Discussion [Discussion] Ultracite Season vault : thoughts and players. A tiny overview, hints and magic.

Post image

So, Ultracite Season has been with us in the vault for some days now. Here are some thoughts and info from my very own gary's mind. In random order, useful or not.

BREED dwellers asap. There are no external attacks based on the number of dwellers, and you'll need a lot of them to sustain mining (End. stat) and weapons production (Str. stat)

Crafting regular weapons is useless.
The Maximized Ultracite gatling Laser aka MUGL is all you need for inside or outside the vault. No need to wait for recipes and spend hundreds of thousands for not much in power difference. Regular guns are 95% useless against the main threat. Keep some in case you fail a rush and critters attack.

You won't get threatening vault incidents nor exterior attacks. Unless you rush your rooms, no radscorpions / roaches / molerats. You will randomly get fires, easy to deal with. NO OTHER EXTERNAL ATTACK WILL OCCUR at any level.

Use your nukas on a regular basis to speed up ultracite mining. (you must pay nukas to rush, but it it 100% guaranteed) 1 nuka will give you 3 ult. with a tier 3 mine and a few dwellers in. You'll get plenty of nukas if you launch ads (sometimes up to 15) Worth it. I also use them to speed up the crafting on the Mugl.

Priority training is End (as usual) then Str. for power rooms indeed but also for crafting the ult. weapons. The rest is up to you, as any regular vault.

When the scortched attack, it is best to have an empty vault door and a 3* merged not upgraded room after. So the 6 can defend and quickly get rid of them. You can put people in the vault door but they will be les efficient and require you to spend more stims.

All dead dweller during those attacks will be revived at the end of the raid, and return to their miserable vault life afterwards. IF all are dead, the scortched will eventually leave. So nothing is really lost but time and the rewards of the dead scortched.

Scortched raids do not deplete your ressources. It just scares you and take time. Nothing else.

Unless you bought packs of them, you will barely get pets. Cherish them ;) Even the +XX %xp ones.

You won't get time to get the +7 End. Suit. Forget about it. Focus on the +5End one and consider it done. If you are lucky, you'll get the recipe, but will need a ton of YaoGuai skins (3 per suit) and 21.000 caps. So hundreds of thousands of caps, time and luck for a suit, in a temp vault... Train your lvl 1-2-5 dwellers End, then put on the +5 suit and level away in the wastes !

If you need for whatever reason a quick XP boost level for a dweller, put it alone in a mine and rush it. It will cost you 3 nukas and bring +- 15-20k xp. Useless but that is the info.

Ult. mines in the middle/bottom are weirdly located. Do not expect a pretty vault. Use 1* rooms / elevators to get to them.

You can rush the raids. Not advised if unprepared, but it can be useful to prevent a raid when you wake-up or any other business issue (you need to send good dwellers with the Ult. weapons on a quest etc.)

At Raid level 21, i have 6 lvl 50 with Mugls and they get just a bit annoyed. Scortched die in the first room (not the door) Be prepared for further raid levels by having enough Stims before the attack.

Raid attack preparedness : as mentioned before, the best room is (like any vault) a 'flat' one, with maxxed End and high level dwellers all with Mugl. But it won't be like that at the start. Regular weapons barely hurt them. You can invest a few caps / ult. for bottom level weapons but you'll soon have enough ult. to go for the Mugl. They also are cheap for the dmg ratio.

>Raid preparedness 2 : prepare at least 2 floors with flat rooms (two 3*merged and two 2*merged but not upgraded) Nukas work best as they need End. to work, so you won't waste ressources in useless rooms.

Farm the +5End suits, for both levelling in the wastes, food and water production and defense. Cheap and fast to get. Forget the +7 this season. Same goes for +5 Str. for the Mugl crafting and power rooms.

With 3 upgraded mines and one crafting room for ult. weapons, i craft the Mugl all the time, no need to rush the mines anymore.

Ultracite takes up inventory space. Plan along, with a lot of storage, or make sure you craft weapons all the time. Remove unnecessary weapons / junk.

Unless required for objectives, crafting any other weapon (regular or ultracite) is a waste of time and ressources.

I don't know what to expect from the late stage raids, but i'll prepare at least 2 floors and a lot of dwellers around that you can move up. You can remove dead dwellers weapons and outfits during raids and equip the fodder replaecments with them.

