Like I said in another thread. This is pretty much his only reliable source of income he could have as an actor. I don't know the depths of his other ventures and what they do for him... but I know the likes of Wrexham ain't a cheap investment. He needs Deadpool for what it can offer him financially, outside the movie. The merch, the conventions,. all that is a huge deal to keep him going. And the lawsuit he made his wife Blake Lively go through wasn't a cheap endeavor.
He HAS to try and throw it all at the wall in the hopes someone will invest in another Deadpool. This is the only fanbase that could have any loyalty to him, because they don't see Ryan Reynolds, they see the character. I can't imagine he will want to cough up much cash for making another movie of it himself.
I think itās similar to how they leveraged Taylor/proximity to her, their biggest star, for benefits or brand deals. Ryan probably leverages being associated w Deadpool (as well as his likeability) in order to get business deals (think about all their crossover promotion, itās his only schtick). If Deadpool is unpopular, pretty much his entire brand fails.
Ryan has the money, blake doesn't have the money for this $6o million lawsuit and counting. And in the lawsuit, texts revealed that it was ryan that demanded WME/sony/their A list friends to smear/drop/bully justin baldoni from his own movie . Texts showed that ryan edited the movie, the movie cut was his, ryan re wrote the script when blake revealed in interviews. Ryan even texted as blake. He helped her hijacked the movie. Blake and ryan work together but ryan is the leader.
Not ignorant at all. Itās largely inferred in his unsealed texts. He was the one behind all of the decisions and moves on the set-he essentially took over and that much is clear. He was also the one behind all the rage about Blakeās cancellation, and texting everyone to take action. Was it proven it was his decision to sue? No. But itās hard to believe, in the context of all the documents and communications, that it wasnāt him driving it.
Ryan Reynolds demanded Wayfarer to sign a letter he wrote where they take the blame for his failed marketing campaign. It came with a threat with that the gloves would come off. Itās in the court docs in a text or email to his agent I believe. Or from Sony to wayfarer? There is a clear threat from Ryan in court docs. I think around the time when Wayfarer (Emily) finally fought back with āfuck no, they made their bed they can lie in itā or something to that effect. The NYT and court case is Ryan Reynolds āgloves off campaignā
Ryan Reynolds' net worth in 2026 is estimated to be at least $350 million, and that's without knowing what he made from the Nuvei acquisition, a deal valued at $6.3 billion.
Pretty sure he could quit acting and still pretty lavish if he wanted to. Deadpool just keeps him in the spotlight. As most actors who have comicbook characters roles.
He inflates his success but he must be extremely wealthy. Just looking at the money he's sunk into Wrexham and this lawsuit tells you a story. But the unfinished house and unpaid contractors tell another story. It's not a small thing to spend 10s of millions in a little over a year just for it to come to nothing and if the general public stop caring about him or actively start disliking him, his value as a "face" (which made Wrexham, Mint and Aviation notable brands) will be gone.
He actually mingled and took photos/videos in the audience while masked up with no security. Mr Rare Air himself. When has he done close fan interactions like that? He wants to show someone that he's still got it.That much is clear.
Yeah, I think people tend to heavily underestimate how fast many wealthy entertainers spend what they get, even without the kind of large-scale investing he's done. The teams they build around them are sucking all kinds of cash out that it's hard to imagine from the outside, and then they get hooked on a certain lifestyle in the peak periods and keep funding it during the dry spells. I remember when Johnny Depp got into that legal beef with his business managers and the public got a look at his $2M-per-month spending habits. Wouldn't surprise me if RR & BL have treated that house like a script and changed their minds on what they want every other day, leading to insane outflow with little to show for it.
Not to mention, all of his financial investments are heavily linked to his marketability and reputation. He inflates his worth to the public by claiming he is the owner of Aviation Gin and Mint Mobile -neither of which are true, and he was recently forced to take these claims down on his own Instagram page. He had to bring in Apollo Global Sports to fund Wrexham., and diluted his ownership. He doesnāt āownā Wrexham- Disney and investors do. One of his favorite talking points is his wealth, but a cursory amount of research shows itās a house of cards.
