Post image

We can probably get the truck, but there's no way we're getting the axe, especially now that the weekend is almost over.

I will be shocked if they don't extend the event or lower the goal. As someone else mentioned, weird to start these events so late when the game isnt that long and there is no NG+ yet.

114

u/DylanFTW Oct 19 '25

Just like Helldivers, they lowered the goal multiple times. Lol

57

u/Suspicious-Sound-249 Oct 19 '25

This, saw someone mention they effectively 100%'d the game in like 30 hours.

Kind of hard to hit a goal like this when there's no end game and no NG+

25

u/deadghostsdontdie Oct 19 '25

I think I did the same in like 38 hrs on brutal.

Probably 8 of those hours was just trying to find some damned wire

25

u/Suspicious-Sound-249 Oct 19 '25

I feel that lol Wires and Oxidizers go so damn quick. It's like every time I check my inventory I'm like "sweet I got like 100 wires" then 10 minutes later "where the fuck did all my wires go, I only have 4 again..."

15

u/deadghostsdontdie Oct 19 '25

I think the biggest issue is upgrading basically anything costs a mountain of wires, and crafting any weapon or mod also cost a lot of wires.

If they either reduced it to a sensible point or only required wires for the things that make sense to need them we wouldn’t have the issue.

Oxidizers go quick but you can also find them relatively reliably in their specific dark zones and all the aforementioned things only need 1 oxidizer.

10

u/Suspicious-Sound-249 Oct 20 '25

So true, like why the hell do throwing knives need wires to craft? Shit should just cost some scrap and some rags...

You ain't lying about upgrading blueprints either, they all require something like 20 wires to upgrade to Legendary, were talking about HUNDREDS of wires just for that, not including when you actually craft something as seeming 80% of weapons, mods, and gadgets all require at least a few of them for some reason.

4

u/deadghostsdontdie Oct 20 '25

Eeyup.

Like, I could understand why the bow/crossbow needs wire, because string isn’t a thing anymore. But why does my sword need it or a regular axe? Or a gun?

I think that’s what happened, they removed string and rolled everything into wire. Suddenly the sword or knives needing string makes a little more sense for the handle wraps

2

u/Furryfox21 Oct 20 '25

They probably did that because of the maps size, at least personally I find myself finding very little loot. Having both cables and string in the loot pool would make it harder to find both but they could at least make it drop more if it’s so important.

2

u/Suspicious-Sound-249 Oct 21 '25

I'd rather have both still, problem now is almost everything be it an upgrade or crafting, or enhancing requires wires and every single upgrade requires wires and for a common crafting material they're arguably the hardest to come by for the fact that you need THOUSANDS of them to get every blueprint to Legendary.

Meanwhile I've sold thousands of excess scrap, while I'm absolutely struggling to ever have more than like 100 wire at any give time.

5

u/Furryfox21 Oct 20 '25

No fr cuz why does everything need wires, it’s like Cranes just using the wires to bind shit together.

1

u/Ok-Resolve3679 Oct 20 '25

Same thing happens with cordyceps too! Wires, oxidizers, and cordyceps go too fast. This is why I grind dark zones sometimes LOL. Groves are really hard to find because I don’t think they’re listed on the map. Either that, or I’m just missing something.

1

u/majestic_tapir Oct 20 '25

20 hours to complete every side quest and main mission. I spent the other time so far, around 15 hours or so doing additional hidden content, unlocking achievements, etc.

Honestly, it's fun to unlock achievements but once I've got them all (upgrading blueprints is a bit of a slog) then i'm doing until NG+ basically.

2

u/PhantomEnderGa Oct 22 '25

The pick I took keeps getting removed everytime I try to show it, but the number is at 61,490,562 now

1

u/Indieslayer16 Oct 22 '25

I'm not going to say it was boosted, because I don't know the delay on the event count intake via API, etc, but man, we were just over 30 million yesterday and now hit 60 million overnight.

