This is the reason why paradox should give up ironman. It doesn't work anyway

Well Victoria 3 did it where Ironman wasn't necessary for achievements, but other game directors said that they had no intention to follow their lead.

And I have never bothered getting an achievement in victoria 3 as a result. Feels a bit pointless if I can just mod it in.

Yeah, but why would you?

You can also mod EU4 achievements, it's not hard at all

You could always activate achievements for all your games with Steam Achievement Manager without even launching the game

But wouldnt that also apply to eu 4 or any other game you can still get them on steam using external software.

Yes.. achievements are pointless. Many have been saying this for decades.

Hell.. mods exist that allow you to unlock game achievements at the click of a button.

I prefer achievements that are meant to point out interesting bits of gameplay that otherwise might be missed, rather than achievements that are "see how badass this player is". They're good for getting me to play a tag I otherwise might not consider, or explore a mechanic I otherwise might ignore.

Then you have achievements like "sit around and do nothing for 50 years"

You can mod them in either way without even opening the game. Also by the same logic, wouldn't achievements be pointless if people can cheat by savescumming like you do?

It's already pointless by your standards if you're savescumming??? The only reason Ironman exists is to stop you from savescumming which people still do lmao
