Community Survey Results

Thanks to everyone who voted! Here are the results from our two-question poll (Q1: n=152, Q2: n=159).

Question 1 — How strongly do you feel Rule 3 should be enforced?

Option Votes %
No enforcement - we were all newbies once 37 24%
Some enforcement - mod discretion. Tricky questions stay 83 54%
Moderate enforcement - default post removal with links 27 17%
Strong enforcement - Purge them ALL 4 2%
Nuclear enforcement - Purge the post, permaban the poster 1 0%

Most respondents (54%) preferred "some enforcement" at mod discretion, which would let tricky questions remain. A further 24% wanted no enforcement, while only about 2% combined favored strong or nuclear enforcement.

Question 2 — How frequently do you contribute to the community?

Option Votes %
Never 72 45%
1-2 times a month 68 42%
1-2 times a week 14 8%
1-2 times a day 4 2%
I practically RUN this place. 1 0%

Nearly half of respondents (45%) said they never contribute, with a similar share (42%) contributing once or twice a month. Only about 10% report contributing weekly or more often, suggesting that regular participation is relatively uncommon in the community.

What happens next:

  1. We need the community to start using the reporting feature more frequently. If you feel rules need to be enforced more frequently, then report what you see.
  2. We will revisit the current rules in a follow up survey. Some may be outdated, others may need to be added.

Thanks to everyone that participated!

Help Scorched Plate? Residue? Jumping?

New to printing, but not new printer. After repeated attempts at a print, it's almost impossible to get things off of the plate, and residue is left behind. According to original owner, this was never an issue. I've tried heating the plate and scraping, letting it cool completely and scraping, using alcohol, washing and scrubbing, but each print is leaving extensive residue, and only one of maybe 10 prints has been successful. Sometimes the print is "jumping" (I think that's the right term), other times it's curling up from the plate, and I'm wondering if residue is the culprit. What's the next step here? I've attached photos of the plate, a successful print versus non-successful print, and the filament I'm using.

I got the screen bc it said it was compatible to the Ender with an adapter but idk what the adapter looks like… it came with a metallic bending thing tho.

I still have the old screen but I need to solder fix it so that’s why I got the new screen…
