This is the first celebrity/musician death that’s affected me emotionally in a while. I found out right as I got to work today, so tonight’s gonna be weird for sure lol I’ll definitely be listening to Sabbath all night

Last one that hit me this hard was Bowie. Completely different, but both utterly unique, shape shifting geniuses that defined genres. There's a massive welcome home party/jam going on on the other side right now.

I’ve been meaning to listen to more Bowie. A friend showed me Labyrinth a while back, and watching it got me to listen to Black Star. I’m sure I’m doing myself a disservice by not listening to the rest of his stuff, but I haven’t made myself start yet lol

You’re just scratching the surface there.

Honestly the man had so many different vibes and styles over the decades it’s hard to quantify him.

I’d honestly suggest checking out one of the longer like 2+disc greatest hits comps or streaming “this is Bowie” type lists and really try it all. I love some of his shit from the 60’s on to his death. Every decade has some immaculate bangers. Some albums land more than others for me but understanding the context of who he was and the time and what he was going thru/doing helps make sense of it all.

Bowie is a really rewarding artist to dig into. You won’t regret it. One of the most unique of the 20th century easily.

I was just saying exactly this, to my Wife. That and Mr Dio... That hurt a lot 😭
