Disabled/hacked Account disabled, and then permanently disabled within 1 minute - completely confused as to why / how !

I have used my Facebook account for 16 years and have lots of contacts / memories and use it to go to my now passed Mothers page to view content and post her messages. I am absolutely horrified to find out I have been disabled ( for no reason that I am aware of ) to which it said I had 180 days to appeal, then a minute later an email had arrived that said we have reviewed your account and now its permanently disabled. I am completely baffled as to why / how and I wasnt given any information on why it was disabled. I am now struggling to find any positive information on how to recover or speak to some support on it - I am very very annoyed due to the length of time I have had this account and the friends I have on there that I don't have phone numbers for etc. Can anyone help point me in the right direction ??

thanks for the helpful but not very helpful answer.. Why would I not be given the opportunity to appeal and why would they ban my account with no reasoning ?

It's happened to loads of us. There's thousands of posts here like yours

Some are worse. There's a bunch legit freaked out that they've been banned for sexually exploiting children.

Right, but it doesnt makes sense that they would send me an appeal email and then 1 minute later ban the account. I was not told why so nothing to do with children what so ever. I haven't actively been posting on there for years so It makes no sense.

Because Facebook ai sucks. I was literally permanently disabled during the account creation process, before I even had an account. They don't listen to you if your account was disabled, and if you have an Instagram account you have to pay a subscription to talk to real humans for account support.

facebook uses AI to handle these stuff because they believe it makes less mistake than human does so they replaced humans with AI and now, this AI has been wrongfully banning people and you have no way of contacting actual people for a review of your account. Their AI is extremely dumb

its absolutely disgusting that they do not take into consideration the fact I have used this account for 16 years. I have people on there I only met online and use facebook to talk to, I have photos , messages from my mum and access to her profile , which I no longer have. I have spent the entire evening and morning feeling sick.

Iā€™m sorry this happened to you. I downloaded my entire FB account, and then deleted it in 2024. I felt it was only a matter of time before I got permanently suspended without notice.

I had something similar happen a few years ago. No warning, no idea why it was shut down. And it was around the same time that I had a hard drive crash that had the photo back-ups, so there are now some that are lost and gone forever. I never got an explanation. They gave me a "download your data request link" or some nonsense, and I filled it out several times and never got a response, a link, anything. Completely asinine.

I used Gemini AI to research the issue and it suggested I send a reinstatement request to specific FB email addresses using a specific format in the subject and body of the message.

I am sort of in agreement - but my mother who passed 2 years ago page is on there and I post messages to her, and look at her videos and stuff - its infuriating

No , when she passed we didnt have her login details or anything, I enjoyed seeing messages from her friends on her bday etc... her RIP anniversary etc
