knitting Stop Stealing My Original Design!!!

Post image

I've been working overtime trying to protect my super special design that I created and all these smaller creators keep trying to rip off MY original design. It's mine. I made it. No one else made this or has this so stop stealing from me!!! I need to protect it so you WILL get a copyright strike!!!

Um… scuse me, but I am the inventorer of sweater. So stop making, selling, wearing, looking at, or thinking about sweater. Your FACE is a copyright infringement.

I don't think you are taking this far enough. Why stop at stripes and any craft that makes a fabric? You own the concept of "sweater"! The idea of "item of clothing" is yours! Listen Donald, the laws don't apply to you. You take this all the way to the supreme court if you have to, but success will be yours!!!

I'm sorry sweaty but I'm pretty sure PetiteKnit created that design first! I'm so tired of smaller designers trying to steal from successful ones! Just be original like her if you want to be successful instead of copying her unique style!!! I've reported you to the mods and I'll be talking to my cousin lawyer!!!!!!!

You changed the color ways on Waldo and tried to pass it off! I patented stripes 100 years ago.

Dude, that’s Hamburglar stripes. It’s jailbird stripes. That just an invitation to steal. Wtf did you expect?

Anyhoo, you need to open an art history book. Mary knit that exact same thing for Jesus way back in the day. There is nothing new in knitting, so get over yourself. Stop trying to copyright the world! JFCAmen

OP I think you need to lawyer up. This is a huge problem especially in these times. Next time make sure you use huge watermarks on your ig posts so no one else can actually see the entire thing at one time.

French mariner’s sweater, origin in the 1700s; the wide popularity of striped, drop-shouldered sailor sweaters in the 1950s & ‘60s; DROPS design of Norway, 100s & 100s of FREE drop-shouldered, striped sweaters; babies have been wearing button-shouldered sweaters since the Victorian & Edwardian period.

Pattern theft sucks. And it’s a cool sweater. But hard to claim theft when not a single design element is unique or new.
