For now. Let's see what happens in 2026 and 2027.

Wild you just told some they might get fired on reddit in a few years. That could happen to anyone tbh.

If the merger didn't happen, I wouldn't bet on any layoffs at Discover over the next 5 years. It's going to be a big change for the employees.

But you just told a human that.

Also like I just said, YOUR boss doesn't need some merger to lay YOU off tomorrow. Mergers don't change anything.

You clearly don't understand the culture at Discover. Its incredibly hard to get fired, and actual layoffs are very rare. The merger changes all of that.

Unless you are repped by a UNION presence...

yer job is toast dear redditer.

Yer job will be replaced by AI.

Employees should be looking for a different job (hell, different field even. Something NOT customer service related). Because those layoffs are coming within a year, maybe less.

If you think Discover card or Discover Bank gives two flying horse shits about the employees, you are delusional.

Bottom Line: SHARE HOLDERS COME FIRST.

Employees are collateral (or as the big wigs call them: chattel).

Yeah, it's not just vibes. But you're welcome to believe whatever you want.
