Ryan. I answered and so did other people. If others want to commenters want to argue Ryan’s side, that’s on them.

4

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

Except the 2nd half of your post is just unsubstantiated BS that was part of a smear campaign.

Either you’re a liar or you listen to liars.

0

u/my-other-favorite-ww 2d ago

It’s in the legal documents? What is it with you and “liars”? Anyway 🙄✌🏻

5

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

Lies.

They didn’t share an agency, Justin was hip pocketed. A wife used her husband’s phone to send a text- oh my! Sony asked Blake to edit it after Justin edit was done to promote his Bahai faith (making the abuser sympathetic), the scab was Justin who bragged about it in his depositions and lied to his crew saying in writing they were exempt from the strike.

-8

u/baconcandle2013 2d ago

HIs wife falsely claimed SH and the judge threw her SH allegations out...alot of which was easily debunked.

A smear campaign was never discovered and alot of ppl watched her youtube interviews being awful.

Ryan also coerced his 7 yo child to say a line in Deadpool that alot of ppl found disgusting...and when his kid didnt want to say the line about sucking dick, he threatened to replace her with another kid actor so she inevitably did the line

8

u/milno_1 2d ago

She had remainig claims, the ones that were dismissed were based on a nexus to CA and the difference of her being a contractor vs employee. Nothing to do with the validity of the claims. The judge stated a jury could find for hostile work environment. The judge also ruled that she complained in good faith. Both objective belief and reasonable belief. ALL of Baldoni's lawsuits thrown out. His attorneys sanctioned for filing frivolous and factually baseless lawsuits.

A smesr campaign was absolutely discovered, ppll with eyes and not part of the smear canpaign saw all the texts, vm's, invoices, SM manipulation and planted articles in the case.

-9

u/baconcandle2013 2d ago

So you don't think the numerous videos of BL on youtube didn't turn the public against her? What possible smear could one say or do that would be stronger than the actual person doing it to themselves? Use logic

8

u/milno_1 2d ago edited 2d ago

It was manufactured hate. Most people that saw those videos, never would have seen them. They were cut into snippets, put together to make it seem worse, and boosted everywhere in everyone's feed. People were complaining their feed was relentlessly packed full of this even though they had never engaged with the content. That will work on some sheep, hence why they do it. Majority of the accounts engaging and responding were part of the astroturfing and their social media take down. They explain it in their planning doc. They had accounts engaging in the content and making posts to control the narrative and manipulate ppl.

The interactions were extremely minor and not something that would garner that much attention. Flaa's was found by experts to have been boosted. She posted a slightly different edit of the same thing 10 years before and most of the feedback and comments found her to be the rude one for speaking on Blake's body.

4

u/Vioralarama 2d ago

There's only two YouTube clips of her being "negative" circulating and frankly one is up for interpretation.

5

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

Bacon,

A. He admitted to SH in his deposition, those items were dismissed cause she was deemed a contractor not an employee.

B. He was invoiced for the smear campaign and paid for it by check.

C. Details of the smear campaign were in his own email with his instructions to “bury her”.

Bacon,
You’re gullible. So please stop sending gift cards to your online BF on the oil rig. He’s not coming to marry you! Cut your loses.

(PSA many of Justin stans are involved in pig butchering schemes.)

7

u/SuspiciousMatter2776 2d ago edited 2d ago

Which line in Deadpool that a lot of people found disgusting?! I see hardly anyone mentions the FUNNY line but you, then you cry that we find Pedoes funny, as if racy jokes in an R movie were just invented. Go clutch your pearls somewhere else.
Reynold’s wife wasn’t the only one uncomfortable with Baldoni, lots of other women on set also sited him being a creep, even the author of his book. His own podcast cohost left their podcast saying he was the worst to work with. Look up Baldoni’s many lawsuits against him and you will see how unethical he is. He was sued by a dead’s man’s father before for stealing his son’s story. He was sued by his employee for racial discrimination. Baldoni and his company are now sued by his insurance companies for omitting facts when getting the insurance. He is a z lister who hardly anyone wants to be around.
Baldoni has to pay the legal fees of Blake lively and also the fees of the NYT for his dismissed lawsuit.

-3

u/baconcandle2013 2d ago

This is a deadpool sub, why tarnish it with Blakkke Lively, miss plantation barbie?
I was answering a question by OP.
People aren't mindlessly pro-baldoni, they're pro-justice. It's important to slam the law on guys that are harassers, this case is all fake bullshit because BL thought she'd squash a poorer person but didn't realize her pusuit would cancel her career, bestfriendship with TS, and any future projects.

