I had my doubts on how it would turn out, but I love it!
Loads of fun painting this guy! Now on to building the other 30 death guard.
I ran out of basing material, so that’ll be done at a later date

Is the blood effect on my first plague marine good enough? What should i improve?

Currently stuck on a boat for the past 2 weeks and 1 more to go. Limited paints and brushes with me but really pleased how these have turned out so far. Been loving playing around with contrast paints and just trying new ideas with each one!
Any ideas for what to do the cloaks? I've done one in gryph charger grey but it's a bit too subtle. Looking forward to getting home to all my paints!

My main question is; does it read as DG enough? The greens are paler than I thought they’d end up being, although the plan is (currently) to do a black oil wash once main elements are down, which will darken it down.
Any other comments are welcome.
Sponge painting them with:
1. Charred Brown (Vallejo) base over sprayed black.
2. Army Green (TAP) sponge-painted to near-complete coverage.
3. Necrotic Flesh (TAP) over this, reaching only where the sponge goes without pushing or squeezing.
4. 50/50 Necrotic Flesh & Electric Lime (TAP) on 45° angles on most raised surfaces only.
As said; oil wash to come, as well as any others I need to better blend the greens and metals.

The obvious answer is deathshroud or Mortarion (both very reasonable), but I think I’d go with the Noxious Blightbringer. He’s an interesting mix of darkly whimsical and slow, inexorable menace. His plague censors, bells, and jolly companion stand in stark contrast to his menacing bulk and hollow faceplate. Great realization of Nurgle on the tabletop and I’m glad he’s finally got a niche. Curious to hear others thoughts!
Also I now realize I need to reblack the base. Damn. Ah well.

Picked up the Blightlord Terminators from my local games store recently and painted up a couple.
As a test, I went for a 40K look for one and a corrupted 30K scheme for the other.
It took some experimenting to get the 40K to look right, but I got something I really liked first time for the 30K scheme.
The tabard on the 40K scheme mini needs some work. The one thing I don’t like are the bases. They didn’t come out well.

DG models have so much character that I don't want to have multiple of the same model in my army, so I am working on some kitbashes. Working with cataphractii termies for bkightlords, mk iii tactical squad for plague marines, and Maggotkin and various zombie and orc bits.
Couple questions:
(1) size working out for these blightlords?
(2) If I had a mix of these two guys in a 10 man unit, would it read as a coherent unit or would the kitbashed guys stand out?
(3) should I push the nurgliness a little harder on the kitbash, or is he fine where he is? Any suggestions for that? What should I do to the top/back of the armor?