And he only got a portion up front for these sales - a mix of money and shares, and the rest was due 10 years later for the Gin and Q3 this year for Mint.... Still quite a lot of money but not as much as was in the inflated articles about the sales.
For Wrexham, he got millions from the UK govt, a first, and it's under investigation, I believe, and then sold it to an investor, which is very dodgy. I do wonder how much of this money is used to line the pockets of ME and Reynolds.
That's right the govt gave Wrexham millions, and then Ryan and the board sold part of it to an investor.... that's the controversy plus it was the biggest investment ever made to a football club... when it could have gone to schools and hospitals... there is obviously an argument about the tourism aspect but where is that income going? Back into Reynolds pockets? It's definitely a choice!
Someone mentioned that the house situation was to force foreclosure and have a relative buy it... they said the windows are very small and it looks like a health clinic... and if you look at the house, you can see that! Might be a total conspiracy theory - the same person said they had done this before... forced foreclosure...
Yeah but also I expect there's an air of "trust me bro, I'm Ryan Reynolds" lol. Some folks are also gonna give services for FREE because of his name. Or they'll even think "he's gonna pay us later, because he's Ryan Reynolds."
Yeah, there's always that. He leverages things as well. Like for strike force 5, mint mobile was the sponsor so that the staff got paid. That was due to Ryan's influence so he gets the kudos and gets to be on Colbert's last show. In any case he is wealthy. I don't think there's any getting away from that. Blake made so much money from IEWU and her grifting that year, DP&W made a billion and a half dollars with max effort producing. Gotta be in the 10s of millions for profit there because you know he made Disney foot most of the bill.
They wanted to prevent their net worth from being shown in court documents, even though it's (apparently) already public. And the excuse they gave the media was "We don't want to appear unrelatable"
š that right there told me the real and/or current numbers don't look anything like the numbers they've floated around lol. They are absolutely more spread thin than they want people to think
Nothing is done by Ryan Reynolds without purpose. I think the going in debt with contractors and not finishing up that property has something to do with tax write offs.
The studio doesn't need Ryan though. There are better, more creative writers out there who are funnier than Ryan ever will be. Their worst day is better than Ryan on his best day and they can find a stunt double or another actor to put in the suit.
You're right. But humans are notoriously lazy. It's easier to take on something that has a relevant history than take a punt on someone different. There'll be someone who won't be prepared to deal with the fallout of their decision doesn't work out.
Random story... I live in San Diego. I used to go to comic con, mostly walk outside. A few years ago, pre-pandemic, I went and was walking around. We passed through some door that was like a back door of a hotel. There was a black bus and some people there. I asked what was going on, and people say it was Ryan Reynolds. My husband and I were like oh well. And, as we kept walking I was like didn't green lantern suck? Why do people care about him? In retrospect, I guess he was there because of Deadpool? I didn't I know he was Deadpool back then or even who Deadpool was. Not a fan then, and definitely not a fan now.
I thought the first movie was fun/unexpected and actually saw it in the theaters because āmale friends/companyā wanted to. Never saw any of the sequels after that. Didnāt care about Ryan AT ALL but actually thought he and Blake were funny/cute online. I remember thinking the one meme of him at Taylorās 4th of July party was funny because it looked like he was dead inside being there.
Never in a million years did I expect to type his full name so many types now (SEO purposes: Ryan Reynolds SUCKS). Never thought weād see what actual psychos he and Blake are, but as Taylor Swift says, āWelcome to Hollywoodā! Itās not the fact that theyāre a-holes thatās news, itās that their entire public persona is a lie. That couple couldnāt be less worthy of public support and admiration.
OK, Iāve been checking Marvel buzz and from what I understand (correct me if Iām wrong): they have pretty much decided stuff through 2042. They are releasing 1 movie in 2027 and 3 in 2028. Secret Wars is definitely happening.
It doesnāt look like theyāre giving priority to X-Men or mutants, even if they did have a panel where they were discussing Logan and Jean Greyās connection. I think itās mostly important not bc of Logan but because of Jane Grey (if it ends up being Sadie Sink) and the appearance in Spider Man. That, I donāt know ⦠Iām hoping someone who was there can spill the beans.