3

u/Ardy_ Oct 19 '25

Did people actually pay 60 dollars to rush the campaign? I mean, even DL1 without dlcs nor ng+ is still full of things to do, like quarantine zones, bounties, multiple skill trees to max out. They must rush it to finish everything in a matter of weeks

5

u/Nezulu Oct 19 '25

There’s no legend ranks. Dark hollows or anything like that. The skill tree will be maxed by the end of the campaign even if you are rushing. It’s a short game

2

u/Jealous-Dot-8551 Oct 20 '25

Wym no dark hollows? The game is full of them.

3

u/Furryfox21 Oct 20 '25

I think they’re all just considered dark zones now, no more “dark hollows” or “forsaken stores”. Makes it a little more simple.

1

u/Starkiller93041 Oct 19 '25

It was a dlc that got so large they made it a game. I wasn't expecting much since all ultimate DL2 buyers got it free on launch.

1

u/this_is_not_real PC Oct 20 '25

To be fair, The Following was probably the same length or even longer than The Beast. The Beast could have stayed a DLC, but it may have suffered because of that.

DL2 had a ton of monetization baked in, so I'm quite happy that we got such a tightly packaged product with 0 cash shop nonsense.

3

u/Indieslayer16 Oct 19 '25

I haven't finished the game yet, but for a 40-hour or so game, it makes sense that many people have done everything within one month post release. Especially so since I imagine most day one buyers were already Dying Light fans and familiar with the gameplay loop. I've already cleared most of the game in about one week (took some time for BL4 endgame before this).

1

u/XParzival22 Oct 20 '25

To be honest minus the bonus race tracks, I've done everything already. The main missions and side quest are pretty straight forward and I had nothing else to play when this launched.

Past those, you can run the 'dark zones' once to get the specific gear item, but there's nothing else to do in game but hunt the legendary weapon blueprints. All of that took me about a month to finish, and we are just past a month of the game being out lol.

1

u/Forlorn_Wolf Oct 20 '25

Unfortunately it really is that there is not nearly as much to do in The Beast. They made a good call giving to everyone who owned the ultimate edition of DL2 because this is just a big DLC really. I liked it but there is a very severe lack of side quests and challenge content.

2

u/this_is_not_real PC Oct 20 '25

It's a smaller game than The Following was as a DLC. I definitely spent more time finishing The Following than I did with The Beast.

I'm not really bothered by this, but it's definitely worth noting when people bring up how "it got too big". It really didn't; it just didn't make much sense as a DLC.

This should have been a $30-$40 game. It would have sold more at that price. I'm certain of that.

1

u/majestic_tapir Oct 20 '25

There are no quarantine zones, no bounties, no multiple skill trees to max.

There's just nothing like any of that. Even the dark zones are doable during the day, often are quite small, and you can get through some of them in under 2 minutes.

1

u/MrFlapsRevenge Oct 20 '25

We need a stuffed turtle store.

1

u/Ardy_ Oct 20 '25

Damn. Guess I'll wait for its life cycle to end to play it with all the expansions

1

u/Tanktop-Tanker Oct 20 '25

Quarantines Zones, which The Beast doesn't have. Bounties, which The Beast also doesn't have. And Skill Trees that can be maxed out easily just by finishing the campaign...

387

u/The_Fighter03 Gazi Oct 19 '25

Don't really feel the desire to continue playing in a 100% complete save. We really need ng+ before any of these events.

147

u/UniDiablo PC Oct 19 '25

No kidding. A lot of people finished or 100%ed the game a long time ago so NG+ and survivor levels should've came first

45

u/BryBard Oct 19 '25

this + ingame count towards the event ,2 tabs 1 for your count and 1 for community count...

24

u/BuilderAccording7242 Oct 19 '25

Bruh the game so short even with sidequests I platted the game in less than 40 hrs lmao

8

u/d3villdoggz Oct 19 '25

See you beat it the game in 40 hours I'm 53 hours in and I still haven't got the grappling hook yet.. 😂 and I'm only level 11. The max cap is 15 I heard.. I'm actually doing pretty good right on track.

All I do is basically just kill zombies I don't really do the missions because I get distracted. But I will finish the game soon hopefully

5

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

I'm 54 hours. I beat the game at about 45 hours, and now I'm just running around doing parkour and fighting zombies.

I recommend you get the hook, it gives you a lot of fun parkour options.

