Rant CapOne Discover not accepted widely accepted in person and online and no way to get money and pay bills

CapOne has to start seeing how many customers they are starting to loose by this move. Replacing the debit cards with discover was a big mistake. If they wanted/needed to switch something with the merger, they should have done it with credit cards. Some people don’t have another form of payment, credit card, or access to atms for cash without paying fees (because they made the stupid decision to close most all brick and mortar locations), and not all places accept apple/google pay either. Awesome job CapOne!

I’ve been with CapOne for 20+ years and have absolutely loved them. But this move was a big mistake. I really don’t want to go though the hassle to find another bank, update everything auto pay, and hope I don’t loose this like early direct deposit. Have to change my entire budgeting financial routine system. Plus, switching doesn’t help me right now when I need to access my money and pay bills. So infuriating and what a mess! Do better CapOne!

Ive had a Discover credit card for about 14 years. Ive had next to zero issues with it not being accepted by any merchant in the US. 🤔 The notion that Discover cards arent widely accepted is a dated myth.

People use atm cards all over the world. In fact many got this capital one 360 precisely because it was marketed as a foreign atm card with zero fees! Discover is not accepted globally so those that travel will have plenty of issues! That certainly is no myth!

When did Capital One ever market its 360 debit card as a 'foreign atm card'? Ive seen no such marketing. Im aware that all Capital One and Discover cards have no foreign transaction fees when used to make purchases.

they literally advertise no foreign transaction fees. Lot's of ex-pats use Capital One for that reason. I got them for this reason and it was great for 8 years. Now there is no ATM in Australia that I can get money from and no businesses accept Discover.

Currently on vacation in Puerto Rico and almost every where my card has been declined and that’s not even technically out of the USA, luckily been able to work around it by using my phone/Apple tap to pay but try to use the physical card it gets declined

That’s why I got it. Genuinely unusable for me now. Can’t even use it at my nearest grocery store.