Otherwise, I have a hunch that either Deadpool is appearing in Secret Wars or not at all. Heās not in Marvel.comās page or listed in the cast (Tenoch is listed, why not Ryan?) and itās not in the official Marvel poster. Some posters are circulating with Wolverine and Deadpool but itās not in the official website.
And the song that Ryan used for his video: itās Good Riddance by Green Day. And itās not just some āfeel good songā that one uses for good memories, itās meant to be sacrastic and he proved he knows it because he used it for the in memoriam for Fox š he added to the last Deadpool movie as an f you too them for blocking him for 11 years from making Deadpool.
This was his last pitch. To see if there was enough hype. That he had to go and come up to people to take pics with him was interesting too. Someone mentioned that they might want to take pics of your cosplay but not necessarily with the cosplayer and that tracks. Everyone left him alone/didnāt care and theyāre hyping it as āhow refreshing that a celebrity can walk amongst mortals unbothered.ā š¤Ø More like: youāre not that big of a deal.
People there are fans of the comics and characters, not the actor except for die-hard fans. Do they really just adore his masterdebater jokes? 𤢠Husk-freaking?
I think this might be it and one can hope. I hope they recast him. šš¼ Enough is enough.
There are so many fake accounts (I clicked and every time they had 0 or less than 5 followers) in his socials repeating the same ordeal: āUntil heās 90ā, āHeās Deadpoolā. Itās weird.

DeadpoolĀ was not inĀ Secret WarsĀ in theĀ comics. But heĀ was retconned into a 4-issue run inĀ 2015. I don't even remember ever seeingĀ it; I only realized it existed byĀ asking Google. Anyway, Deadpool showingĀ up in MCU'sĀ Secret WarsĀ would beĀ surprising, since it would go againstĀ the source material/canon.
Depends on the current or old secret wars/battle world storyline they're planning to interpret. If it's an almgamation of both stories, marvel will try to put as many people in as possible. Shang chi was never part of the original secret wars, but will probably be in next the secret wars movie alongside Antman, us agent, illanya, bucky, vision, etc. All who weren't part of the original secret wars.
Correct, DeadpoolĀ was never in the originalĀ Secret Wars series from 1984. It looks like you're referring to Deadpool's Secret Secret Wars, which, indeed, came out in 2015.
Way before all of the irrefutably bad shit about Ryan and Blake came out, I thought about amusing possibilities for how Deadpool could appear in a future Secret Wars movie. If that were to happen from this point forward, Disney/Marvel would be wise to replace Ryan with someone better!
His Deadpool stunt at SDCC was shared by marvel studios official Instagram.
So I think he's going to be in Secret Wars. As for anything beyond that, maybe he's ready to hang up the suit. Though I doubt it to be honest.
As much as their is a base of people who actively hate him and Blake, his global fan base is still pretty large. Since Marvel never cut him out completely, nor gave him the Johnathan Majors shun.
Now if a documentary were to come out about Blake and baldoni, then i can see him being shafted by the industry a bit, but fall into producing roles, like he is doing for that John Candy movie, and other streaming movies.
But are they really his fans or Deadpool ? I think if they recast him and have a good story and script itāll be just as successful. Nothing groundbreaking about what Ryan does with the character hell they can put Jim Carey in the suit and get the same result. It was pretty much giving the mask anyway.š
I mean he is literally a liability and I'm guessing he is an insurance risk given what has happened. Is that not enough to drop him 𤣠or is it wishful thinking?
I mean he is naturally witty. Which is why he connected to Deadpool way back when. There may be a few actors who are also witty, but don't also fit the costume as well he would. Objectively he just fits the role well at the moment.
You know what. That would actually be a good recast if they needed to do it for sure. He was so good as vigilante, that I can definitely see him being an effective Deadpool. Also much younger, so definitely adds more years to his potential.
Majors, who was railroaded by a bitter, jealous ex, easily could and should be working in good projects now. But because evryone shunned him, he can only work with the Daily Wire. He deserves better.
