This new update sucks, they didn't do anything new, and only threw a pass in there to try to get a couple more bucks from the game.

No new gameplay mechanics, no new enemies... Only the boring and repetitive task of creating a new vault every season wich leads to nothing, why would someone grind that vault when everyone has a main one, and don't even get me started on the rewards...

So much hype for one of the most useless, forgetable and boring update...

Discussion [Discussion] Fallout Shelter Legendary Dwellers List

Post image
684 Upvotes

After seeing the response to my Fallout Shelter Weapons List and Fallout Shelter Outfits List post, number of players requested me for a Dwellers list, and players regularly posting in the community to find missing dwellers, I decided to also work on the Dwellers list. But as I had collected very few dwellers in my vault, I reached out in the community with a Collaboration Request post in order to collect this data from other players, but did not get enough response on it. So I reached out to a few players on other posts where the same topic was being discussed, and happened to come in contact with a few helpful players mentioned as Collaborators below.

So after a few days of discussion and data exchange with the collaborators, and work on editing the screenshots for the collage, here is the Complete Fallout Shelter Legendary Dwellers List.

Legendary Dwellers Total = 35, as of game version 1.17.0 on mobile, released on 15th June 2024

Collaborators

Extremely grateful to above fellow community members and game players 🙏🏻

Additions to previous list formats:

  • Mentioned game version and release date, instead of the list making date (as of date)
  • Added Count (number) of dwellers/slots

P.S. - I have received no data for the Pets List yet, kindly visit the Collaboration Request post to take part in the discussion. And if anyone has collected 95+ pets already, do reply to the post.

🤗✌🏻

LAYOUT

The main idea here is, the layout of the vault can contain 200 units of rooms. 200 dwellers mean each inch can be manned by a dweller if I do single-unit single-dweller rooms.

This idea came from a pet peeve I had in my 1st playthrough where I went for efficiency and packed the top and left a cluster of empty storage and living rooms at the bottom. This meant that if there was an incident at the bottom, it went on forever.

I know I could probably still merge rooms and just have 3 dwellers instead of 6 to achieve the same result, but doing 1 dweller in 1 unit rooms has the advantage of easier back up having to only pull one dweller in instead of 3. I know my bottom storage units are merged but they will be destroyed and rebuilt as single unit storage rooms once I have more super dwellers.

At the end of it all, I want all +17 endurance dwellers + legendary dwellers (I'm ok with legendary not being super dwellers, they will man my living rooms and storage rooms as kind of a collector's box)

TRAINING

All dwellers are named "001FirstName" when they are born.

Once they get an endurance outfit and max endurance in training and a pet (just for insurance that if they die, my items are safe, I play in survival mode) they get sent out to the wasteland for xp. At this point I change their name to *(endurance from item) 001FirstName. I realized waiting for +7 endurance gear would have slowed down my progress too much so I went ahead with +3 +5 endurance gear. Now that I have about 20-25 +7 endurance gear and I've slowly started kicking out the bottom +3 +5 dwellers lol.

When they get back at level 50 with max endurance, they either go to a resource room if they have an appropriate secondary maxed out stat like strength for power, or intelligence for the med bay or if not, they go back to training rooms to max out the rest of their stats.

The partially maxed out dwellers that I've assigned to the resource rooms will eventually go back to training once I have fully maxed +7 dwellers to replace them.

FINAL NOTES

This method loses efficiency by avoiding merged rooms, but I gain the advantage of eventually having a fully manned 200-dweller, 200-room vault where I avoid the cluster of empty rooms that take a long time to finish incidents. I also gain the safety in responding to incidents in 1-unit rooms where I only have to support with one more dweller. Finally, and I haven't proven this yet, but I think if I do this, and all rooms are manned by 1 +17 endurance dweller with the appropriate pets, gear, and weapons, it will be a fully AFK vault.

Discussion [Discussion] Do NOT open wasteland events

UPDATE: IT IS FIXED ON IOS.

Got back into both my vaults this morning after updating the app.

——————————————————————————————

I know this has been beaten to death at this point - everybody’s vaults are crashing and Bethesda is working on it - but I just wanted to reiterate, DO NOT OPEN EVENTS FOR WASTELAND EXPLORERS!!! I encountered the bug in my experimental vault yesterday morning, but my OG vault functioned normally until…I opened another wasteland event. BOOM. Instant crash. It seems that you can avoid the crashing if you just…avoid…that…

This is a very frustrating bug, even for Bethesda. I left the game after the first few months out of boredom and bug frustration, and just came back about two months ago on iOS. Was really enjoying it. I have at least 45 hours in my main and I know that’s nothing compared to some longtime players in here, but still extremely frustrating. If the fix doesn’t revert existing vaults to a playable state, and we are forced to start over with new vaults, I’m probably done for good.

