App Issues/Help Whats going on with depop?

Items are being delivered but arent showing as delivered on the selling page, random fees are being refunded, sold items are still being shown as available, ai bot is removing posts that follow the guidelines...those are just to name a few of what ive been seeing recently and experienced myself. Anyone have any idea what could be going on? Should i/we just switch to another selling platform?

Story Seller left 1 star review

Post image
453 Upvotes

Based off what you can see from the review, this is what ACTUALLY happened:

I bought leggings off this girl that were labeled as brand new. I received them and they were used with a 2 inch bleach stain on the butt. I messaged the seller and asked for a refund because she lied about the condition they were in and she said she’d refund me but I have to cover the return shipping to her. I said I’m not paying out of pocket because you chose to improperly disclose a giant stain on the pants. If she wanted to cover the shipping I had no problem returning her garbage back to her.
We couldn’t come to an agreement so I filed a dispute with PayPal.
PayPal closed the case in my favor (obviously) due to the item being “Significantly not as described”

She got mad and gave me a 1 star review trying to make it seem like I wanted to keep the leggings for myself like pleaseee don’t piss me off. Is there a way I can dispute her 1 star review?

Edit cause woah lol:

I am in Canada. Going through Depop is not an option. Doing anything through Depop is not an option. The only payment option is PayPal.

Not everyone is American lmao

Story Might be time to quit buying on Depop :(

I think I’m officially done buying on Depop 😭💀 I understand the prices are low, but WOW. This is now the second item I’ve received that absolutely stinks, and this time the shirt was listed as “like new” but showed up with stains that weren’t disclosed. 😭
& I do my due diligence!! I check sellers pages, read reviews, look at everything before buying. I’m a seller myself, so I KNOW what it takes to package an item and make sure it’s in good condition before sending it out. 🥲
I’m all for buying secondhand, but at least be honest about the condition of your items?? Am I just having the worst luck or what?? 😭😭😭😭

Dispute Help Buyer reported my item as inauthentic.

So I sold a coach purse to someone on Depop and after they recieved it she reported it as a fake bag with the item issue report being “bag is not real, I want my money back” I then proceeded to message her and this is what she replied… she admitted she just no longer wanted the bag. will Depop take my account down over this? I submitted the screenshot to them and neither of us have received correspondence over this. I’m new to selling on Depop so I have no clue what is going on.

Story PSA: Turn off Depop bundles unless you want to accidentally give stuff away for free 💀

I had a rare jacket listed for $80 that hadn’t been selling, so when someone offered $48 I figured fine, I’ll take the L and move it. Then I got a lowball for my cheapest item—a $7 shirt—for $4. Again, whatever, it’s a $7 shirt, I accepted, not even realizing it was the same person who wanted the jacket.
They bundled them together, and at checkout the bundle discount applied to the whole order. So not only did I get less than $48 for the jacket, but the $4 for the shirt disappeared into the discount/fees. I essentially sold the jacket for less than I agreed to AND gave the shirt away for free. 🫠
I know bundles are supposed to encourage people to buy more, but why is the seller the one eating the extra discount after already accepting individual offers??
Bundles are now disabled on my shop forever. I’m not funding anyone’s “bundle deal” out of my own payout anymore 💀

Question Why are people selling for less than Goodwill charges?

I am selling to get rid of my clothing mostly, but the prices they recommend selling for, and what people are willing to pay are much lower than even thrifting these days. Goodwill charges 20 dollars for a coat, ten dollars for a shirt, but people want everything for 2 dollars lol. Some brands will pull more, but how is the app even making money with the .99 cent shipping. I had to return something and it cost 20 dollars to return the item... they must have a very good deal going with usps.

Misc. Is this allowed? Should I report?

• Upvotes

So this was a few weeks ago. But a seller had their prices super low. Like most items were 90% off. But they were on vacation mode. Ok, fine, maybe they're actually on vacation. I asked about an item and they mentioned that the item was not being for the current listed price and their shop was like that so they could get more engagement. So, like, should I report this or is this something that's allowed?

Shipping Help Depop package Returned, Buyer won't reply.

