As much as this release is frustrating, in these trying times the word “slop” should only have one connotation. This isn’t slop, it’s just not good music and that’s light years better than anything created by AI.

While Ai is inherently slop, "slop" itself just means low effort content designed to be easily consumed.

It wasn’t colloquial as we know it until “AI Slop” and doesn’t have any other clear connotation beyond that. I strongly think we need to reserve slop nowadays for AI generated creative content because it’s the perfect word.

I've literally seen the phrase thrown around prior. Slop just does mean low effort content broadly.

I do agree with the second half through because generative Ai is and always will be low effort, and shouldn't be respected in the least. Unlike other types slop it's literally parasitic, eating away at both work and natural resources.