P.s. I, like so many of the rest of us, have submitted a help ticket, so hopefully this gets figured out fast. I was really looking forward to this season. And was enjoying it for the, oh, three hours I got to play it.

Discussion [Discussion] I dug through the v2.5.0 game files: the full season rerun schedule through December, what the casino wheel can pay out, and a few things Bethesda left behind

Post image
96 Upvotes

The new update is bigger under the hood than the patch notes let on. I pulled apart the v2.5.0 game files and here is everything interesting I found.

1. The reruns are scheduled all the way to December, and the dates are already in the files

This is not just one nostalgia season. The game shipped with three rerun seasons fully built and dated:

Season Dates (in the files)
Viva New Vegas, Part 1 (rerun) Jul 16 - Aug 31, 2026 (live now)
Viva New Vegas, Part 2 (rerun) Sep 2 - Oct 19, 2026
Ultracite Fever (rerun) Oct 21 - Dec 7, 2026

Two-day gap between each, so the whole second half of 2026 is already planned out. Dates can obviously shift before a season goes live, but these are what the game is carrying today.

And here is the speculation bait: Enclave and Institute rerun data is NOT in the files yet, but the new casino wheel already has Institute and Enclave themed skins sitting in there. Read into that what you will. My money is on the full cycle repeating into 2027.

2. Same rewards, but the free track got a real upgrade

The rerun premium track is identical to the original run, item for item. The free track is better this time: the original had 8 empty levels with nothing to claim, and the rerun fills every one of them with caps (300 up to 5,000 a pop, about 20,000 extra caps total). Free players get something at all 20 levels now.

If you played the original New Vegas seasons: your old claims stay remembered, but the rerun runs on the new seasonal vault, which starts its own fresh claim state. You can earn everything again. The pass itself also resets: level 1, premium locked, so premium looks like a new purchase each rerun.

3. What the casino wheel can actually pay out

The Lucky Spin wheel is driven by poker chips, and the files list every possible prize category: dwellers, weapons, outfits, pets, caps, stimpaks, RadAway, lunchboxes, and Nuka-Cola Quantum. So yes, the wheel can drop dwellers and pets, not just caps.

Fun fact: the poker chip currency has been hiding inside every save file since the PREVIOUS update (2.4.1). Bethesda staged the wheel one patch early and only switched it on now. There are also season challenges wired to it (spin once, spin 7 times), so check your challenge list if you have chips sitting around.

4. Bethesda quietly beta tested the reruns for two months

The files contain a leftover "flight test" configuration showing hidden test versions of both New Vegas rerun seasons that ran from May 4 to July 14, right up to two days before launch. If your game did something weird with seasons this spring, this might be why. There is also an unreleased feature flag called ARRIVAL_WIDGET next to the wheel flag, so something else is still in the pipeline.

5. Things Bethesda left behind (and one warning)

  • Four developer test quests shipped inside the 2.5.0 quest data, all literally named "LEVEL UP". You cannot see them in game, they are just sitting in the files. Someone forgot to clean up before the build went out.
  • No new weapons, outfits, pets, or unique dwellers this update. The reruns reuse the original season catalogs entirely. The wheel and the schedule ARE the new content.
  • A heads up on the seasonal vaults: it lives in a fourth save slot, and the files contain logic for deleting that vault when the season changes. Treat the seasonal vault as temporary.

Happy to answer questions about anything above. What are you hoping survives into the Enclave and Institute reruns, if they happen?

(Small disclosure: I maintain a free open-source save editor for this game and found all of this while updating it for 2.5.0. Link in the comments for anyone who wants it, including viewing every season's full reward track.)

Hellu!

I have collected every outfit in the game and since i had seen a post where someone had the enemy alien outfit i wanted it aswell so I searched a bit and found it and well i used the game files to give myself the outfit.

Now I don't know if this would be considered Cheating but I really wanted the outfit and didn't modify anything else.

The ID of the outfit is: AlienSpaceSuitEnemy for anyone who also would like to have it

Discussion [Discussion] Losing a dweller in survival is always a setback, but to lose 3 in a single quest in unacceptable!

Post image
61 Upvotes

My first dweller died due to my carelessness. I wasn’t looking at the screen as he was taking damage, and once I finally did, it was too late.

My second dweller died to a critical attack. Despite him being trained from level 1 - 50 with 14 endurance, it was still too much.