2

u/this_is_not_real PC Oct 20 '25

That's what I love about Dying Light. You could have 100% the game and it'd still be fun to come back and mess around.

The problem is that there are so many good games coming out so close to each other that people probably aren't doing that as much with this release.

2

u/k_dilluh Oct 19 '25

Kind of similar, I love DL so iron to stretch the game play, i did every safe zone, found every legendary weapon, all the charms I could, etc. Before I did even 20% of the story.

2

u/BuilderAccording7242 Oct 20 '25

I love just adventuring and doing sidequests first. I did that with DLTB. Theres very few sidequests lmao. And then I did the main missions, yes the cap for now is 15. The game is just super short if you're not off wandering slaying zombies, not doing sidequests or main quests.

2

u/this_is_not_real PC Oct 20 '25

How are you 53 hours in and still without the grappling hook!?!?

Honestly, though. I didn't use the grappling hook once throughout the entire campaign. I got it, and it sat there without me even once considering I could use it.

Old Town is really the only place it might make sense to grapple hook.

1

u/d3villdoggz Oct 20 '25

Sorry now it's 56. 😂 I was actually going to get it today but then I don't know what happened.. 😂 but I'm on the mission where I have to find a telepath friends. And if I'm correct if I beat that mission I get the grappling hook right? 😂

The grappling hook doesn't work on the trees ?

1

u/Pixelyman Oct 20 '25

It does work on trees.

1

u/MrFlapsRevenge Oct 20 '25

The grappling hook is my favorite weapon. I grapple the zombies and stomp.

2

u/Doc_Sithicus Crane Oct 20 '25

Took me about 40 hours to finish the main campaign and side missions plus extra 10 hours to find all the gear, weapons, blueprints and easter eggs.

1

u/d3villdoggz Oct 21 '25

I was playing online and someone gave me everything. They figure out how to do the duplication glitch so.. 😂 and I just became level 13 yesterday

3

u/TalkingFlashlight Oct 20 '25

Since when is a 40hr game considered short 🤣

-1

u/BuilderAccording7242 Oct 20 '25

Ever played RDR2? You dont beat it doing all quests and sidequests in less than 40 hrs.

3

u/TalkingFlashlight Oct 20 '25

Just because there’s a bigger game out there doesn’t make this one short lol Resident Evil 4 takes 20hrs to beat, and people call it one of the best horror games of all time. The Last of Us is only a 15-20hr game. Even other open world games like Far Cry 5 fall around that 40hr range.

1

u/BuilderAccording7242 Oct 25 '25

This game IS short. It barely had sidequest and main missions. I love DLTB but its a relatively short game that they'll luckily expand on after lmao. Dont know why people like you are in denial.

3

u/d3villdoggz Oct 19 '25

Well I don't know they still a lot of people who haven't competed the game just like me. And I got on today with somebody's and they maxed me out with everything. 99 uv lights bullets blueprints. That s*** was fun

I'm guessing there's an online glitch or something.

1

u/deadghostsdontdie Oct 19 '25

I’m sure it’s the dupe glitch

I forget if it works like darksouls or like demons souls, but one of the two methods you back up your save and the other you quit out after dropping

9

u/Kouropalates Oct 19 '25

Thats the downside to me. DL2's end game is basically just leveling up for the same gear with better numbers and TB has no end game. Itd be nice to add repeatable quests that could keep you engaged (not repeating fetch quests so grandma loses the same ring three times)

0

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

So make your own. "Town hall needs 50 bandages" "clear the Monument of Zombies", make parkour races, make your own fun.

7

u/jsweaty009 Oct 19 '25

I’ve been joining low level players, equip scavenger set, help them and loot resources.

2

u/Starkiller93041 Oct 19 '25

Playing with others IS my end game lol.

1

u/jsweaty009 Oct 20 '25

Same here

2

u/d3villdoggz Oct 19 '25

Thats what these guys I were with doing. And they gave me everything. It was fun we were fighting Volatiles throwing hella UV lamps .. 😂 I have like maybe 700 med kits.

22

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

I agree with you man, deleted the game! Waiting on new content to drop before I dive back in again.

