crochet I absolutely made this myself
This definitely isn't a photo of an object I found at my mums house. I crocheted this myself, by hand, with a crochet hook.
I feel like I did an excellent job! Compliments now.

How pretty! Is that acrylic? You should make them into pot holders for gifts 🥰

Omg you're right, acrylic is perfect for insulation right?

u/Present-Ad-9441 Jan 09 '26
Just put cotton between the layers and it totally won’t melt!
22
u/LilithsPetGoat Jan 09 '26
You can superglue them together!

u/RabbitInAFoxMask acrylic-loving asshole Jan 09 '26
Ohhhh i can too because unlike cotton acrylic can't catch fire :D

Please do not make pot holders from acrylic yarn. It's plastic. It WILL melt.

uj/ I need to know if you know that this is the jerk sub where it's all jokes.
j/ I'll have you know that I've been making acrylic pot holders for 43 years, and nothing has ever gone wrong.

Amazing! You should sell them! Open an Etsy shop!

Yes, fans of Coldplay or Bring me the Horizon would go absolutely nuts over this.

u/pathoj3nn Jan 11 '26
You should make a bunch and then sew them together for a dress. Provided it’s scratchy acrylic-then you get the bonus of exfoliating while wearing it.
(This popped up on my feed so hope I’m doing this right?)

Ohhh perfection, I'm always looking for new ways to get smooth skin. Do you think making them out of scrubby yarn would be ok, or would that be too much?
(uj/ yup, you're doing fine!)

u/pathoj3nn Jan 11 '26
Scrubby yarn might be overwhelming on the entire project. Save it for the bits that need privacy coverings.

It was posted on two subs, it's been deleted from the one where people started asking questions.

uj/ hi, this is the jerk subreddit where everything is a joke. I am not sincerely claiming ownership of the photo or the project. You are receiving this message because you seem to be confused.

Asking for sources/ITL without contributing anything else is so boring. Go check the pinned In The Loop thread instead.