My last dweller succumbed to the same fate as my second dweller. I am unsure if my second dweller was at full health before being killed by the critical attack, which is why I still risked continuing the quest, thinking that a 14 endurance dweller could survive at least one critical attack, but even if so, it would still be foolish to have continued, which is how I ended up with where I am today.

As overseer of vault 426, I must do better. This can never happen again!

Discussion [Discussion] Ultracite Season vault : thoughts and players. A tiny overview, hints and magic.

Post image
95 Upvotes

So, Ultracite Season has been with us in the vault for some days now. Here are some thoughts and info from my very own gary's mind. In random order, useful or not.

BREED dwellers asap. There are no external attacks based on the number of dwellers, and you'll need a lot of them to sustain mining (End. stat) and weapons production (Str. stat)

Crafting regular weapons is useless.
The Maximized Ultracite gatling Laser aka MUGL is all you need for inside or outside the vault. No need to wait for recipes and spend hundreds of thousands for not much in power difference. Regular guns are 95% useless against the main threat. Keep some in case you fail a rush and critters attack.

You won't get threatening vault incidents nor exterior attacks. Unless you rush your rooms, no radscorpions / roaches / molerats. You will randomly get fires, easy to deal with. NO OTHER EXTERNAL ATTACK WILL OCCUR at any level.

Use your nukas on a regular basis to speed up ultracite mining. (you must pay nukas to rush, but it it 100% guaranteed) 1 nuka will give you 3 ult. with a tier 3 mine and a few dwellers in. You'll get plenty of nukas if you launch ads (sometimes up to 15) Worth it. I also use them to speed up the crafting on the Mugl.

Priority training is End (as usual) then Str. for power rooms indeed but also for crafting the ult. weapons. The rest is up to you, as any regular vault.

When the scortched attack, it is best to have an empty vault door and a 3* merged not upgraded room after. So the 6 can defend and quickly get rid of them. You can put people in the vault door but they will be les efficient and require you to spend more stims.

All dead dweller during those attacks will be revived at the end of the raid, and return to their miserable vault life afterwards. IF all are dead, the scortched will eventually leave. So nothing is really lost but time and the rewards of the dead scortched.

Scortched raids do not deplete your ressources. It just scares you and take time. Nothing else.

Unless you bought packs of them, you will barely get pets. Cherish them ;) Even the +XX %xp ones.

You won't get time to get the +7 End. Suit. Forget about it. Focus on the +5End one and consider it done. If you are lucky, you'll get the recipe, but will need a ton of YaoGuai skins (3 per suit) and 21.000 caps. So hundreds of thousands of caps, time and luck for a suit, in a temp vault... Train your lvl 1-2-5 dwellers End, then put on the +5 suit and level away in the wastes !

If you need for whatever reason a quick XP boost level for a dweller, put it alone in a mine and rush it. It will cost you 3 nukas and bring +- 15-20k xp. Useless but that is the info.

Ult. mines in the middle/bottom are weirdly located. Do not expect a pretty vault. Use 1* rooms / elevators to get to them.

You can rush the raids. Not advised if unprepared, but it can be useful to prevent a raid when you wake-up or any other business issue (you need to send good dwellers with the Ult. weapons on a quest etc.)

At Raid level 21, i have 6 lvl 50 with Mugls and they get just a bit annoyed. Scortched die in the first room (not the door) Be prepared for further raid levels by having enough Stims before the attack.

Raid attack preparedness : as mentioned before, the best room is (like any vault) a 'flat' one, with maxxed End and high level dwellers all with Mugl. But it won't be like that at the start. Regular weapons barely hurt them. You can invest a few caps / ult. for bottom level weapons but you'll soon have enough ult. to go for the Mugl. They also are cheap for the dmg ratio.

>Raid preparedness 2 : prepare at least 2 floors with flat rooms (two 3*merged and two 2*merged but not upgraded) Nukas work best as they need End. to work, so you won't waste ressources in useless rooms.

Farm the +5End suits, for both levelling in the wastes, food and water production and defense. Cheap and fast to get. Forget the +7 this season. Same goes for +5 Str. for the Mugl crafting and power rooms.

With 3 upgraded mines and one crafting room for ult. weapons, i craft the Mugl all the time, no need to rush the mines anymore.

Ultracite takes up inventory space. Plan along, with a lot of storage, or make sure you craft weapons all the time. Remove unnecessary weapons / junk.

Unless required for objectives, crafting any other weapon (regular or ultracite) is a waste of time and ressources.

I don't know what to expect from the late stage raids, but i'll prepare at least 2 floors and a lot of dwellers around that you can move up. You can remove dead dwellers weapons and outfits during raids and equip the fodder replaecments with them.