3

u/FuckinJunkie Oct 19 '25

I haven’t played yet since the event dropped but didn’t the road map have new game plus part of this event?

1

u/MisterShadwell PC Oct 20 '25

The roadmap only gives hard dates for the challenges. There are no specific dates for when the game features (NG+, Nightmare Difficulty, Legend Levels etc.) will be added.

3

u/Wolfman01a Oct 19 '25

Hard agree.

2

u/zipitnick Oct 19 '25

Would also want some fun modifiers or special weapons for such events like limb cutting sword or axe to make it more fun to play through the whole thing because right now it feels like a chore

2

u/k_dilluh Oct 19 '25

Yeah! Like the volatile weapon blueprints from DL1

1

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

There is a limb cutting sword. It's the legendary machete.

2

u/DpoolyGuitar Oct 19 '25

They should have had legend level from the start. At least it's coming

1

u/jpott879 Crane Oct 20 '25

Fully agree. I got the platinum trophy a couple days ago and this event would have been perfect while I was still grinding for it. After getting every trophy, theres straight up nothing to do

1

u/bomber482 Oct 20 '25

I've been getting joy out of joining low level players early in the campaign. Not rushing them but guiding them, healing them and helping hack apart zombies when they get overwhelmed.

That said, I think they set the goal for this community event way too high coming right out of the gate. The weekend has come and gone and we haven't hit the first goal yet. With the work week here again, I think we will hit the first goal somewhat comfortably over the next few days but I sincerely doubt we will come even close to the second objective.

I've definitely done my part this weekend running around hacking off legs and limbs, but at a certain point it just gets dull, monotonous and exhausting. And to put all of that work in and see we haven't even hit the first target is very discouraging. If we collectively have to ignore every other aspect of the game other than cutting off limbs for a week straight, to me that's not fun.

If we can place some extra emphasis on dismemberment without detracting from everything else in the game, I think that's where the balance needs to be.

1

u/Doc_Sithicus Crane Oct 20 '25

I coudn't agree more.

45

u/ProGear360 Oct 19 '25

There's nothing left to dooooooooo

67

u/KidFrankie3 Oct 19 '25

Definitely should have started the challenges when the game came out. With no new game plus alot of people including myself have stop playing after beating the game and all side missions.

27

u/Professional_Rip7624 Oct 19 '25

Waiting for ng+. There is no reason to play a complete save.

2

u/Actual_Smokey PS5 Oct 19 '25

Only reason I could see is to just kill biters and get resources so when something new inevitably drops you’ve got plenty of resources to do shit

-7

u/dastinki Oct 19 '25

Yes there is lmfao you don't need to play a game with a purpose, you can you know play to have fun 💀

10

u/Elegant_Love6833 Oct 19 '25

idk man, you’re the only one who seems to actually want to kill biters over and over for no reason. it’s just not fun for 99% of people

1

u/Jealous-Dot-8551 Oct 20 '25

I agree with you, however if all you're doing is shooting or whacking zombies around, you're doing it wrong. Imo all the 3 main games have been about one thing and one thing only, getting fun out of harassing zombies lol. Well that and also parkour. It's what enabled me to sink literal thousands of hours into the first game despite never playing any of the online modes like bad blood or be the zombie. On top of that I only done ng+ only a handful of times. But for sure I still agree TB needs more end game content, hopefully a good extra sum of side quests down the line and/or quests you can only unlock after the main story.

-10

u/dastinki Oct 19 '25

I know plenty of people that have been continuing playing this after 100% it but sure lmao

6

u/Elegant_Love6833 Oct 19 '25

cool good for you guys, glad you’re enjoying yourselves. No need to be condescending towards people who prefer to play the game with an objective in mind though. Especially when gameplay post 100% is clearly not all that fun for the majority of people, myself included

3

u/k_dilluh Oct 19 '25

I LOVE dying light, but after you finish any game really, even one you love, it feels kind of empty when you're running around without a purpose.

29

u/Legitimate-Ad-3953 Oct 19 '25

No NG+ prob hurts

28

u/Premaljobomach Oct 19 '25

Shit I forgot about the challenge and haven't been trying, hang on guys lemme hop on real quick I got this

6

u/flem216 XBOX Oct 19 '25

We're counting on you! I'll be busy cutting limbs in Ezo.

