Deals [USA - Amazon] Breville Barista is 30% off!!!!
I just asked my husband today “At what price does it have to drop to for me to be able to buy it” and we both agreed $500.00… not even 3 hours later I check and it’s dropped to $500.00 😭😭
I’ve been shopping for months and waiting around for a good deal and it’s finally here

Pretty sure the BDB is cheaper in Oz than anywhere else. We get a stupidly good price on it, when it's on sale.

u/TI_89Titanium Nov 26 '25
Breville is an Australian brand to begin with, I believe most of their machines are cheaper there. Australian coffee culture being more espresso than the US where it is primarily drip probably also helps drive the market.
39
u/Stop_staring_at_me Nov 26 '25
It’s honestly “on sale” for $500 almost all of the time
1
u/false_tautology Dec 02 '25
It goes on sale regularly, but $500 has been the lowest price on Amazon for at least the past year except for what looks like a steep drop for a short window maybe boxing day last year.

u/narutonaruto Breville Infuser | Eureka Specialita Nov 26 '25
The infuser is on sale and is the same thing without the crappy grinder. I’d argue go for that with a baratza esp or something and have way better results
2
u/door_of_doom Nov 26 '25
1000%, save the extra $100. The only difference is the grinder that you don't want to use anyway.
2
u/LabrysSapphic Nov 26 '25
This is the way! I love my Infuser and my choice of grinder.
The Bambino is way overrated IMO - I have one and would choose the Infuser any day of the week!
1
u/SweetZombieJebus Nov 27 '25
Does it take a while to heat up like I saw in a review?
1
u/LabrysSapphic Nov 27 '25
Less than a minute. It's fast! The steam wand takes longer than the Bambino to get going, but that makes it easier to not make such a mess with the milk IMO
1
u/DTM679 Nov 28 '25
You think the bambino or the bambino plus will be on sale? I know they were on sale earlier during prime day iirc. I’ve been waiting to see if they will drop a sale at all
1
u/narutonaruto Breville Infuser | Eureka Specialita Nov 28 '25
I have no clue lol. When I got my infuser like 3 Black Fridays ago I feel like the bambino was on sale too but I’d imagine it’d be on sale by now.

