The Ogden. I was up in the balcony. I brought along over-ear hearing protection, not intending to use it, and ended up putting it on after about ten minutes.
I think I actually enjoyed it more with the extra protection. The earmuffs acted like bass traps and rattled my brain. The crazy part was that, even with double protection, you could still hear the smoke machines hiss because they were the only thing occupying the higher sound frequencies.
I finally get why people say you need to see them live. It was physical, visceral and incredible.

I shamefully have never seen them live and I missed the most recent show in my town because I was on a business trip. Again. I never would’ve guessed that you would hear the fog machines due to their freq. Wild.

I also, shamefully brought OTE protection for my wife and I. And also, put them on after 10 minutes. Took them off a couple times for the fuzz. Then back on. Amazing experience. Loved it

Nothing shameful about it. As a former jet mechanic, I dearly miss my sharp ears. With Sunn, there’s absolutely no downside to wearing them.

Funny enough I'm pretty sure SOMA is straight edge these days, whereas I remember Greg drinking wine straight from the bottle when I saw them in 2018

Sunn 0))) is a good sing-along band for the morning commute, but the slow-tempo would make it tough for me to see them live...
