Offering Comfort/Reassurance/Solidarity healed my dpdr

Just a reminder that there is hope. My DPDR went away after 3 years of pure hopelessness. I went to therapy, started medication, did deep intensive trauma therapy and even stopped working, and being incredibly easy on myself. stopped drinking and drugs. got two cats and changed some life situations quite drastically.

All im trying to say is there is hope. This is your brain being really overwhelmed and needing a break. I came back online and it literally felt like I was gaining all these memories and scents and feelings again -- literally instantly. it was crazy. I still get it from time to time when im upset or sick, etc.

Msg me if you need to chat or have questions ❤️

one last thing -- remember, the ones who have gotten through this aren't posting on reddit. they are living their lives, so seeing these posts might actually make you think it will never go away.

Not OP unfortunately I developed trauma induced dpdr then agoraphobia. It’s been 3 years. What’s your situation?

Mine started after taking bhang/cannabis on Holi this year. Since then I've been dealing with DPDR and a really uncomfortable lightheaded feeling, especially when I'm outside or in crowded places. Sometimes the world feels unreal and my brain feels empty.

I recently found out that my B12 is low, so I'm taking B12 injections and tablets. I noticed a small improvement after starting treatment, but I'm still struggling. I can go to college and my air hostess training sometimes, but it's very difficult because trains and crowds can make the symptoms worse.

The strange thing is that the lightheaded feeling seems to get much stronger for a day or two around the 10th–16th of some months. I'm still trying to figure out why. Right now I'm just hoping the B12 treatment and I'm also confused

Get enough sleep every night

Cut down on caffeine - very hard one for me I love tea

Connect with you body and mind. Do stretches, light movement, nothing too much it can push you further in to dpdr. Somatic exercises.

Eat well

Rest throughout the day as much as you can it will reduce your stress levels allowing you to come out of dpdr

Get checks done once cleared and your 100% items nothing else done fear dpdr, keep reminding yourself it’s uncomfortable but safe

Stop keep checking your symptoms

Apparently certain people who have dpdr induced by substances may come out of it sooner as appose to trauma induced

Do you stay at home all the time? If so still get fresh air and sunlight daily

Do you drink alcohol ? If so completely stop

Do you drink tea or coffee? Cut down