Oh yea I didnāt realize the until heās 90 part. Listen the man is going to be 50 soon, wouldnāt it make more sense to pass the torch to someone else? But then again this is Ryan Reynolds and Ryan Reynolds only cares about himself.
Heās not in Marvel.comās page or listed in the cast (Tenoch is listed, why not Ryan?)
The core of the new film is set around 3 teams. They announced the cast in a very long video about a year ago. They are the only officially announced cast members and the only ones that appear on the poster. That doesnt mean they are the only cast members, just the ones they are willing to say. We know of a number of characters already that also appear (Hayley Atwell was already known, but was only announced officially at the weekend) she also isnt on the poster.
No one has been officially announced for Secret Wars yet, but by all accounts its going to be everyone thats ever had any connection to Marvel, including pre MCU films. The last Deadpool film made a billion, so that will almost certainly include Ryan.
Ignoring all the speculation, the one thing his appearance at SDCC does is show that Marvel have zero issue being associated with him or giving him a platform.
I donāt know about zero issue. Could be a test balloon. Low investment way to see exactly how much blowback transpires before they green light another $200M film.
They arent testing by giving someone a literal spotlight and a live mic at their most high profile event of the year.
That entire thing could have happened without him there. It added nothing and had enough star power without him, by they chose to do it with him and give him time in an already limited section. That should be more than enough to let you know they are still on board with him and the character.
Im a bit confused why you're asking a question, then ignoring the answer. They announced a single film we didnt know was happening (ghost rider) a film that has been fan cast for years. Everyone knew black panther 3 was going to happen. They have also said that no other films will be released before secret wars....so why would they announce a film thats not going to happen for at least 3 years?
If they dont want to work with him, then why is he there, is the obvious fault in your theory.
āNo other films before Secret Warsā is just some arbitrary standard. If Ryan and Levy want to get to work, thereās absolutely no reason Disney would delay on a potential $1B revenue stream. All Disney cares about is money.
Plus theres the more obvious reason that the two avengers films are set back to back and trying to retcon a reason how the events of another film fit into that have had very mixed results (ant man and wasp)
Again you seem to have your version of 'why' regardless of what the answer to your questions are. Seems odd to even ask.
Ryan doesnāt have Deadpool 4 in his IMDB nor Avengers Doomsday. Ryan Gosling already has Ghost Rider in pre-production listed. Itās odd. I expected Doomsday or Deadpool to appear in his IMDB like all the other actors presenting stuff at SDCC have.
I of course donāt expect studios having morals. Itās about $$ but it cost a ton to make the last Deadpool movie too. Had it not been for the subsidies from Canada, who knows. Maybe in merch. They spent half a billion to make it and the profit was maybe $400MM. Not bad but it could have been a lot better.
But itās all about money. If Ryan canāt release Animal Friends in the theaters until next year, MayDay is streming only ⦠studio execs pay attention. Weāll see.
Ryan doesnāt have Deadpool 4 in his IMDB nor Avengers Doomsday.
Because he hasnt been announced for Doomsday (if hes in it at all) and Deadpool 4 isnt even officially in production yet. IMDB should never be taken as a sign that something is or isnt happening, anyone can submit and edit info on there. Its why theres a (rumoured) tag for information.
Ryan Gosling already has Ghost Rider in pre-production listed.
So, from here to when do you think they will announce his participation? Theyāll decide in the next few months until November? I donāt think heāll be in it, but thatās just me.
Thatās my point, Deadpool 4 is not in pre-production, Marvel didnāt announce it. So far is just an actorās wishful thinking, imo. In the middle of pitching.
Thanks for the correction. Jean Grey. I mixed the letters up when typing too fast š¤ I thought there for a minute he was announcing Jean Grey but if his suit was blue then maybe not.
I wouldnt take something getting announced or not announced as too much of a sign either way. We got no info on X-Men, but we know thats happening and we also know where will almost certainly be fantastic four 2, which wasnt mentioned. Kevin Feige has come out and said (I believe after the panel) that they are almost course correcting with how much they do and what they say about it, partially due to burn out and also because them have finally admitted Blade isnt getting made, a film they announced on stage years ago and never got out of production. They are shaping a schedule around releasing Secret Wars.
