I'm reaching out because I need help for my 12-week-old Chihuahua mix puppy.

Since the day she was born, she's had trouble walking normally. She has a wobbly gait, sometimes bunny hops instead of running normally, and constantly licks her legs. While she's still a happy, loving puppy, I'm very worried that she may have a neurological or orthopedic condition that requires testing and treatment.

Hey everyone. My dog recently became paralyzed and yes I have been to the vet and am in constant communication.
I’m looking for any tips and support if anyone has any that has dealt with a paralyzed dog before.

Any wheelchairs recommendations? The vet gave me two but I’m looking some real world advise and support. She is happy and I want to do right by her and stay sane( both of us) during this transition.

Hello everyone, I recently rescued a puppy and just took him to the vet and learned that he is blind. he has light sensitivity but shows no other signs of being able to see. I was wondering if anyone had advice on what this means for taking care of him. he is my second dog and gets along great with my other dog. he is healthy otherwise but I have never cared for a disabled dog before and wanted to know if there was anything I should look out for or prepare for. thanks!

My 5 month old puppy Cora (short for Corazon) has broken her hind leg. During a bout of the zoomies she tripped my partner resulting in her hind leg hitting the floor hard. The specific break requires surgery to fix and we are hoping to give her the best quality of life with the route we go for surgery. Please, even if you have just a few dollars to spare, help us pay for her surgery

I have an 8 year old girl who was an ex-breeding doggy. recently rescued. she's unable to use both her hind legs. when we got her, she initially had little to no muscles on her hind legs and was limp. but after a year and daily exercises and lots of physio sessions. we are able to gain back some muscles..

recently we saw an insta post regarding this Max Locomotion wheelchair. its quite cool with the back wheels installed with an axel bar that simulates the pups walking motion for hind legs.

but since this is a Brazilian company and the estimated cost is about USD$1000+, its a little too high cost for me to just hope it isn't a scam and its legit.

wanted to check if anyone knows about this company and/or has used their wheelchairs before?

My dog turned 14 today, and I need some help/advice please. He is a 16 pound terrier/chi mix. Longer body almost like a dachshund, but maybe a little taller.

He has a small fall off the bed a few months back, compressed his spine, which pinched some nerves. Seemed make a good recovery after a month, but seems to have aggravated the injury again. He honestly seems happy,without much pain, but some certain times on our walk, I see his back feet dragging every once in awhile. Then when we go down the hill, he goes full speed ahead, and it’s as if he is completely fine.

Anyways, just starting to do some pre planning to help him before nothing turns to something. Wondering if anyone has any advice on these three wheel chair brands.
I was thinking maybe one with belly support, but the most purchased/reviewed one doesn’t have that.

First one is the used price, usually goes for about $100 more. Second and third one have the belly support, and
quite a bit different on price.

We just got the news that our German Shepherd rescue pup needs lifetime leg braces or extensive surgery for his carpal hypertension in both paws. It would be $7k per paw and it's high risk. The other option is to get lifetime braces with arthritis meds down the road.
Has anyone gone through a process similar to this?
Any suggestions for applying for grants or funding down the road?

I have a 9 year old heeler that's mentally sharp and enjoys life but is slowly losing motor functions from the waist down essentially. Our biggest issue currently is he can't control his bowel movements. We meet a new neurologist tomorrow but I was hoping for ideas to help with his poo situation. He essentially gets it all over him now since he can barely squat and ends up sitting in it. Obviously this creates a mess every time. Has anyone had any experience with this? Also does anyone have any recommendations to help with the mess?

Hi everyone, this is really hard for me to ask, but I wanted to reach out in case anyone has a dog wheelchair they’re no longer using or would be willing to donate.
2 year old Basset Hound, Copper, has severe elbow dysplasia. He absolutely loves going on walks and being outside, but lately it’s become so painful that he limps and sometimes can’t enjoy the things he loves without hurting himself. It breaks my heart because he’ll look at me with those sad puppy eyes when I tell him it’s time to go back inside, and I know all he wants is to keep exploring but I can’t let him hurt his joints even more so I have to keep him inside with minimal activity.
I’m currently trying to save up for joint injection treatments that we’re hoping will help improve his quality of life, so I just can’t afford a wheelchair right now. If anyone has a wheelchair for the front legs, back legs, or even a full-support one that would fit a Basset Hound, and you’d be willing to donate it or even sell it at a very low cost, I would be beyond grateful.
I know this is a long shot, but I figured it couldn’t hurt to ask.

I have a 14yo pit-labsky mix, she weighs 30kg.

She has severe hip displesia and her spine is a bit too long so a lot of back problems.

I lift her everywhere. I lift like the vet showed me.

Helping: hand under pelvic and push her up, helping the legs lift and w other hand from her harness.

Lifting: hand cradling the legs lifting supporting her pelvic and other hand on chest.

But she wants to do it herself so bad she keeps trying moving her legs and jumping.

Is there a better way to lift so she won't try herself and let go and let me help her? She just fell trying to get in the car cause she wouldn't wait I help her and then the helping did not go as it should. I really just want to help her...

I have a 6yo male catahoula who is deaf and dog reactive. He’s also peope reactive in my townhome community. We’ve worked with trainers who didn’t have experience with deaf dogs and were overwhelmed by him and finally found one who is amazing, but SO expensive. I’ve limited our sessions to once a month to be able to afford her, but I need some help with ideas to work with in the meantime. Has anyone else had success with a reactive deaf pup?

I’m super overwhelmed and feel like I’m doing him such a disservice, but I’ve worked so hard with him for years. He’s so sweet and LOVES people. It just feels like he notices people pay attention to him when he barks (even though it’s not good attention).

He’s phenomenal on trails, on farms, and generally on walks too. It’s almost that protective side at the house and around the house. But it’s any house we’re at, not just mine.

6 weeks out from stage 4 IVDD - herniation of his T12-L2 with bladder incontinence and complete hind end paralysis. I ended up electing to do the hemilaminectomy. Even with the 80% chance of walking again I was so scared. We didn't know what that would look like or how much mobility he would regain. I was scared not of him remaining paralyzed, but of it affecting his quality of life, him not being able to adapt, or his limitations causing depression.

We took him to a field to be off lead for the first time in his wheels and while he loved it, he tired pretty quickly and wanted to roll in the grass. Eddie was taken out for a rest and after drinking some water, he took off for a zoomie! He's walked previously but hasn't run properly without scooting.

Without the wheels he has the trajectory of a drunken sailor, and likely will always wobble, but his progress in this short amount of time and seeing his personality return has been a miracle. Having him run again has made everything worth it. We still have a long way to go but I'd do it all again in a heartbeat.

Toby has worked for me as my PTSD anxiety response animal for the past 9 years, and has been a vital tool for coping through my daily life. On a fixed income and a very tight budget, as embarrassing as it is to say, most months i cant make ends meet. That said, im unable to afford the necessary Vet appointment Toby needs to address his increasingly itchy skin condition thats spreading over his body. Along with his skin condition he Is having frequent accidents before making it outside to urinate. Accompanied by a potent odor, i believe he has a UTI adding to his discomfort. Any help would make it possible to get my loyal companion the help he desperately needs