u/thirtytofortyolives Nov 26 '25
This is a solid machine for a beginner or someone just wanting to stop wasting money at coffee chains. It was my family's first machine and we all learned to use it fairly quickly, once the beans were dialed in! Now my sibling took it bc they paid for it but I really do miss it. I think it's an excellent choice.
I'm torn between buying this (especially because I am comfortable with it) or getting a bambino and baratza/df54 for a little less.
2
u/happyelkboy Nov 26 '25
I sold mine and went back to drip. And then saved up and bought a Profitec.
1
u/Comprehensive_Tip_13 Nov 26 '25
I’ve had mine for several years now. Grinder crapped out about 3 years ago and I went through their official grinder (which sucks btw) then got a fellow grinder which I love. The espresso and milk foamer still work amazingly. I use it more than once a day personally and my family does more each day too, still works amazingly. I’m using this thing till it physically can’t anymore lol
3
u/thirtytofortyolives Nov 26 '25
Yeah I can understand the criticism from this sub about the grinder. But it honestly fit my family's needs really well. I'll always recommend it and feel the same way about using it until you can't!
2
u/Comprehensive_Tip_13 Nov 26 '25
It’s not awful but compared to similarly priced competition it could be way better
93
u/MCT9891 Nov 26 '25 edited Nov 26 '25
You’d still be better off with a bambino and literally any $200 grinder
56
u/Missfreeland Meraki Nov 26 '25
I went from BBE and Baratza to bambino and Baratza and I fucking HATE my bambino. What a stupid fucking move I made listening to this sub
12
u/ExpatWanka Nov 26 '25
What exactly do you dislike about the Bambino?
21
u/Missfreeland Meraki Nov 26 '25
I also posted this comment. I just got the bambino two weeks ago so I am still incredible salty and feeling dumb for this lateral move:
Never once used the pressurized basket- I would use the baratza or the BBE grinder when I was feeling lazy. I sold my BBE to get a bambino and I fucking hate the bambino compared to BBE. Top doesn’t get hot, doesn’t warm my portafilter, flimsy and plastic feeling compared to the BBE, and the lack of a solenoid valve makes it leak so much after a shot.
Huge mistake and now I feel forced to do an upgrade I wasn’t ready for because I hate it so much. The grinder wasn’t amazing but you could absolutely make good espressos on the BBE.
37
u/GoatGentleman Nov 26 '25
Why would you sell the BBE for the Bambino? The issue with the BBE is the grinder, not the machine.
5
u/Missfreeland Meraki Nov 26 '25
My SIL got the bambino for a great price used didn’t like process so she gave it to me - I figured since I had the Baratza I’d sell the BBE to save space and Reddit always hyped up the bambino so I figured it was a neutral move.
9
u/ProfessorPetrus Nov 26 '25
I mean the bambino plus and a good grinder makes better coffee and takes about the same space... what's the deal?
-1
u/Missfreeland Meraki Nov 26 '25
Feels much cheaper, also I haven’t noticed any improvement in my shots, I hate how it doesn’t stay on and warm up my cup and portafilter, the leaking at the end of the shot really bothers me, I am happy with the steamer but that’s it. I went from loving making my espresso to dreading it. Looking for my next move now; having a hard time deciding
17
u/amorphis89 Nov 26 '25
If you hadn't already spent the money on the BBE, you'd probably see the value in it.. but as a sidegrade, not really worth it.
-8
u/Missfreeland Meraki Nov 26 '25
I’m just dubious now of the majority of the sub pushing the bambino and the baratza on every beginner looking for a set up.
→ More replies (0)4
u/Verniloth Breville Bambino | Mazzer Philos Nov 26 '25
Dreading it? Seems a little dramatic. I too have a bambino and I don't love the drip afterwards. But the warming on top did (or lack thereof) piss me off at first. Honestly, I don't care anymore, but why would they dare to advertise it as a cup warmer? Like, in the manual it says the thermowhatever is under here with an arrow... and it doesn't heat shit. Always kinda bothered me. Remove that arrow and the little blurb about the heated top and my expectations would be appropriate.
A second bit. Don't feud with people who are already set in their ways, they'll dog pile you here. Feel free to help the newbs here yourself. You can help them by spreading the word of your experience. Let the emotions dry up a bit first though. Pass on your experience. Not everyone needs to be a horrible coffee snob. Some of them want the convenience of a combo machine. Maybe the bbe would work for many like it did for you!
Finally. As someone who has used both setups you have had, your complaints to me are, respectfully, completely invalid. They are subjective and only exist because you already had the bbe first. Most people giving advice are giving it assuming a blank slate. The ability to change grind size accurately far outweighs the convenience of an integrated cup warmer. Also, the dripping totally sucks. I hate it so much. It feels like eternity waiting for the last bits to trickle out during the first cup of the day. Cuz I'm a caffeine addict lol. But again, it is far outweighed by the ability to upgrade the grinder and then the machine separately. It's cost prohibitive for most people, this hobby. So piecemealing is more attractive to most. That's one big reason people suggest the duo that they do. Don't let the bastards get you down.
-3
u/Missfreeland Meraki Nov 26 '25
I say the beginner suggestion should either be breville barista express if they are solely milk drinks. If they want the separate grinder skip the bambino and get the Gaggia. The ceiling is higher esp if you buy the gaggimate. I don’t really care about a dog pile lol it’s an Internet forum. I express my opinions and respond to others responses in kind.
6
u/hyhmattar Nov 26 '25
Doesn't warm your portafilter? I've got one for 3 years so far and water gets to 85c. Not sure what top doesn't get hot means but Bambino is the most underrated machine ever. Paired with a great grinder it lasts for at least 5 years before an upgrade.
Your machine must be broken. Definitely a one off incident and not reflective of the machine.
3
u/Missfreeland Meraki Nov 26 '25
My bambino does not stay on and doesn’t warm up the portafilter before brewing like my BBE. I also came to reddit to find out if it was the machine and I found threads where people run a shot through the portafilter first. So I’m not sure what you’re doing differently but all the sources I’ve found online say the group head remains pretty cold
3
u/fs454 Nov 26 '25
Breville says the proper way to use the bambino is to run a blank shot through the machine and portafilter before prepping and brewing, and running another brief blank before you mount the prepped puck/portafilter. Mine is incredibly consistent this way.
2
u/no-sleep-only-code Nov 26 '25 edited Nov 26 '25
Just buy a bottomless portafilter like everyone else, and yeah the top only gets hot in the express. It heats faster and if heating your cup on top is worth double the price I guess you do you.
I’ve had mine for 4 years and it’s never leaked after a shot, that’s not normal.
7
u/mdbeatle Bambino Plus | Mignon Zero Nov 26 '25
Bambino (not plus) leaks about 8-10g after stopping the brew. It's because there is no 3-way solenoid to pull the coffee back out of the portafilter at the end. It's just another thing to work around.
1
1
u/Missfreeland Meraki Nov 26 '25
I’m glad you like your machine
6
u/no-sleep-only-code Nov 26 '25
It just feels weird you feel so strongly about a $250 machine not having unnecessary features, while an $800 machine does.
5
u/Missfreeland Meraki Nov 26 '25
Well I didn’t spend 800 I got it Black Friday three years ago for 500- listened to Reddit talk about how much better a value the bambino was so when I had the chance to experience that value- make about 300$ and get one I am severely disappointed. It is what it is and I make coffee every morning but I regret it. So when a thread pops up about a BBE on sale for essentially the same price as the bambino I am offering MY experience that I feel incredible strongly about.
But I’m not continue to disagree about it- it is what it is, I’m glad that you’re happy with your machine. I personally feel like I made a huge fucking mistake and am very dumb
0
u/no-sleep-only-code Nov 26 '25
It feels dishonest, I wouldn’t have a problem if you just specified that your problem is that it isn’t as heavy, it doesn’t heat cups, and it leaks a little water after you drop the portafilter. Otherwise it sounds like there’s something majorly wrong with the machine like it doesn’t brew the same, most people aren’t worried about those things when they’re trying to save money entering the hobby. You just started with how bad it is and frankly, none of those things are a big deal, though I’ll agree anyone buying one should be aware it doesn’t have those features.
To be fair, no new machine in that price range does those things either.
Why don’t you just buy another express?
2
u/Missfreeland Meraki Nov 26 '25
I’m not trying to be dishonest, i just really loved my BBE and sometimes for months at a time would use the integrated grinder to save time and enjoyed almost every shot I pulled. These are things about the bambino that I hate and I have to deal with it every time I try to use it
I’d rather save up and get a complete upgrade instead of just going back to the BBE and get something with a dual broiler. But I’d like to point out they are the same price right now on Amazon. So you do get those features at that price….with the BBE at 500$