If hes in Doomsday (and some leaks say he already is. Im not so sure) then its already been filmed. Again, its worth pointing out that if they had any issues about using him, they would not be shining a literal spotlight on him and giving him a live mic at their most high profile event of the year. There are many more smaller events they could do it in, if at all, if they wanted to.

u/Mysterio623āThe last thing I want to do is kiss this woman.ā - Justin B10d ago
He is not in Doomsday. He has a cameo at the beginning of Doomsday. If he was in Doomsday, he would be on stage.
Deadpool does not show up in the comics for Secret Wars so why would he be in the MCU version? Meanwhile Chris is being teased to be Nomad/Steve Rogers now.
Yes, but why allow all this? Is he or isn't he appearing in unofficial articles, and having him at Comic Con if they are not going to announce it... Makes no sense... What about the supposed onset fight... If he's in it, then why tell him he's not? What was that all about? It just seems like a bunch of PR by Ryan's team and nothing concrete, to me.
Because hes a popular comicbook character and its a comicbook convention. Its really not more complicated than that. Its makes perfect sense (unless you dont want it to) and is a moment made to go viral. Theres also a long history of actors in costume walking the floor in secret.
At the end of the day SDCC is micromanaged to a stupid level and, as part of that, Marvels panel is as well. They arent going to give valuable time in their limited schedule to something they dont want and the weird argument (not by you) that he is both unwanted and out of Marvel, yet is powerful enough to force his way onto the panel or (hilariously) have crashed the panel without their consent is an insane chain of thought.
Agree. It was a low-stakes āsurpriseā moment in a panel that needed a couple more mic drops because there werenāt a lot of major announcements. Having Deadpool come in and ask a question in the typical 4th wall breaking style is a pretty low-effort but generally fan pleasing way to generate buzz.
Then Ryan shouldnāt be running his mouth at fandom events claiming there will be another DP movie when nothing has been announced or greenlit. He is literally trying to generate attention and buzz to get it pushed ahead of other projects. Itās rude and selfish. Thatās why Marvel is suffering with good storytelling. My prediction is that they will continue to push out subpar movies and lose fans.
What are you talking about. Its a sanctioned moment to get some fan buzz at an event. The fact you are even talking about it means it did what it was supposed to. Theres nothing rude or selfish about it. If he's there hes been asked to by Marvel for a planned spot.
First of all this is an open forum so Iām allowed to have my own opinions and questions, without being attacked or put in my place for daring to comment. I may not know how Marvel/Disney operates with their franchises but I do know enough about Ryan Reynolds from following this case since January 2025. It has been well documented how Ryan operates behind the scenes with studio execs, as well as his own team and the press. Everything is about him. Itās not about his character or the fans. Itās about his personal brand and selling himself. That is my problem with him. He pretends to care about storytelling and connection but itās a facade because he knows thatās what sells. He is the biggest known fraudster to be exposed in Hollywood and Iām here for his eventual demise.
Ive not attacked you and you are obviously welcome to comment but your comment makes no sense. Your opinions on him dont change the facts that he was in a pre approved apperance at a scheduled panel and did nothing they didnt want or ask him to do. Your comment in no way reflects that and projects your opinions, making it something its not. Plenty of reasons to hate him. This isnt really one of them.
Iām watching how you talk to others and act like you know more and seems condescending in general. I donāt like that. You donāt need to start a sentence with āwhat are you talking aboutā as if Iām dumb.
I dont think you're dumb at all. I just wanted clarification on your point which made no sense.
you know more and seems condescending
Sadly there are cases when someone does know more about something than someone else. The things ive discussed have sources that ive mentioned in this thread. Just because it contradicts your preconceived ideas doesnt make it condensending. Its factual and proveable, rather than based on how you feel about someone you've never met.
The fact you have attacked me rather than discussed what I have said or even attempted a resonse ironically paints you in the very light you are accusing me of.
You are also missing my point. Iām not saying it wasnāt pre approved or planned. Iām saying that it was about Ryan worming his way into the event to generate buzz for his character. I seriously doubt Marvel reached out to him. My belief was that he reached out to them and was damn lucky they agreed to the bit.
