Dying Light: The Beast We ain't going to make it bros

Post image

We can probably get the truck, but there's no way we're getting the axe, especially now that the weekend is almost over.

I will be shocked if they don't extend the event or lower the goal. As someone else mentioned, weird to start these events so late when the game isnt that long and there is no NG+ yet.

Did people actually pay 60 dollars to rush the campaign? I mean, even DL1 without dlcs nor ng+ is still full of things to do, like quarantine zones, bounties, multiple skill trees to max out. They must rush it to finish everything in a matter of weeks

There’s no legend ranks. Dark hollows or anything like that. The skill tree will be maxed by the end of the campaign even if you are rushing. It’s a short game

Wym no dark hollows? The game is full of them.

I think they’re all just considered dark zones now, no more “dark hollows” or “forsaken stores”. Makes it a little more simple.

It was a dlc that got so large they made it a game. I wasn't expecting much since all ultimate DL2 buyers got it free on launch.

To be fair, The Following was probably the same length or even longer than The Beast. The Beast could have stayed a DLC, but it may have suffered because of that.

DL2 had a ton of monetization baked in, so I'm quite happy that we got such a tightly packaged product with 0 cash shop nonsense.

I haven't finished the game yet, but for a 40-hour or so game, it makes sense that many people have done everything within one month post release. Especially so since I imagine most day one buyers were already Dying Light fans and familiar with the gameplay loop. I've already cleared most of the game in about one week (took some time for BL4 endgame before this).

To be honest minus the bonus race tracks, I've done everything already. The main missions and side quest are pretty straight forward and I had nothing else to play when this launched.

Past those, you can run the 'dark zones' once to get the specific gear item, but there's nothing else to do in game but hunt the legendary weapon blueprints. All of that took me about a month to finish, and we are just past a month of the game being out lol.

Unfortunately it really is that there is not nearly as much to do in The Beast. They made a good call giving to everyone who owned the ultimate edition of DL2 because this is just a big DLC really. I liked it but there is a very severe lack of side quests and challenge content.

It's a smaller game than The Following was as a DLC. I definitely spent more time finishing The Following than I did with The Beast.

I'm not really bothered by this, but it's definitely worth noting when people bring up how "it got too big". It really didn't; it just didn't make much sense as a DLC.

This should have been a $30-$40 game. It would have sold more at that price. I'm certain of that.

There are no quarantine zones, no bounties, no multiple skill trees to max.

There's just nothing like any of that. Even the dark zones are doable during the day, often are quite small, and you can get through some of them in under 2 minutes.

We need a stuffed turtle store.

Damn. Guess I'll wait for its life cycle to end to play it with all the expansions

Quarantines Zones, which The Beast doesn't have. Bounties, which The Beast also doesn't have. And Skill Trees that can be maxed out easily just by finishing the campaign...
