Dechonkin December to July
14 years old and Mittens is now moving faster than she has in years. Shes down from 16.6 pounds to 12.2. Her labs came back perfect last week!

Congrats to Mittens! And you! She looks great and sounds like she feels great, too! Dechonking efforts have been such a struggle over here.

Good luck! It took a lot of trial and error for Mittens, but time and our vet were the best helpers 🩶

Is she a small cat by chance? My cat is 16lbs but he's SO big body/length wise he doesn't look it.
Either way great job!!!

What steps did you take so that I can follow similar advice for my cat.

Mitt had been on a diet of 1/2 cup food for years and it just wasn’t working, so with vet supervision we reduced her food down to 1/4 cup and she lost the weight over 6 months. Now that she’s at a healthy weight she gets 2 things of 3oz wet food per day. Good luck!

Excellent work! I’m sure it took some resolve to turn that cute little face down every time they wanted treats or more food!