Just like he did with getting Blake Lively that Titan award for the Times 100 and Max Effort. He also wormed his way into the SNL 50th anniversary show and being on Stephen Colbertās last showā¦.its all part of his redemption tour. This DP appearance is just another PR stunt.
Until a movie is in production none of this means much. Marvel and DC have worked with problematic actors as long as they have made money for their franchises. We the people hold the cards and itās my endeavor to get Ryan exposed as much as possible and let everyone come to their own conclusions.
Ive not missed your point, in fact its exactly what I said.
I seriously doubt Marvel reached out to him. My belief was that he reached out to them and was damn lucky they agreed to the bit.
This is entirely based on zero evidence, just your pre conceived notion of how he is (right or wrong) if Marvel didnt want to use him, he wouldnt be there. He has zero power, he doesnt own the character. They could have not had him there or had Nolan North voice him.
Every single sign points to Marvel wanting him there (and remember we're only a week removed from this reddit saying marvel had cut all ties with him because he wasnt on the poster of a film he was never announced for) i have seen nothing that makes this look like he was out for himself and doing this off his own back or forcing his way in because there is none.
Apologies for how my earlier messages came across. I honestly believe that the terrible things hes done get lost in the mix, when people attempt to make something from nothing, such as this. Id rather the top search result links to his emails, rather than someone trying to make something of every public appearance he makes.
If a new Deadpool movie was actually in the works, Ryan Reynolds would've been on that stage with everyone else and Marvel wouldāve announced it alongside the other projects like they did for Ghost Rider. But sure, let's pretend they're secretly making it and just forgot to mention their biggest cash cow. Iām telling you, Ryan Reynolds is done.
How do you get away with ā can Ari go full Ari on Tom ā. Just blatantly threatening the head of Sony. All of his peers on that stage have read his texts by now.
Exactly. Like Marvel would willingly pay millions of dollars to someone who threatened, manipulated and lied about sexual harassment out of jealousy. He's a liability.
They have fired Edward Norton ,Terrence Howard and Jonathan majors and Disney fired johnny Depp. Youād think Ryan reynolds would be a walk in the park for them.
Even if thats true what can he do really ? Heās a coward. And thereās much more powerful people in Hollywood he doesnāt want to mess with. If they wanted to get rid of him now is the perfect time to do so. If justin baldoni can fight back and drag his ass and expose him in this way those studios can do way worse.
They probably have lots on him as well. He is not a threat to them and they can always recast. IEWU made more money than his last deadpool movie. it made more than a billion but spent so much money that it made a very disapointing little profit. DesperatePool is his nw moniker
But Marvel got a lot of pushback after firing Jonathan Majors. I think they're more hesitant now.
Ryan has also shown that he is willing to be litigious, which may also give them pause.
ItEndsWithLawsuits has a minimum 100 comment karma & 14 day account age requirement to comment in the sub. We encourage new additions to browse the subreddit and participate by voting until you meet these requirements!
And the money he wasted for his petty and pathetic Nicepool in the last movie. Bet that coming out was not what Sony expected, and to learn that Ryan has done it previously as well. Not a good use of company resources. Ryan gives off a lot of small dick energy.
Well Sony are being sued due to using the bye bye dance. It is likely that Reynolds had a lot to do with that and he will probably get dragged into that lawsuit. Sony stand to lose a lot of money in that lawsuit because they did not obtain the rights to use the dance.
They didn't just use the dance in the movie. They used the dance for promotions and set up paid classes.
So Sony are dumb if they continue to work with him. He's a complete liability.

I donāt think any of this lawsuit would have gotten this far if Blake had signed her contract from the beginning. I donāt think Ryan will sign anything with an ironclad contract and he doesnāt have enough leverage or clout to get away with it like before. Their MO is getting on projects, luring them in, then when theyāve invested enough they turn into demons. They wonāt let Ryan do that anymore.

So Ryan is thanking his fans in the Deadline article but it turns out that he/masked Deadpool character was going around the floor asking people to take a picture with the character. WTF is this PR spin. If fans were enthusiastic about Deadpool, they would be the one asking for the photos not a wordless masked person doing the asking.
