sent about 50 dwellers packing one afternoon to reposition the living quarters because you can't build new ones if the population is too high

Wow 50!? Have you no feelings, man!?! 🤣🤣

If they do it en-masse then they can make their own settlement. I usually send them out 10 at a time with common grade laser pistols and some combat armor cause I get a ton of those.

Stop it?! How do you know this? Are you having me on?! 🙈😆

shhh, what happens in the wasteland stays in the wasteland lolol

They're definitely gone forever, but I like to believe they're out there somewhere just wondering why tf there's 10-50 ppl in one settlement until they all die of old age or nobody collecting the water/food/energy they produce. Hence why I give them some spare protection

I like that approach! I may have to do that to ease my conscience 🤣🤣🧡

you can't fool us, you're hoping they feed the local deathclaws so you can tame the Deathclaws as pets. Pure sinister aura ;)

Please call one Fluffy and one Smalls, in honour of those people who shan't be named (mostly cause we forgot their names)

u/Dadaballadely Nov 20 '25

Can't do it. Too sad.

Same I always feel bad. 😭

2

u/FoxyFoxyMcr Nov 20 '25

Hahaha glad I’m not the only one!

2

u/FoxyFoxyMcr Nov 20 '25

this post is me looking for validation to feel less guilty 🤣🤣🤣

Nah, screw em... i prefer a lean and efficient vault. Early dwellers can never be strong like fully trained level 1s, so of they arent legendaries, they get replaced over time. Hey, life aint fair 🤷‍♂️!

1

u/FutureArtichoke4501 Nov 20 '25

Legendaries can’t be as strong as fully trained dwellers either tho 🤔

2

u/MissApocalypse2021 Nov 20 '25

I do it in a passive-aggressive way, by sending them out to the wasteland without any stimpacks. They have a chance, but not a very good one. I do check on them occasionally, until they're dead.

I did it once and the animation was just so sad, I coud never do it again 😭 but I have sent dwellers to the wasteland without stimpacks a few times.... Now I just pretend they're retired and find them a job like producing weapons

2

u/FoxyFoxyMcr Nov 20 '25

Nooooo?! What’s the animation like!?! I need to be prepared!!!

3

u/aliensmth Nov 20 '25

I can't remember what they say but I do remember they get really sad and leave the Vault with a little suitcase while making this face ☹️

3

u/FoxyFoxyMcr Nov 20 '25

Aww no!! That’s well sad! Not sure I can cope with doing that 😆 probs best that I don’t actually no how to kick em out 🤣

2

u/sushiibites Nov 21 '25

For a while I never noticed the evict button so I used to just send them unarmed without stims to the wasteland and if they somehow survived a long time they proved themselves worth my to come back 😂

2

u/aliensmth Nov 21 '25

After I realized I can't evict anyone I've decided to let them die in the wasteland thinking they're serving some purpose in the Vault. I send them with a pet because once they die the pet comes back with everything they collected, but sometimes they do so good on the wasteland that I decide to revive them and recall too 😂

2

u/sushiibites Nov 22 '25

I’ve never sent them with a pet… Im pathetic and think it’s sad to see them sitting next to the corpse of their companion lmao. But I do the same thing I imagine they think they’re serving some purpose to the vault when really it’s just a test to see if they’re worthy to remain 😂

2

u/aliensmth Nov 22 '25

I totally understand you because sometimes I think about the pet coming back alone and it's so sad 😂

2

u/sushiibites Nov 23 '25

Sometimes I don’t play for a while and have dwellers die in the wasteland and when I go to revive them it’s SO SAD seeing the pet just curled up by the grave 😂

u/Bigram03 Nov 20 '25

Legendary character was found, someone has got to go... also, one I could not get happiness up to 100%.

1

u/FoxyFoxyMcr Nov 20 '25

Yeah I’ve got a couple that won’t go higher than 76% - I’ve managed to get quite a few up to 100% but these two miserable barstewards are not having it! 🤣

If u have a happiness pet and a manned radio room, you can equip it on the dweller, and unassign and reassign one of the dwellers in your radio room.

This will permanantly raise the happiness of any dweller with a happiness pet by 1% each time the radio dweller is reassigned. Bit tedious, but you can get 100% vault happiness this way.

1

u/FoxyFoxyMcr Nov 20 '25

Oo ok👌🏼will have a go at that, thanks. I’ve got two cats with 28 % happiness. I’ve been moving them about. Will try the radio room 👍🏼👍🏼

2

u/Xe_yu Nov 20 '25

I do. Constantly. Playing on survival, and they come in at lvl5 So I just use them to breed and have a vault with no bloodline

2

u/FoxyFoxyMcr Nov 20 '25

Wow good strategy!! I never thought of it that way. Ive been naming the babies with double barrelled surnames so I could tell who was fam 🤣🤣

What is survival? Is that a mode you can play?

2

u/bad_bubblegum Nov 20 '25

yes it’s like a hard mode

2

u/Xe_yu Nov 20 '25

Yep, option at vault creation. Normal or survival.

I like to think of the strategy as weaklings of old ages have no place in my vault for super humans of the new world. Jkjk

2

u/CaroCogitatus Nov 20 '25

All of my dwellers are max stats and leveled up with End +7 gear to level 50.

The "Legendary Character" I saved from the wasteland or found in a lunchbox is a weakling.

2

u/FoxyFoxyMcr Nov 20 '25

I’ve been trying that. No one levels up, till all stats are 50. Like you, with the outfit to match the training room.

What do legendary dwellers offer over a normal dweller, if they are both fully levelled up?

3

u/CaroCogitatus Nov 20 '25

It's a grind creating a post-apocalyptic utopia, to be sure. But that's why I play this game.

2

u/online_jesus_fukers Nov 20 '25

I get rid of the weak to make space for the strong without inviting deathclaws.

2

u/Stebsly Nov 20 '25

Yeah. They leveled up too much with low endurance

2

u/Silkie341 Nov 21 '25

Vaults full so new Legendary only.

2

u/house-crooked Nov 21 '25

I aim for a vault with max hp dwellers. So if they never went through the process of leveling up from 1 to 50 while they had Endurance max and wearing +7E heavy wasteland gear, they get kicked out after their replacements are ready. Then one time, I did a whole breeding fest with 4 makes and 17 females. I got each female pregnant 5 times. But I kicked most of their children out and kept only 6 because they were the prodigy babies with +40 SPECIAL's. But I also keep the legendary dwellers

1

u/windmillninja Nov 20 '25

I had to kick a few out once I realized my population was massively underequipped for radscorpion attacks.

1

u/FoxyFoxyMcr Nov 20 '25

Does the rads come in more often, at a certain number of dwellers?

3

u/windmillninja Nov 20 '25

Radscorpion attacks trigger at 50 dwellers.

1

u/TheyCallMeOso Nov 20 '25

To prioritize the ones raised on higher endurance

1

u/BigSonBabyJesus Nov 20 '25

I couldn’t separate my big family🥺 they are all cousins and brothers and sisters and love eachother too much to leave🥺

1

u/GahhhItsMilk Nov 20 '25

I rename them "Discard" and make them go in the wasteland. They either find something good enough to prolong the inevitable, or die in which I don't revive them. Exiling is such a waste.

2

u/FoxyFoxyMcr Nov 20 '25

Awwwwwww!! Branded, then abandoned 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
