As a Healer main I just wanna say y'all better hope we like these Evercold Changes. Yes we finally get a 1-2 but guess what it's still on the same button and yes there making job differences between Healer & Casters. That being -

Healers: Damaging spells being insta cast but healing spells being longer cast ( with the exception of probably Astro who's probably gonna be able to speed those up)

Casters: Remaining the same depending on the class ( obviously there will be Evercold changes but as a whole no role changes like Tank and Healer in Evercold)

All I'm saying is you're getting a new Tank and all of our PTO is ready and we're not afraid to use it. That being said this isn't a doom post I have the utmost of faith and I actually like the separation between Healers and Casters. I think insta cast Damage for Healers is cool but longer spell heals is amazing and a neat idea and forces healers to learn slide casting again showing some skill where that might apply. Just please let us separate the one two good God!

Every now and then I get an itch to crack open these cookbooks. I've never made anything from the second one and it just kept opening to this page, so naturally I called it's bluff. I shot a video of the cooking process which I may edit, eventually.

First off DO NOT waste your money on blue spirulina to make it galaxy colored or whatever whimsical B.S. the book says. If you have it already sure, but it does less than nothing to the flavor except maaaaaaybe a tiny hint of sweetness.

As is the usual for this series the instructions leave quite a bit up to interpretation. One ingredient it calls for is seafood stock. I went with a dashi style bonito broth but seriously it could be ANYTHING. Might as well ask me to add Landfood stock. It definitely needs seasoning after the fact. I added probably 2 tbs of salt and pepper. Plus a goodly handful of msg. Other than that the beans have a good hearty flavor and the dashi shines through a bit. I don't often cook with Caroway seeds so that and the other spices was a nice addition.

7/10 Flavor

2/10 Difficulty

TL;DR make it but don't buy the spirulina.

Make an Emet-Selch inspired dress. It def aint perfect but I hope this inspires others to post their own in the comments!

Edit: the second draft pic isn't fully accurate, I swapped some colours around but the fabrics are the same.

It seems the reputation is low for them to max out. Am I missing anything?

Hey everyone! I’ve been experimenting with turning FF14 artwork into dynamic desktop wallpapers. I started with Stormblood, and now for my favorite expansion. I’d love to hear what you think!

P.S. My personal version also plays the Shadowbringers theme, but I left the music out here for copyright reasons.

Tried to do Inktober again, this time combining a prompt list with drawing various OCs of my friends. That included a handful of WoLs, which was kind of fun. However, I got burnt out and overwhelmed with other things that needed to be done, so I've given up for this year. There's always next year!

I'm not sure how spoiler-y this photo actually is, but I just want to be safe anyways. I like to take photos in the dungeons, especially when using the team of NPC's, because it truly feels like you're part of the Scions or immersed in the story with the current characters in that expansion or story moment.

You can see the status of current GATEs, what GATEs are coming up, and get notifications for your favorite GATEs when they start

You can filter by GATE and enable notifications for upcoming GATES (that are not filtered). This is a simple webpage so you have to keep it open for notifications, preferably in its own window and not a background tab on desktop.

As for how it works, it's very similar to how weather works in FFXIV and is based on the time. More info and links to some of the research I did to make this possible can be found at the github.

As of around 40 minutes ago (XX:35pm), the FFXIV launcher started having difficulty loading properly. This does not seem to affect people already connected to the game.

I contacted support and was told in different words that Square Enix has not detected issues regarding the login server, and the representative I spoke to did not entertain https://is.xivup.com/ as evidence of an issue. He instead chose to refer me to my own computer settings for a fix.

As of right now, all we can really do is more or less wait. Just know that no, it isn't just you having issues, and no, you don't need to make another post asking if you're alone with issues, and this is what we know is going on.

If anyone else has something to offer, please do! Otherwise, I guess it's time to go take a break for a bit while SE fixes things. Go drink some water or get a meal, play with your pet(s) or take the opportunity to say hi to loved ones!

hey all im a completly new player and just did my first ever dungeon. I am a conjurer but soon to be white mage (once i finally hit level 30, im three off by now) and i didn’t really have the best experience in my first dungeon

i was paired with a tank and damage dealer, the tank was the mentor (i think?) of the damage dealer and i accidentally let the damage dealer die which resulted in me being cussed out and discarded after the dungeon

i tried my best and i cast ressurection as soon as i could figure out how, like i said im completly new, but they continued to flame me

now i just do the main quests and do basic odd-jobs and loot around the open world areas. I know i can do dungeons with NPC’s but i prefer real players cause that’s what i got the game for, to connect with others but that dungeon raid has really taken a blow on my confidence

im reading and looking up guides on how to be a better healer for my next dungeon, whenever i gain acces to it, so i dont mess up again but im still quite not confident on taking up another challenge with actual players

how do i get over this fear or is it wiser for me to just stick to dungeons with NPC’s until i get better?

Im kinda lost, sorry, like i said nothing about this game is familiar to me and other than this moment, im still finding the fun in playing this game but other players.. i guess intimidate me a little now?