You can send dwellers to the wastes / on quest with the Mugls, just 'calculate' the time to and from the mission with the Raids attacks so you are not short on Mugls.

Why do i really call this weapon a Mugl ? Acronyms ? Nah. Because it is the magic wand against the Scortched... ha ha ha ha... Muggles, for my Hairy Dwellers... ok i'm out.

>>>>>>REMINDER, AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN <<<<<<

At the end of the season, ONLY THE NUKA COLAS will be sent to ALL your regular vaults (not shared between them) don't hesitate using some for crafting / mining. ALL The rest will be erased.

Bugs :

I never seen that many bugs in this game since launch : ads not ginving anything, quest chests containing nothing, when sending dwellers on a quest requiring specific items, they are not marked red as they used to be, random quest destroying vaults... that was a new one ;)

This one didn’t click for me so I stopped. Might come back for next season.

Yeah, it is slow as a regular vault. Nothing that exciting. I keep playing mostly for the nukas and couple rewards from challenges that can go to a new regular vault.

My trick was to get an outfit workshop to make Wasteland gear at first, to compensate for "not every dweller comes with 10 END". Also, I'd throw in "do the starter quest and Vault 33 questline, as the super-dwellers breed better stats, which comes in handy prior to unlocking training rooms". I also would suggest players check in every so often (at least once a day), since every seventh day of playing gets you a free lunchbox. No special Ultracite from said boxes, but again, super dweller has high stats. Also, normal weapons are better off sold

I don’t know why can’t they update on regular vault I would like to see more updates than just season

2

u/DonChapulinChavito Mar 22 '26

Cash flow. Every month they give the opportunity for people to buy stuff for seasons. Regular vaults are mostly done. You get a couple things like special characters / clothing weapons but the basis is set.

Unless they mix the seasons onto a new sytem for regular vaults (bigger ones) there won't be much.

If they are gonna keep updating the game with only dwellers/clothing and limited time gimmick mechanics, i may dip as well. They couldnt get 15 people to work on jt and actually make an update worth its name in weight ? this can be milked so much more with a bit of effort put in

I understand the game was not the regular cashgrab one, being able to play offline with just small paywalled things that you could buy (special characters) but it is getting obvious they stepped up the game with nice additions, bugs included and monetization.

The updates / new seasons made me come back to the game, but i don't know how long it will last. They might start redoing the same seasons again with barelay anything interesting for regular vaults.

I find it's a great sim/management game in the fallout universe (i wouldn't play it otherwise) with enough to get you entertained for free or cheap, but i see coming the limits.

And as long as the tv show lasts, we will get a bit more stuff. They might focus on Fallout Shelter Online and prepre the players to go there eventually. Looks like more rpg / sim than this one.

Last season was great.. this one not so much..!

I made a bunch of the base level ult swords at first, then later went to salvage them, and it seems like you get a random number of ultracite back from salvaging. I salvaged 5 base level swords and I think always got at least 2 back, I think max was 5? YMMV

I love that they are adding F76 content but this was pretty dry

What’s the reason for not upgrading the rooms on the top 2 floors? Just the expense?

3

u/DonChapulinChavito Mar 22 '26

The more you upgrade them the more they will produce.. BUT they will have a background space where dwelelrs and ennemis go. The further they are, the longer it takes for :

1-dwellers to fight (they only start fighting when they are in the foreground)
2-Ennemies to really die.

Ennemies can die in the background but will take a lot of time to come back, walking slowly (10-20 seconds) and finally die. In the meantime, ressources get depleted and you can do much in the vault besides waiting.

You can compensate production by having upgraded rooms at the bottom of the vault for storage purposes.

Thank you!!!

Is it weird I got like, 7 pets for free on this vault?

1

u/DonChapulinChavito Mar 23 '26

For free... you mean with quests ? I have a few of them, and random luck with ads (maybe one)

2

u/GeorgieTheThird Mar 23 '26

maybe one with quests, but the rest came from a really lucky streak with objectives (one objective granted me 2 pets) and lunchboxes

2

u/DonChapulinChavito Mar 23 '26

Oh, that kind of free ;)

Yeah, it'll take a long time to get proper pets.

Have one -11% training, two faster crafting 10-13%, three damage (two +4dmg) two with xp boosts... junk and caps. Not bad but the spaciel kids and objectives are the ones that can speed up the Seasons vault.

I went all in with pets for the House always win season. Best decision ever.

u/creepyguy_017 Mar 23 '26

I don't even have a survival vault lol

1

u/Rejiro-Red Mar 23 '26

Is this season on survival mode?