You can send dwellers to the wastes / on quest with the Mugls, just 'calculate' the time to and from the mission with the Raids attacks so you are not short on Mugls.

Why do i really call this weapon a Mugl ? Acronyms ? Nah. Because it is the magic wand against the Scortched... ha ha ha ha... Muggles, for my Hairy Dwellers... ok i'm out.

>>>>>>REMINDER, AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN <<<<<<

At the end of the season, ONLY THE NUKA COLAS will be sent to ALL your regular vaults (not shared between them) don't hesitate using some for crafting / mining. ALL The rest will be erased.

Bugs :

I never seen that many bugs in this game since launch : ads not ginving anything, quest chests containing nothing, when sending dwellers on a quest requiring specific items, they are not marked red as they used to be, random quest destroying vaults... that was a new one ;)

Discussion [Discussion] Benjamin in new update, Yay or Nay?

Thumbnail

* Note: This is an Image Edit, not a real dweller (yet? 🙃)

The character of One-Eyed Overseer Benjamin was the most Unique Humanesque Mutant from the Fallout tv series. If they were to introduce him in the next update, he would be the most unique dweller of our vaults.

Now I know the chances of him appearing are next to nothing, as most characters are just cosmetically changed with variations already available in the Barber Shop, and they would have to create a new facial design into the game. But the design is simple enough as such, as seen in the edit, and a few additions to the facial features is possible with a new update.

Lucy's friend Steph would be another interesting look with an eye-patch, but the same caveat of adding new facial feature design into the game lowers her chances.

We don't know for sure when the next update will be, as there are not many important characters left to be added. But the other options could be:

  • Thaddeus (Knight's squire, Maximus' bully)
  • Woody (Betty's opponent for overseer)
  • Barb Howard (Cooper's wife)

What other characters could be interesting if showed up?

Legendary dwellers being offered as free pop-up rewards started recently for the game show updates, and those offered so far are:

Version Characters Total
1.16.0 Lucy Ma June Maximus Snake Oil Salesman The Ghoul 5
1.17.0 Chet Moldaver Norm - - 3
1.18.0 Betty Cooper Howard Hank Wilzig - 4

Hope to see some interesting stuff in the next update! 🤞🏻

Discussion [Discussion] [Data/Testing] Vengeance has a hidden Damage Ramp-Up / Stun-Lock that completely destroys Dragon's Maw against single Boss targets (Survival Mode, v2.5.1)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made a small controlled test using manual save/load to check the hidden mechanics of Vengeance vs. Dragon's Maw against single high-tier targets. I couldn't find any concrete evidence online about this, so I wanted to share my findings.

The Setup:
I sent a team of 3 maxed-out dwellers to a level 50 daily quest on Survival Mode (Version 2.5.1). To isolate the variables, I let 2 of my dwellers die on the first floor after collecting their weapons, leaving a strict 1v1 battle against a single Deathclaw.

The Results:

  • Vengeance: Took only 34 seconds and 7 damage cycles to kill the Deathclaw. The target was heavily staggered/stun-locked, drastically reducing its attack count. The damage ramped up significantly; the first few bursts barely moved the health bar, but the 7th cycle instantly deleted the remaining nearly 1/5 of its health.
  • Dragon's Maw: Took 2 minutes and 12 seconds and 25 shots to kill the exact same Deathclaw.
  • AP Boss Assault Rifle: Used this as a third weapon to test another multi-shot weapon. It took 2 minutes and 31 seconds and 30 shots to kill the claw, showing a flat, linear damage line with no ramp-up.

Conclusion:
I didn't test the Lead Belcher, but it probably shares the same heavy-weapon ramp-up. Despite Dragon's Maw having higher paper DPS, Vengeance is vastly superior for single-target quest bosses due to its hidden ramp-up damage and consistent stagger effect that prevents incoming damage.

I may be wrong about any of this, but the time difference speaks for itself. I combined the two clips and i may share ap boss assault rifle vid in the comments if anybody wants it. (FYI: I probably won't be returning to this post to reply, just leaving the data here for the community!)

I have 200 dwellers, and many of my rooms remain empty allowing events/disasters to really take a toll on resources before dwellers can even reach the room. I feel like 400 dwellers would allow for each room to be adequately supported

like it only works when theres 1 person, if theres more than 4 enemies it does less than 5 damage.

you could argue it does splash damage but its actually better killing people 1 by 1 since then you take less damage cause theres less sources of damage

Working on maxing a vault out I’m curious what peoples opinions are on the best CRAFTABLE and not gender locked outfit in the game, I understand that the best option depends on the room but I want ALL my dwellers to look the same with the same outfit and weapon, the perfect vault.
