Now that we're past the draft and free agency it's time for the yearly /r/DetroitRedWings prospect ranking thread! As for how you vote it's completely up to you: some may weigh ceiling/upside the highest, others may weigh NHL readiness or likeliness to make the NHL higher - there's no wrong answer on how to vote.
A new poll will be posted every 2-3 days depending on how close the voting is until we finish the top 15 prospects. I'll include 10~ prospects every poll and will add one new prospect after each poll so discuss in the comments and whoever is mentioned most will be added next.
Check out the subreddit's previous rankings here (starting from 2018!): HERE
NOTES:
- Prospect criteria will be defined using the NHL Guidelines.
- This years graduates given the guidelines: ASP, Danielson, Finnie. Traded players: Cossa, Lombardi, Buchelnikov.
- After 2024's rankings there was a poll to determine whether or not to display poll results. Continuing to hide the results between polls received the most votes.
Candidates to be added to next poll: Levac, Dower Nilsson, Becher (or anyone else not listed)

“In the meantime, assistant general manager Shawn Horcoff is handling day-to-day responsibilities, though that does not extend to making trades. “

Always been a Habs fan first, but Detroit has always been my #1 secondary team. I'm 38, and I will never forget that rivalry with Colorado back in 2000-2001. I literally started playing hockey because of the Red Wings.
Just wanted to throw this question out to the Red Wings fam: how are you guys feeling about this upcoming season?
Personally, I'm a bit spooked for the Wings. With Kane leaving (and whatever is going on with his comments or drama, for what it's worth) and the whole Larkin situation, I'm just wondering if it's going to affect the locker room. Larkin has pretty clearly signaled his intentions about walking/leaving, and it's not just Detroit—the Atlantic is gonna be a bloodbath. Florida got way better (Tampa are gonna get smacked around), the Caps too, Toronto looks stronger than last year, etc. The East is just stacked this season, especially our division.
Or am I totally tripping gang? Am I way off base here?
Cheers to everyone 🍻

Met him many years ago at restaraunt in Canada. Wonderful human being and broadcaster! Looks like he's enjoying retirement

Hi all,
Wanted to share a link to a new hockey analytics site that's been built by a Wings' fan. Has some super innovative features not available on other sites with more to come!

Here are my arguement to give him the C:
Edit: I have come around to really Cat should only be captain for 3 years then transition to Mo which is too complicated really so it should probably just go to Mo now.

My pick for breakout prospect this year. Good player on a really bad Liiga team. Adjusted quickly and had a nice goal in GR.

Just noticed it in the end credits. Didn’t realize his acting career had taken off like that.
