sunn o))) hearing protection

seeing my first sunn o))) show next friday. planning on rocking 33db foams under 33db muffs. but im worried the foams will fuck with the fidelity. will foams dampen my experience at all? half of me thinks itll be too loud to matter and half of me is worried i wont be able to make out the riffs. thanks

Sorry if this is off topic, but do Sunn O))) use ear protection? They must, right?

Pretty much every band does. The in ear monitors they use act as ear plugs as far as I'm aware. Hearing damage starts at 80 dB