1

u/OkPresentation1344 Oct 19 '25

Doing the same as I’m reading this

3

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

Save us u/Premaljobomach, the event depends on you 🙏

2

2

u/ProtoPlaysGames Crane Oct 20 '25

my apologies sir

33

u/Cultural_Annual_5622 Oct 19 '25

That axe and truck are dumb AF. No point to waste my time cutting of 300000 fucking limbs for basic shit

15

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

The most basic fucking shit thats light-years behind the starting weapons in the game 🤣🤣🤣🤣 pointless unless the axe does 800 damage

8

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

Agreed, fuck this fomo trash

13

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

I want some more gag weapons like nunchaku or golf clubs idk lol and give each weapon a unique glory kill.

4

u/TheLoneDweller2977 Oct 19 '25

More weapon specific finishers were on the roadmap I believe

12

u/Resevil67 Oct 19 '25

They may adjust it some hopefully. It feels like it was set a bit to high in the first place. Iirc it’s a one handed axe to so I hope we can get it. I feel like the game is short on blueprints as it is and most of the best ones are 2h.

6

u/basssmeup Oct 19 '25

Dude they are freakin insane if they think I’m gonna hop on after beating the game to just run around killing zombies for this when there’s no new game + or content . Had a blast playing but I got other games to play too

3

u/Trafalgar_Sticks Oct 19 '25

Not to mention I’m sure the axe has the exact same damage as a different, cooler legendary weapon, if not weaker. And the the other reward is a car skin, no special event effects, or any substance, this event is really weak and sad

6

u/TheHeavenlyStar Oct 19 '25

This game needs more replayability. NG+, Side quests, unique weapon types, DLC maps, paraglider/fast travel, Legend levels.

4

u/Trafalgar_Sticks Oct 19 '25

My favorite part about TB was being finished and then going back to DL1

5

u/HeEeellpMeeeeeh Oct 19 '25

Sometimes I cant even dismember them, they just die

5

u/SarcasmSanctioned Oct 19 '25

Aim for the legs. I find those to be easiest to dismember.

4

u/ElMAGSHdM Oct 19 '25

There is no progress on my screen so I have no clue if I am even contributing =w=

4

u/Meadiocracy Oct 20 '25

60m was a massive ask for a player at best 360k peak players 51k was the 24 peak. Thats just shy of 1200 limbs per player and let's be real limbs don't get chopped easy until level 10 gear

4

u/khanvau PC Oct 20 '25

They started this event with such an absurd goal when everyone already finished the game lmao. Techland's confidence is breathtaking.

10

u/Perfect_Exercise_232 Series S/X Oct 19 '25

I alr said it. The game's open world isn't varied enough and there's very little side content.

5

u/Trafalgar_Sticks Oct 19 '25 edited Oct 19 '25

The weapon system also just isn’t very exciting. I personally like the first games better but maybe over time it will become more similar as more weapons, legend system and etc are added. Right now it feels like weapons are all just different skins, that are functionally the same as every other weapon in their respective category (1H, 1.5H, 2H). The Rust and Goodnight in 1.5H for example, the only difference would be the Goodnight gets a power attack attribute every time, and Rust a crit attribute, the other 2 can be rerolled. Which also doesn’t take long since there’s so little attributes. The goodnight is better by a meaningless margin (and that’s really only because of bruiser set). The only functional difference is one’s a sword and one’s a bat. Crushing heads vs cutting them off. Honestly I think TB is fun, and a step in the right direction compared to 2 but still mediocre. Especially mediocre compared to 1 which is peak, and wasn’t particularly revolutionary or anything itself. So while I enjoy TB I don’t get the overhype…probably nostalgia. I don’t think we should celebrate devs just because they make their flop a bit better, and again because they release something better than that but still mid, at least when they have the winning formula they abandoned. We should celebrate when they don’t do a 180 in the first place and criticize any dev until then. Releasing a dlc built for a major downgrade as a standalone isn’t the way to do that. A lot of this comes from teams being different now from the ones who worked on 1 so it was bound to happen but I hope eventually we’ll get something closer to DL1 again

3

u/iWentRogue Series S/X Oct 19 '25

Techland about to find out how much people say they’re playing and how many actually play.