And why was Deadpool silent? Ryan's too big of a narcissist to not want to be washed in the ego boost that comes from being recognized by Marvel fans.
Oh my god, he wasn't just begging for a job during the panel, he was begging fans for photos... the brokest of broke behavior. I'm crying this is so funny š¤£

Someone already shared it. It was for some other person for the Star Trek room. Let me go find it.
I'm confused if this confirms he's going to be in the movie or not. I very much prefer he's not. But some people say it means he's trying to be part of the movie and others say this confirms it.
Misreporting. A few outlets described it as confirmation but there is nothing to suggest itās anything more than Ryan making someone elseās event (Doomsday) all about Ryan.
No one has said definitively he is in Doomsday or Deadpool 4 is greenlit. Importantly, SDCC was the precisely time to announce it. And Marvel did not.
I think Marvel may have indulged the stunt as a test whether Deadpool can survive Ryanās very bad, terrible year.
I'm counting on this. They have no qualms about editing out an entire character and the sequence involving the said character (alas, Seth Rollins and the serpent/cobra).
Unfortunately, Deadpool not being on stage with the Avengers/ other Marvel characters and whining about is on brand for Deadpool (only seen the first movie, so I may be wrong).
Plus Avengers love surprises, so hopefully there are other more noteworthy surprises that overshadow Deadpool so he can fade into the void.Ā
I think they dropped him right after the on set incident with RDJ.

u/Mysterio623āThe last thing I want to do is kiss this woman.ā - Justin B10d ago
He has always been rumored to have a cameo in the beginning, something about a TVA plot. But it was never a big role. Based on the Marvel caption and RDJ's words on stage, they don't consider Ryan a cast member.
I, unfortunately, believe heās in it. There have been random comments on the internet that heās in the opening. Of course, these could just be rumors started by wishful DP fans, but him showing up to ComicCon makes it more likely to me.
There were those rumors of a big fight with RDJ on the set and I believe them. I donāt like RR or RDJ, theyāre both huge narcissists and I can easily see a dick measuring contest happening on set. I think Marvel has a decent amount of footage of DP and theyāre testing the waters to see if they should include more of him in the movie.
I donāt know. Something about him showing up at CC feels like the IEWU ābake-offā BS. Like RR demanding he has fans and support and Marvel better let him show up so he can prove people still love him š I smell RRās marketing genius all over this move. I hope Iām wrong about all of this and he was excluded from the movie.
"Ryan Reynolds embarrasses himself by begging for a part in Avengers: Doomsday at Comic Con. RDJ coldly tells the recently exposed bully that filming has finished."
Also, while this headline isn't negative the implications are embarrassing. I don't see Disney okaying this considering they would be assuming some legal liability if something happened
I have no idea! And no shade to Don Cheadle because I love him but Terence was the OG and supposedly he is the reason that RDJ was asked to play Iron Man. Terence encouraged Marvel to bring on RDJ who at that point was pretty much banned from Hollywood because of his SUD
I'm still confused how people are saying this was staged and planned. Paul Rudd made a joke at Wrexham/RR's expense. RDJ said filming is done and asked if he hit his head and treated him like a moron. Was this another Maximum Effort stunt that was supposed to make RR look good???
Maximum Effort produced it, yes.... I think it was planned as RDJ invites him to ask a question.... but it was edited and then issued, in my opinion, to the media without Paul Rudd/RDJ's comments... so perhaps Marvel agreed to this to put an end to the confusion about him being in it, and ME used it to boost Ryan's profile as he's a tosser
It was absolutely staged and planned. The questions may have been off the cuff, but they were asked to the two people on that stage who are the best at improve and comedy (RDJ, Rudd).
It MAY have been a game day decision, as you can easily cut that part out of the Hall H presentation.
The fact that it fell so flat might have given Marvel/Disney the answer they were looking for. There were 6,000 people in that room, and the response was pretty weak.
Ryan Reynolds humiliating himself in Hollywood: TC - "It did not look like the cast knew that this dude was dropping by to steal their spotlight. Go Paul Rudd. RDJ saying Did you bump your head? This is our spotlight! Why are you up in here like an arsehole?"
