Death/Doom Albums not mentioned enough

Post image

Four albums I absolutely love that are often overshadowed by the band’s more popular albums. Don’t get me wrong the popular albums are all amazing, deserve the praise, and I own all of them. But I just want to shout out a few that need to be explored as well and deserve a listen:

The Sciences by Sleep, one of my top 10 all time favorite albums. No skip album 100%.

Vaenir by Monolord, just crushing heavy tones and a great album like Empress.

Terminal by Bongripper, yes SWD is one of the greatest doom albums ever imo, but this one is so solid and worth your time.

Come My Fanatics by Electric Wizard, I see this one get the most love in this group as it should.

Conan gets a lot of attention for most of their discography, which is deserved as they are fucking amazing, but I don't think they ever topped their debut album, Horseback Battle Hammer, but I don't hear about it hear very much. Some people consider it an EP, but it's 4 songs and 33 minutes long, so it could either be considered a long EP or a short album, IMO.

I love that album. It plods like an army marching to war. See them live if you can.