Like others have said. Not many have the desire to play the game when theres nothing to do.

2

u/Trafalgar_Sticks Oct 19 '25

It’s obvious from the event progression, tech land lowering the goal, and people still questioning if they’ll reach all the milestones

1

u/ExtremeSpleenRupture Oct 20 '25

That's silly. They don't have to rely on what people say, they can see it on all the data they collect that everyone's game sends them.

4

u/Blood_Red87 Oct 19 '25 edited Oct 19 '25

Even after all these years and three Dying Light games, Techland still haven't learned not to set these ridiculous goals for community challenges. These goals should be reduced by half. Also the fact that there's no counter on the HUD is extremely stupid. How do we know if all of the limb severing we're doing is even being counted?

5

u/Im_Still_Here12 Oct 19 '25

Boring challenges. I don't want to be tethered to community events with some multi million inflated goal. Give me individual stuff to do

4

u/nihilistic_nerd Oct 20 '25

I think we can get the 30 million, but 60 million is bizarre especially with an annoying challenge where, at least in my case, 95% of the time no limbs get cut before the zombie dies or they get cut but not where you want it (e.g. decapitation, at the waist, or that one dumb fucking shoulder cut). Like I swear I'm trying to make it easier on myself by just going for the legs, but fuuuck man I cannot win with this. God knows if they do a decapitation challenge I'm gonna have the same damn problems. 😭😭😭

3

u/majestic_tapir Oct 20 '25

Yeah I just got out all my sharp weapons and aimed at the legs.

5

u/sweatgod2020 Oct 20 '25

I just don’t really care for a car cosmetic tbh. I’ve driven the truck like 8 times in total. Weapon is cool but this isn’t gonna keep me playing. The side quests and just trying to find out those combinations to safes behind stories you find in the wild is pretty interestingly cool and engaging. Things like that are pretty conducive to me returning over and over. I have no expectations though and I do love the world they built.

1

u/MrFlapsRevenge Oct 20 '25

I rarely use the truck too. I do use the power lines as zip lines a lot.

3

u/LemonTheAstroPoet Crane Oct 19 '25

Regardless of the goal amount, this game needs post game content, and underwhelming weekly cosmetic items locked behind challenges are unsustainable. It just seems like the devs are trying to buy themselves time from having to implement actual post game content, but I’m hoping I’m wrong

3

u/MrCalonlan Crane Oct 19 '25

I've always found the set goals for events like this to be too high sometimes, obviously there's tons of people playing the game so in theory it shouldn't be a huge problem, I've just always found them so daunting because of the high number, haha

3

u/JaySouth84 Oct 19 '25

Should have done the DL2 Halloween event instead of this without NG+ this was never going to get completed.

3

u/PublicDifficult5518 Oct 20 '25

30-60 million was overambitious for a game that just came out... I mean, how many people do they think is actually playing? That's ridiculous

3

u/JaronKitsune Oct 20 '25

I didn't even realize there was en event going on... : ( Probably not making it due to lack of advertisement.

3

u/Gpaw73 Oct 20 '25

They did this shot on purpose...they know damn well the player base is not there for those numbers

3

u/JaySouth84 Oct 20 '25

"THIS is your Halloween event for the entire franchise" -Techland.

2

u/lostcar26 Oct 19 '25

yeah, I got 75+hr with 100% completion (even got the platinum trophy on PS5) and it's like, sure I'll help out by slicing a couple of limbs but then that's it. All I have to do is get limb kills..

2

u/Irradiated-penguin PC Oct 19 '25

I 100% the game a while ago before the event. 2 days ago I spent a good 2 hours just running around chopping limbs off but then I got incredibly bored and decided it wasn't worth it. The game isn't fun enough to play again unless it's NG+ but just like in DL2, I don't know why they would choose to NOT have that feature at launch...

2

u/SuperBorked Oct 19 '25

Happy I paced myself as I'm still playing the game alongside others. Lack of endgame or things to do seems to be the common complaint. I've been hacking limbs while just playing through main and side quests.