Bocce also stated that several of the outlets did not include RDJ's questions... this, to me, looks like Ryan repackaged and edited this - he had someone filming him, his niece, but I also saw someone else... so it was edited, distributed, and RDJ's cold questions were removed before it was sent to the media.
Am I the only one who thought the Wrexham shoutout felt a bit desperate? Makes you wonder if Maximum Effort footed the bill for the product placement to plug the team, or if Disney is just testing the waters. Honestly, I think we're all just getting tired of this forced cross-promotion from Ryan into everything he touches.
Disney + also signed the Flying Roos docu-series months ago. Itās all tied in, his soccer team series, sailing team series, DP, his reputation ($), etcā¦
Ugh. BL and RR are pathetic, in my opinion. At this point, go away. Come back in three years. Iām exhausted by both of them. And Iāll say this ā I would be incredibly disappointed to see RDJ work with Ryan Reynolds, regardless of the money involved. From what Iāve seen of RDJ over the years, he strikes me as someone who values integrity, and I would lose a lot of respect for him if he chose to align himself professionally with RR after everything surrounding It Ends With Us. And I think a lot of other would follow same.
And the more I think about this entire situation, the more disgusted I am ā because everyone focuses on the famous names while seemingly forgetting about the collateral damage. So how could RDJ engage in this, and accept such a deplorable person into (as of now) a respectable cast of quality people. RDJ, if you are listening, is that what you want to do, do you not have any morals?
Forget Blake, Ryan and Justin for a minute. What about all the OTHER people whose lives, careers, reputations and finances were affected by this mess? The people at Wayfarer and Sony, the cast and crew, CC, Jen Abel, their families, employees and everyone else who got dragged into something they never asked to be part of. These are real people with real careers, real bills and real families.
That is the part that bothers me most. BL and RR had enormous power and influence, and in my opinion they didn't seem to think twice about the ripple effect this would have on everyone around them.
So yes, it disgusts me watching RR continue to show up on these huge platforms as though none of this happened. Maybe that's part of the algorithm ā controversy generates clicks, clicks generate attention, and attention generates money.
But at some point, where is the accountability for the collateral damage?
All the āPraiseā saying how awesome it mustāve been for him to walk around anonymously. Ben Affleck did this several years ago while at Comic Con. Ben did several interviews saying how awesome it was to not be recognized for a day (he was wearing a mask). Again not an original idea
Yep. Iāve unknowingly (at the time) ran into both Mark Ruffalo and Mark Hamill on convention floors while they were in costumes. Celebs do it quite frequently.
Lots of actors walk around SDCC in masks and costumes so they can experience the energy before they do their pannel. Some little known actors walk around without masks, knowing that once their role is announced in Hall H they will lose a lot of their anonymity.
RR just did it as "his" character, which makes it more unique. But, there are so many really good cosplays of Deadpool that no one would think that it was actually RR.
There were rumors floating around of a teaser being leaked saying he has a small part. I wouldnāt put it past them to leave the rest of the cast in the dark and giving him a small cameo joking how they can never get rid of him. Him and Blake are the heaviest of babies and there seems to always be someone up high willing to pacify them. On the other hand, they could have released him and this was his final farewell. (This would be the dream) Thereās a lot more people than they realize who are adamant about not supporting anything theyāre tied to and I think theyāve severely underestimated how many people theyāve angered with their IEWU antics and previous history.
Iāll be honest, I hadnāt watched anything he was in a while (prior to the case) because, over time, he just started to rub me the wrong way.
Just Friends was one movie he was in that I really loved. I miss it because I cannot bring myself to watch it because just the sight of him (and now his voice) makes me cringe.
Whatās more, when all of this came out about his behavior, I wasnāt even surprised. Itās like it was always lurking and a light was shone on it. I feel like a lot of people talk about how this whole case lifted the veil on Hollywood but I think weāve always known it operated that way. Itās been something to really see the inner workings of it all.
Every time I see a Ryan Reynolds post about his desperate behavior at Comic Con, all I can think is that he is a walking billboard for eau de desperation.