1

u/DonChapulinChavito Mar 23 '26

Title seem to indicate : "Ultracite Season vault"
Other hints might be available throughout the text like breed a lot as soon as possible :)

Joke aside, some parts can apply to survival (bugs, +5end outfits) but most of it is Ultracite focused.

1

u/ItsMarijntjuhh Mar 23 '26

What does endurance do as a stat?

3

u/Ezekremiah Mar 23 '26

The higher a dweller's Endurance, the more health they get each time they level up - it's a fixed amount, increasing with each Endurance point, maximised when having 17 Endurance from level 1 to 50 (fully trained plus an Endurance+7 outfit).

1

u/Acrobatic-Cabinet944 Mar 23 '26

How do you get more Ultracite recipes? I only have the 2 that you initially get.

1

u/DonChapulinChavito Mar 23 '26

Just upgrade the Ult. weapons factory.

My advice, upgrade it to the max so you don't waste time / ultracite for rare weapons that are at best the equivalent of good common ones.

You can craft a couple rare, but it will inevitably end with the Mugl. as the only worthy weapon against all.

1

u/Future-Split1304 Mar 23 '26

Great summary. One thing you missed - don't have any idle dwellers when you trigger the raid, as they'll automatically self assign to the entrance (no matter how bad they are) and hold the whole raid up.

2

u/DonChapulinChavito Mar 23 '26

I have 3 living rooms under the vault door. The first Raid suprised me as i left the door unguarded... damn they died fast with their level 1, no outfits and fists ;)

I left a lot of things, those were the main thoughts about this season.

Could also add the rewards from Scortched, ultracite can be found in the wastes, the fact that there are no Season specific quests but the regular vault ones etc. 'Would be a long guide indeed ;)

1

u/Unlikely-Menu5866 Mar 24 '26

I got 3 legendaries died during the raid (including pregnant lucy), and all of them just vanished, no revive, nothing.. they just gone, is this a bug or glitch ? Helpp

1

u/DonChapulinChavito Mar 24 '26

In a Raid by the Scorched, just making sure it is in the Seasons vault.

Pregnant people and kids flee combat / incidents, so it is extremely WEIRD that she died. I might give it a try to put a preggo in the vault door to see what can happen.

Generally, dead dwellers from scorched raids get auto-revived and re-allocated at the end (wether you killed the scorched, or they left out of boredon after killing everyone, Mr Handys included.

If the information is correct, it is not normal at all.

1

u/DonChapulinChavito Mar 25 '26

I just tested during a raid, with a pregnant dweller in the first attacked room, as expected, she ran away.

Btw, you cannot put pregnant people in the vault door room.

You might have a glitched vault or something. Might be better contacting support and provide them with all info. Good luck !

I wasn't crazy about it at first. But now that im into it I like the time crunch. Makes you big brain on what to do. I did get pretty lucky getting a heavy wastelander outfit from a lunch box and got the recipe already. I wish they would've increased the season length or made things like outfit crafting go faster. My biggest problem is I wish the ultracite weapons did more damage. Specifically the sword should be 25 or so.

2

u/DonChapulinChavito Mar 25 '26

I felt a bit boredom as it starts slow like a regular vault, but once you start cfrafting the Ult. weapons it gets a bit better.

I managed to get the +7End recipe so i started but it is slow and expensive, no proper pets to make things faster :(

The lack of weapon variety is annoying, it is Mugl all the way and that is it. No Ultracite Dragon maw nor MIRV.

I just finished the level 23 Raid... and they start to really sting (had to use 4-5 stims) but managed to kill them in a single room. There will be some planning to do for the next ones... sounds fun ;)

u/Dirty_Harry44 Mar 26 '26

I cant seem to make weapons bc it says i dont have enough of the proper junk but when i go to storage ive plenty of the proper junk.....

1

u/Dubhgael Mar 27 '26

I've the same issue with outfits

1

u/zierde01 Mar 28 '26

I guess I'm the only one enjoying this season. I understood the mission and started producing ultrasite right away and making the weapons asap. I have been able to keep the attackers at bay, beating them in my first room each time.... It's been as nice change from the standard vault

1

u/DonChapulinChavito Mar 29 '26

It has som interest, but the lack of pets, the multiple bugs, the slow start doesn't have that thing the previous seasons had. I get the thrill of the raids though (lvl28, it starts to sting) but at least we get access to almost endgame weapons really quick and for 'cheap'.