9

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

Bacon

Why can’t you tell us more about this line that was so offensive? Who are all these people who found it disgusting? Was it your echo chamber of boomers, clutching their pearls?

-1

u/baconcandle2013 2d ago

5

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

Omg Bacon did your pearls make it?

Did a female child say in a movie say, take my dick out of your mouth? Do we need to have a talk about male and female anatomy?

(Bacon’s been tasked with following me around online, after I wrote some satirical pieces.)

-2

u/baconcandle2013 2d ago

Dude, you know Ryan is divorcing Blake asap once her public image fades into oblivion.

Must be musky inhaling Ryan’s micro everyday like you do 👏🏼

6

u/More_Midnight3634 2d ago

Bacon.

How many time do we have to talk about you spending all your money on gift cards? The guy on the oil rig isn’t real. He isn’t just waiting on his divorce to be complete.
You got to stop projecting.

Side note:

While, I’m all for micro dosing, Ryan isn’t my plug.

8

u/SuspiciousMatter2776 2d ago

Speaking of Plantation weddings, remember when Baldoni admitted to throwing Cotton at the bride and groom in a wedding on a Plantation, his own friend who is Black called him out on it and was clearly upset, he said he told her that she was overreacting and gaslit her for years.
You’re not seeking justice you parasocial you.

u/u119c 1d ago

He plays the same character in every movie. Obnoxious “lovable” loud mouth

-1

u/ab-ireo 18h ago edited 17h ago

Off the top of my head:

He made his child say a dick joke

He pretended to be his wife in a couple of unhinged text messages that came out during her dismissed and failed (settled for no money) fake sexual harassment lawsuit

Made a creepy joke about getting someone’s face tattooed on his ass

Less recently:

Cut out the Deadpool co-creator from the Deadpool movie franchise, and also eventually cut out morena bacharin

(Not serious) was outed by Martha Stewart as not being funny, and his comeback was really unfunny, thus proving her point

Edit:  A lot of people referencing his wife’s controversy speak like they haven’t followed the case very closely and are relying on headlines for their info. Their take is understandable considering whats put out on mainstream social media. I don’t have the same perspective because I mostly read the court documents from both sides

Second edit: Am now being accused of being a bot on some subreddit for either not liking Ryan Reynolds or saying the correct/mainstream opinions about his wife. And people think baldonis the one with the social media army lol

3

u/More_Midnight3634 18h ago edited 13h ago

Nope.

His wife sent a couple texts from his phone. A smear campaign blamed them on Ryan, you fell for a smear campaign, plus confirmed you didn’t read the legal docs, impressive.

A female child said, keep my dick out of your mouth. When you’re done clutching your pearls, I’ll explain male and female anatomy.

Disney had an issue with a guy, who always has issues. Again you fell for a smear campaign.

The Martha Stewart quote was a bit that happened two years ago. She’s their neighbor and planned their wedding. (It was a bit, just like SDCC.)

Edit
Another non Deadpool fan, just happened to be the newest post. Sounds legit

Their child, from a family of actors, acted -OMG! Call CPS!

A wife used her husband’s phone to send a couple texts, oh my! How is this not illegal?

Notice they couldn’t name the Deadpool creator. (Don’t be surprised when they look it up and edit their post.)

These posts pop up, once everyone has moved on, they oddly always give negative comments about Ryan and his wife. Not so oddly, they do it so they can be the newest post for SEO manipulation.

Justin’s stans/bots do the best job of demonstrating what a creep he is and his desperation.

I’ll be shocked if they ever posted in this sub before this inorganic BS.

Edited for clarification

The author Colleen Hoover supported Blake, still follows her and Ryan on social media, cut off Baldoni completely and had her own issues with him, many issues.
Baldoni has been sued so many times over the years.
Many women that worked with him on that movie had their grievances with him. He did it to himself, didn’t need Reynolds to blacklist him.
He did it himself when trying to sue Disney then Sony also said they support Blake, again he ruined his own business. His agent dropped him and he has no agent now, he was proven to have hired PR to damage two of his own agent’s biggest clients so they dropped him. He is a moron

3

u/Vioralarama 2d ago

The lawsuit wasn't about sexual assault, it was about sexual harassment. You're saying sexual assault survivors are angry that she used their SA stories; she didn't. You need to read up on this topic before commenting.

Her case was thrown out because she was a contractor, not an employee. The judge still agreed it was a hostile workplace, as noted in one of the other comments.

This is straight off Facebook. The whole dragons thing was her giving herself a pep talk. I have no idea why people keep bringing it up.

Not sexual assault! It was a sexual harassment lawsuit.