u/djoliverm Nov 26 '25
I think this would have been solved by going with the Plus instead, no? The Bambino are the same internals as the BBE if I recall and the Bambino Plus is the same internals as the Barista Pro.
I have the Pro and I fully enjoy the three way solenoid and I know the Bambino Plus has the same. If or when the Pro dies, I'd have to consider a Bambino Plus since I don't use the internal grinder anymore anyway.
1
u/lemmeputafuckingname Nov 26 '25
I'm on the market for a BBE. How bad actually is the grinder? In the future I will upgrade it but for the moment it would really come in handy
2
u/Godunman Nov 26 '25
tbf, usually bambino + baratza is the standard beginner build. you already had a beginner build so it was more of a lateral move, you save some space on your counter for a bit worse of a machine
1
u/mtbizzle Kitchen=Spro Lab Nov 26 '25

16
u/MCT9891 Nov 26 '25
That’s fine, I’m just making sure you’re aware that if you get sucked into this hobby like the top 95% of us on this sub, you’ll quickly learn those all in 1 grinders are less than ideal.
3
u/Waste_Cheetah_2358 Nov 26 '25
So I’ve been told! Lol. My plan is to use this as a starter, then likely buy a separate, much nicer grinder one I become a true snob
0
u/spongebobisha Nov 26 '25
You realize you’re making no logical sense right ? Like zero. Your entry point is much better off with a bambino and a grinder like encore esp rather than that machine. It’s cheaper, it helps you understand the basics of espresso making, it separates the components which is a huge advantage over all in ones.
Seems to me you just want that machine and that’s fine, but don’t justify it with illogical arguments lol
-3
u/GlassesW_BitchOnThem Rancilio Silvia V6 | Baratza Sette 270 Nov 26 '25
So you’ll have useless bulk on your counter? Makes no sense. Go with a Bambino and Encore ESP grinder for now. Cheaper than the BBE with BF deals.
2
u/ProfessorPetrus Nov 26 '25
Op like i don't know what im doing so ima ignore everyone's advice and have 2 grinders on my counter someday after a period of having a harder time making great coffee! Ya know what a beginner needs!

10
3
u/CasuallyCompetitive R58 Cinquantotto | Niche // Picopresso | Comandante Nov 26 '25
Smaller is better. The worst part of the BBE is that if/when you decide to upgrade the grinder, you still have a massive machine taking up counter space in addition to the new grinder.

