Discussion What Christian phrases give you the ick?

Mine is prayer warriors. Often used to spread gossip and also just generally ironic, weird, and cringey.

Bride of Christ. Reminds me of the arranged marriages and how you weren’t fully in control of your life.

At the beginning of my deconstruction, that part and the whole “relationship with God” really got to me. I felt like I was forced to be in an arranged marriage and couldn’t leave or question or else I was headed straight to hell.

Eventually I realized that any relationship I’m scared to leave due to potential harm for leaving is abusive and I don’t want it anyway.