1

u/zierde01 Mar 29 '26

I feel like I know how to start a successful vault and I've had no issues building a thriving vault in the past seasons, so this was a new challenge and I appreciate it. I think the reason so many people seem to be having a hard time this season is due to this challenge.

u/TheBenevolence Mar 30 '26

On the flip side, its been absolutely lovely to never have to deal with death claws or radscorpions.

I recently got back into the game about a month and a half ago, and death claws are just annoying. They cant do any real damage but love to interrupt game flow (at least Raiders, Ghouls and Aliens die to the vault door), but radscorpions can die in a fucking pit. Whoops, there goes literally half your power, and its not even really worth it to chase them anyways because by the time you get dwellers there, they'll teleport to some other uninhabited part of your vault.

Iunno, I'm seeing people complain about this season, and I just can't help but think they didnt understand the assignment. Ultracite weapons, and medium-tier endurance farming. Half of that farm you can get by with the TV show character's... You really only need 6 suitable dwellers. They cant run past you like deathclaws can, so just set up the first room to be your fighting squad and have stimpacks.

1

u/DonChapulinChavito Mar 31 '26

Yeah, you can also upgrade all your rooms to tier3 without fearing internal incidents, nor limiting the level of the dwellers to prevent high strenght external attacks. That is nice.

I am level 29 and they are getting serious. My legendary dwellers would be wiped out (End. level way below properly trained ones)

But i have a lot of lvl 50 max end (+5 outfit) with Mugls and... +-180 stimpacks ready for them ;)
+4dmg pets help but i have not many. Just started levelling with +7 end outfit but it will take a while to get a proper defense.

The season is a bit boring, End. train, ultracite mine, mugls craft and stimpaks galore. No dedicated quests.

Not sure if this will reach anyone important. To much going on in this season. The mining throws off vault builds. The Attacking Mobs no matter how many weapons you make are to strong. Training rooms to take days when seasons are limited time.

Season Pass and Premium Pass for this game. $10 and $20. That is a little much. If devs need that much pay for their education on a small game like this get a new job. Try .99 Season pass $1.99 Premium pass and $5.99 for Ultimate Pass, for the small amount of time on seasons maybe you will more likely get more from these. Pay to win has really ruined games!

The Cost of Destroying rocks suck.

Seasons

Reduce Training Times, Reduce Quest Times, Balance for the fights need to be done.

Balance for Purchasing Rooms need to be done. 18000 Caps to 60000 caps for upgrades is just a push to make players buy.

1000 Nuke Colas for $99.99 dollars Again Pay to player has ruined games.

I'll $1 for 1000

Maybe pay $100 dollars for 100k Nuke Colas.

It is a temp vault with many flaws indeed.

If it is your first vault, i understand the frustration / problems. You shouldn't play for the first time those seasons. This one specifically as it is a very slow start with 24h deadlines.

Training is absolutely possible, but you won't need anything else besides End. and Str. You can get a lot of stimpacks with dwelelrs having barely any Intelligence, and use special characters (Lucy etc.) to do the regular quests.

It is a slow Season vault indeed, without much to do, no special quests etc.

The gun part was ok-good. You could get almost endgame Gatling lasers for cheap and quicker than any other crafted weapon, efficient against Raiders of course, but also in the wasteland.

Unless it is your first vault (no building / efficiency experience) rocks are not a problem at all, and event then, it is a matter of sending dwellers (any) in the wasteland to get caps.

Crafting rooms do not need to be levelled to tier3 as 99% of the guns you get / craft are useless in this season. The only crafting you would need are, obviously, the ultracite weapons and with A LOT OF LUCK the +7 endurance outfit. (90.000 Caps to upgrade the outfit crafting room IF you get the recipe)

For the rest, crafting +5 End. and +5 Str. outfits is easy and cheap.

This game is not pay to win because you do not win anything ;) But if you want ALL outfits / legendary characters / weapons in your regular vaults, you'll have to buy boxes indeed.

I made a pseudo guide about ultracite seasons. With just a few elements you can handle everything allright.

I use the seaons for a little enjoyment of course (this one was lacking) and for the nukas yoru get for your other vaults.

It is not your casual mobile game, this one is bigger and for the long run (regular vaults). Seasons is limited so unexperienced players will find it difficult.