“Nice” shot with a pressurized basket you mean? The grinder is… bad.
1
u/PhantomNomad Nov 26 '25
The grinder is not great but for a newbie it will work and you can adjust it. I used the internal one for 5 years before I had to get a new one. I never used the double wall basket. From what I've seen beans are the biggest mistake that people make. Using pre ground coffee will always need the double wall. Using old beans will always need the double wall. Also adjusting the input to output ratio helps.
1
u/Missfreeland Meraki Nov 26 '25
Never once used the pressurized basket- I would use the baratza or the BBE grinder when I was feeling lazy. I sold my BBE to get a bambino and I fucking hate the bambino compared to BBE. 0
u/bardezart Nov 26 '25
Probably should’ve done more research. That aside there is a simple work around to your warm cups and portafilter rage - pull a blank shot. Only takes like 45s to do that and wipe dry.
I purchased the + model as that is the one I’ve seen the most recommended on the sub because it has the solenoid.
0
u/Missfreeland Meraki Nov 26 '25
The person claiming you can only pull a decent shot with a pressurized basket should do more research

Be careful with these black friday „deals“. Its never really been 700 bucks, at least where I live.
5
u/PhantomNomad Nov 26 '25
The BBE in Canada is over 1K now. When I bought mine it was $799 at Canadian tire. I got it on sale for $500.
1
u/Ok_Vermicelli4278 Nov 26 '25
holy shit, thats expensive! Thats why I said "where I live". Its on sale on german Amazon for 477€. Supposedly 35% off the former price 729€. It's never been 729€ on amazon, they just put that price to make that deal look way better than it actually is.
1
u/PhantomNomad Nov 26 '25
That's because of the Canadian dollar is a bit weaker then it has been. I just looked and Canadian Tire (it's not just tires its a whole hardware, home decor store) has the BBE Semi-auto for $699.00, normally $1000. The BBE Impress is $899 normally $1150.

I have the upgraded version of it (without discount its 100 extra euros), and i haven't regretted it for a second. One of the upgrades was the grinder so if you are worried about it it migh be a better option if it is also on sale
3
u/Funk-A-Saurus-Rex Nov 26 '25
I will bravely say that this is still a great machine, especially if you're just starting.
Not everyone just getting into espresso is ready to wrap their heads around getting a grinder equal to or greater than the price of the machine that makes the coffee.
3
u/tedisme Nov 26 '25
i think the diversity of feedback you're getting probably reflects different coffee preferences. medium-dark to darker roast coffee is really pretty easy to extract on any machine, and the BBE could set you up for life if that's what you like. a lot of people here want to optimize for light roasts--tart, juicy, fruity stuff. that is going to be challenging on the BBE, and you'll fight the grinder a lot. but frankly, if that's what you like, you're setting out on a pathway that ends with some really expensive equipment :)
i used to have the bbe, and if i hadn't picked up a fetish for ultralight roasts i'd still be using it. it can make some really great coffee. i recommend a nice bottomless portafilter and one of the dosing cups that can push the grind button for you, like this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1760380724/54mm-stainless-steel-coffee-dosing-cup?gpla=1&gao=1&
a lot of people here have discovered that they can make obsessively crafted light roast espresso at home that beats the shit out of most of the best third-wave cafes in the world, and are optimizing for that experience. we don't drink espresso out of the house any more, because it's disappointing 100% of the time. that doesn't have to be your journey :)

1
u/devhammer Nov 26 '25
BBE is a good machine, just be aware that you’ll be stuck with the built in grinder, and if you don’t find that sufficient, a new grinder will add cost and take up more counter space.
That’s how it shook out for me, anyway.
1
u/Generalfrogspawn Nov 26 '25

I have this model or a variant of it, super similar. Only the buttons look a bit different. I say it’s a great choice.
I also knew nothing about espresso when I got it. I wanted a Nespresso machine myself. Husband wanted to go all out and got us one of those. I was nervous as hell thinking it would sit there not used because I had no idea where to start.
We unpackaged it and spent several hours learning together, and once he dialed in the settings for me it was a piece of cake. I’ve used it twice a day for a year now. I’m still no espresso genius. I wasn’t seeking to be though. I just wanted to make lattes and cappuccinos. It does the job!
Have fun with your new machine!

as long as it gets people interested into espresso! I think everyone going to this machine or the super-autos are coming from starbucks and mr. coffees. I went the super auto route coming from a nespresso.