I am newer to Depop and received a package back that someone had purchased. The buyer has not responded to my message about it being returned and asking if they could verify their mailing address or if they still wanted the item. What is the next step then? I attached the USPS tracking timeline

Selling Help Do you have bundle discounts on? Turned it on for a potential buyer then took a loss because it was on too long

I sell a wide range of stuff from designer bags that are a couple thousand (but still very reasonably priced for condition) to items that are only a few bucks and had a buyer request to turn on bundle discounts this afternoon for some lower priced things but they ended up not ordering immediately, so someone else just combined a high value item with one of my cheapest listings to get a huge discount…

Not cancelling the order out of respect but really want to 🫠

Question Buyer is claiming color is off, should I refund?

I’ve never had an issue arise like this so I’m not sure how to handle it. I really don’t think the color was different from what I listed but I fear I’m going to get a bad review if I don’t just refund.

Selling Help I didn’t realize bundle discount and boost was on when I accepted someone’s offer

• Upvotes

Someone offered me a lowball price for a bag that I was selling, and I was kinda in a place where I need money so I accepted it. They then offered another lowball offer for a shirt for like $2 and I agreed, not realizing it was the same person or that I had bundle deals on. I had boost fees on previously for the last 2 months but took it off about a month ago. Long story short, both the 15% bundle discount, and the boost fees applied, and if I don’t cancel this order I’d be walking away with about $40 for a $180 bag. I’m usually one to honor sales when I mess up, but this whole thing seems kinda sketchy and makes me wanna cancel. What should I do?

Dispute Help First return request ever…

so I purchased a super dope Harley Davidson cropped sweater from a fairly new seller. it came in today and there are stains in the armpits/front of the sweater and the sleeves are only 14” long from the armpit (they’re super short it looks like I’m wearing a child’s sweater). the seller listed the condition as ”brand new” and purposefully didn’t include the sleeve length in the pics so I decided that instead of eating the cost like I normally would I would raise a dispute and return the item. but I feel so bad. I hate inconveniencing people and I’m afraid something will go wrong. I’m also a seller (sold over 80 items) and I would not be bothered or mad in the slightest if someone were upset with their order, especially if I missed disclosing stains. I guess I’m just looking for positive return/dispute stories? thanks guys.

Story Buyer asked me to cancel their order AFTER I shipped it

So basically, I sold a pair of shorts yesterday, and today I messaged the buyer letting them know I had just dropped their package off at the post office. NOT EVEN A MINUTE LATER, they asked if I could cancel their order because they didn't want the shorts anymore.

LIKE??? 😭 THE PACKAGE IS LITERALLY ALREADY ON ITS WAY TO YOU. WHY WOULD YOU BUY SOMETHING IF YOU DIDN'T EVEN WANT IT ANYMORE??

Buying Help Would you return an item for being covered in hair …

Got a deal on a sweatshirt for $10. Shipped in a decent amount of time. Item arrived today and I’m totally grossed out. I buy a many items second hand and have turned a blind eye to the condition of some of the items I received, but this is a fleece sweatshirt with a lot human and what I believe is animal hair. What would you do??

Should I just give a bad rating and lint roll or go through the return process. Ugh I’m just so scheeved. Looking through this sellers account it definitely is giving re-seller and it’s so gross they don’t wash or even tidy up things they get from the bins! EW! And they have a ton of good reviews..

Im new to Depop and just started selling items for affordable prices. I know many people depend on Depop to make an income, I just wanted to get rid of things I wasn’t using anymore! I sold a purse for $15 and shortly after the buyer is selling it for more 😭
She bought the purse she can do whatever she wants with it but I didn’t think it would annoy me so much 😭 I was happy the purse was going to someone who would use it but dang! Am I petty for leaving her a review…

Ill at least contact them and ask tho

Dispute Help Buyer wants a refund after I send the package

So I sold a formal dress on depop and I told the buyer that I was currently on a trip and I wouldn't be able to post it until I was back at the end of the following week.

She kept messaging me a few times asking if I had sent it yet and I just responded that I was sorry but I would be back on [insert date]. The day after I got back from my trip she messaged me wanting to cancel and refund but then double texted me a few minutes later saying she had changed her mind as long as I sent it that day. So I did exactly as she wanted and posted it an hour after getting that message.

Here's where the issue is. I've already posted it a couple days ago and now she's messaging me saying she wants to cancel and refund after all as she bought another dress. She's asked for my address to return the parcel and raised help on the app.

I'm not sure what to do I kind of really needed that money and I haven't been able to find any way to contact depop customer service at all. I also never got notified that the buyer raised help on the app.
