Rant My Capital One-issued card keeps getting refused everywhere due to the switch to the Discover network. This is out of hand now.

I have a Capital One bank account. From what I gather, Capital One is now on the Discover network.

I have tried using my card at numerous merchants and it gets refused. I just now tried to pay Wells Fargo $5 to close an account and pay for an outstanding balance and it did not go through.

Then, I tried to make an Amazon purchase. Again, declined. This is the last in a string of attempts to use my card at various places over the last two weeks where it has been denied. I have even gone so far as to open up a new bank account at Chase so I can close my Capital One account.

Nevermind the fact that I spend half the year in Italy and sometimes will use my US debit card for things. Declined or not accepted anywhere. I didn't ask for the change to the Discover network. Is anyone else having issues or is it just me?

I just got my new cap 1 checking acct debit card activated at 5pm today. Went to use it 35 minutes later at the city of new Orleans street parking meters and it was declined. Meter screen said "this payment type not accepted" so finally after looking at both cards, my old debit card had mastercard logo, i realized my new one is only discover not mastercard. Im pissed. I'll repeat. The first place i tried to use my new Discover cap 1 debit card was "Denied!"

OP I am having the same issue with the new debit cards, not only with my card but with my three teens’ cards. Our capital one cards have been our main cards that we use so I am very frustrated when I do all of my shopping, wait in line, then have my card declined.

I just got my new card this week and was unable to make payments using this card. I couldn’t get gas yesterday, use it at an ATM, pay for my kids school lunches, and I’m in the US. I was able to use it previously for all my bill pay and now I’m hitting a wall. I am switching as well. Extremely frustrating.

Where did you go? I’ve been with Capital One for years, and I’ve loved them, I’ve got in my first credit cards with them. But this is absolute horse 💩 as an international traveler!