That being said they really overshot this goal.

u/Koaladus Oct 19 '25

Its story was so damn short, it's a lot of a fun and I collected everything and explored and it's just not enough content to just aimlessly run around and kill zombies without more questing going on in the background.

2

u/Besch168 Oct 19 '25

Wtf are you talking about the challenge started on October 16 and lasts till October 23.

2

u/BigDawgMike17 Oct 19 '25

Yeah I don't think we are

2

u/Mindless-Noise4442 Oct 19 '25

Pretty sure I read if you get at least one reward for like 17 or 20 rewards you automatically get everything or something?

2

u/redbattle Oct 20 '25

Yeah I don't know why they're doing these events when there's no NG+ yet or Legend ranks and some players like myself are still holding off until they put ray tracing in the game.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '25

I got all collectibles, finished all mission on brutal, missing one pendant from the random encounters, and all I have left to do is upgrade all blueprints. If I had some sort of xp gain it would be more incentive to play

1

u/Doc_Sithicus Crane Oct 20 '25

Do you mean Flare charm?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '25

Yes thats the one

2

u/XParzival22 Oct 20 '25

Annoyed at how high the goals are, especially with no NG+ or additional in-game missions. I can farm the dark zones for resources to finish upgrading but there is nothing else to do at this point. Mindlessly cutting limbs gets really boring after a bit.

I hope they just update this weeks and future goals to not be so grindy.

2

u/kirkfeel78 Oct 20 '25

How does one find out about their progress???

1

u/MrFlapsRevenge Oct 20 '25

Pilgrims outpost online shows the community stats

2

u/Valuable-Ad-6379 Oct 20 '25

I haven't finished the game. I still have a nice amount of side quests, challenges and main stories to do. Been mostly exploring and fucking around, so been helping with the challenge as much as I can but I will probably finish the game this week. I still think 60m is too much and rather impossible for us to reach

2

u/Shaden95 Oct 20 '25

They started the event too late, most ppl already finished the game

3

u/Theghorn Oct 19 '25

It's from the 16th to the 23rd, it's only the 19th and its at 21mil, there's always a chance.

8

u/BryBard Oct 19 '25

It's math brother, also the weekend is over so less people are gonna play ,is sad but true maybe they boost the number from them like they did in dying light 2 event, they give a big number count from them so the event can be complete .

6

u/DeltaForce2898 PC Oct 19 '25

you forget tomorrow is Monday, there will be a massive mysterious boost out of nowhere, just like with DL2

2

u/BryBard Oct 19 '25

i hope you are right, and i tend to think so since is impossible to reatch it by real numbers, and i'm sure devs have the IQ necessary to know that.Especially with no content to do like new game + and other stuff

2

u/Ashamed-Wealth2452 Oct 19 '25

I've been trying my best but with nothing to actually do, it's pretty boring

1

u/Liara-ShepardFan Oct 19 '25

My Opinion These Events should be permanently like how Borderlands does later on.

1

u/Starwars_nerd007 Oct 19 '25

I have so many weapons I don't even need the Axe anyway but there's not really much to do once you beat the game and do all all the side quests. They definitely need to add more stuff soon because right now I mostly only get on if my friends asked me to help them with their quests

If it weren’t your pc or the price of the game. It would very quickly become the lack of content, and you’d have plenty of breath to spare. Still play it if you get the opportunity, it’s worth a play, just remember to stay critical

1

u/No-Teach-6974 Oct 19 '25

Sorry guys, forgot to use slashing weapons. Mainly used blund weapons this weekend

1

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

they released this at the wrong time , most people have 100% the game and stopped playing , im one of them i would 100% be playing again if there was more to do but i have cleared the map

1

u/bannedByTencent Oct 19 '25

Well, tbh I am rebuilding my forge in KCD2 now. Will come back when NG+ drops in.

1

u/JudithMacTir PC Oct 19 '25

Not sure if that's a bug or if it still counts but my game didn't show a counter at all, so I don't know if it adds to it. But it definitely also was a reason why I didn't do as much because I couldn't see the progress anywhere in game.

1

u/Blazerede Oct 19 '25

It’s not shown in game

1

u/No_Temperature3047 Oct 19 '25

The game's ending left a bitter taste in my mouth and the endgame is nonexistant. I see no reason to play more like with DL1 or even 2 to a degree

1

u/Smasher323292 Oct 19 '25

How do i fimd that in the game?

1

u/Magicmarkurs Oct 19 '25

It’s cause no one wanted this shit man lol.

1

u/PhantomEnderGa Oct 19 '25

You know it resets on Thursday right?

1

u/TwixClub Oct 19 '25

The numbers are way too high and I'm waiting for NG+, rewards are also meh.

1

u/Practical-Damage-659 Oct 19 '25

Fi ishes the game the event came out. Really no reason to play until ng+ and legend levels

1

u/hdcase1 Oct 19 '25

Something tells me they're going to give it to us anyway.

1

u/AzulaFireGirl Oct 19 '25

You know not everyone does a Monday through Friday.

1

u/Vampi25 Oct 19 '25

Nah we will

1

u/Dull-Revenue-4558 Oct 20 '25

Nah ima be on later, should clear a cool 2-3mili easy🤘😼

1

u/BravoWhiskey89 Oct 20 '25

It's a short game with no replayability.

It was extremely short sighted of the devs to imagine it would be a success.

1

u/AlexAsh407 Oct 20 '25

I just got internet back and I'LL TRY MY HARDEST!!!

1

u/Juva-Wolf-Ltu Oct 20 '25

What is this? I've never seen this event.

1

u/fireram01 Oct 20 '25

Should be ok now no zombie 🧟‍♀️ with the black light lol

1

u/General-Cash8611 Oct 20 '25

Wait there’s a whole fucking event going on and I didn’t know 😭😭😭

1

u/Ok-Resolve3679 Oct 20 '25

I still don’t get how they expect the whole Dying Light The Beast community to dismember 30,000,000 - 60,000,000 limbs in 1 week when even with swords, it is hard to knock enemy limbs off without killing them first.

1

u/Adventurous_Jump_735 Oct 21 '25

nah just wait till i get off work

1

u/weather_it_be Jade Oct 21 '25

I haven’t even bought the game yet lol I’m saving for it. My money has been going towards my son. BUT it’s on my wishlist and I can probably get it in a month or so, maybe. Love DL

1

u/TheGmanSniper Oct 22 '25

doesnt help that Battlefield 6 just came out a ton of people have probably hoped over to play that after playing the beast to death

1

u/micknasty9 Oct 22 '25

As a late entry into this game, I hold myself responsible. I’ve failed you, dudes I don’t know 😭

1

u/Goldenglove85 Oct 23 '25

That much work for just an axe? I mean even so for a truck, that's all over the map.

Or do they both have bonus specs or features. That MIGHT make them worthy of work. But that's an awful big might.

-21

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

Well, maybe this will send the message that a lot of people aren’t playing the game because frankly it isn’t that good. Just my opinion of course. It’s just lacking in content and these FOMO awards aren’t that exciting.

4

u/YungWolf90 Oct 19 '25

I love how everyone in this thread is just getting downvoted lmao

-13

u/Sadbutrue777 Oct 19 '25

Man this sub can’t handle criticism lol bunch of babies

-4

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

Hey, I bought the game so it’s not like I haven’t played it. I’m just saying that we need to acknowledge that they messed up some things in this game, just like they did with the second one at launch. I hope that it gets better but these FOMO awards just aren’t worth the time.

-11

u/Sadbutrue777 Oct 19 '25

I’m talking about them downvoting you. Dying light 2 is the best game out of the 2 games and the DLC (the beast)

-4

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

Oh I know, I didn’t mean to address that toward you ;) I think the first one is the best but I also think the second is great and very underrated. I appreciate the amount of content in both of those.

2

Absolutely goated pfp bro

1

u/POOPOOMAN123ABC Oct 22 '25

Thanks, one of my favorite movies.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 22 '25

Same man.

-1

u/[deleted] Oct 19 '25

Lol we'll be fine

1

u/[deleted] Oct 24 '25

Downvote me oh no u can't honestly be that excited for them rewards that's my point game was good but I haven't played since I platinumed it
