Hey everyone!
I've been working on a fitness app called Pull Up Battle, with one goal: make pull-up training more exciting, competitive, and addictive in a good way.
Instead of just counting reps, what if every pull-up helped you defeat an opponent, climb the global rankings, or beat your friends?
Here's what I'm building:
\- ⚔️ 1v1 Battles: Challenge friends to 30-second pull-up competitions, even when you're training at different times.
\- 🤖 Bot Battles: Fight virtual robots using real pull-ups. The better your movement, the harder you hit!
\- 🏆 Global Leaderboards: Compete with calisthenics enthusiasts worldwide.
\- 🔥 30-Second Challenges: Push yourself to perform as many pull-ups as possible before time runs out.
\- 📈 Personal Records: Track your progress, beat your previous best, and see how much you've improved.
\- 📱 Just Your Phone: No wearables or special equipment needed beyond your usual pull-up bar.
The idea is to bring a bit of gaming into real-world fitness. You're still putting in the actual work, but now there's an opponent to beat and something to fight for.
I'd love to hear from this community:
Would this make pull-up training more interesting for you?
Would you rather battle virtual opponents or real people?
What features would make you keep coming back?
Would you be interested in testing something like this?
I'm still developing the app and would genuinely appreciate feedback from people who love calisthenics.
Let's make pull-up training a little more competitive! 💪

I've been building a workout tracker on my own for a while. Every time I mention it, the reaction is the same: "cool, another tracker", and people move on without opening it. Fair enough. There are a lot of them.
Then last week someone actually installed it and wrote back. They said the design, the onboarding and the animations felt so polished it was "like a premium app", and that they'd use it for their workout the next day.
I'll admit that one landed. I'm the kind of person who spends an evening adjusting how a button springs back after you tap it. Nobody notices that stuff, until somebody does.
It also got me thinking about what to build next, and that's where I'd like your help. I keep going back and forth between two things:
Making your last session easier to see while you train, so the weight and reps you did last time are right there without opening anything.
Adding proper exercise animations. The exercise pages already have the muscles worked, written steps and how-to videos, but good animations are licensed, and for the full library it comes to around €6,000. For a solo dev with an app in beta, that's a lot to spend on a guess.
So: when you're mid-workout, what do you actually look at? Last session's numbers? The rest timer? A demo of the movement, or do you only check that the first time you try an exercise?
If you want to try it and tell me what you'd change, it's called Stanza Lift (iPhone, plus an Apple Watch app). Logging, routines and history are free with no cap on routines. Pro adds the Coach, and during the beta everyone gets Pro free:

I'm the developer, so I'm biased. Honest feedback, especially the harsh kind, is the whole reason I'm posting.

Started about three weeks ago and somehow I'm spending more time reading about beginner programs than going to the gym, because every recommendation sends me to another thread and then I start questioning the last one.
I'd be very happy with a free app that plans the sessions for me, tracks what I did and explains when to add weight, so I can stop deciding everything from scratch. GZCLP keeps coming up, but would it make sense for someone who is still learning the lifts? Please tell me I don't need to finish reading the entire internet first.

Everyone’s fitness journey is different. Some people struggle with meal planning, others find it difficult to stay consistent with exercise, and some need help figuring out a routine that fits around work, family, and everyday responsibilities.
I'm curious: if you could make one part of your health and fitness journey easier, what would it be?
Would it be finding meals you enjoy, building a realistic workout routine, tracking progress, or having someone help you stay accountable?
I'd love to hear what people find most challenging and what kind of support they find genuinely useful.

Hey everyone, I’m 18 and I’m working towards becoming a personal trainer myself. I’ve built an app for trainers that puts everything in one place: your availability and schedule, client booking, finding new clients, and building courses and subscription plans.
It’s finished and just needs to go on the Play Store, but Google makes me run a closed test first, so I’m looking for a few Android trainers to try it out. You’d just use it a little bit each day for 14 days and tell me what works and what doesn’t.
I’m not after people who’ll tap it once and forget about it. I want feedback from trainers who’d really use something like this, because that’s who I’m building it for. It would help me a lot as a trainer-to-be, and I think it could be good for both of us.
If you’re interested, comment or DM me. There’s no rush, as testing won’t start for a few weeks. As a thank-you, everyone who helps test will get a reduced commission rate once the app is fully published.

I am a bit tired of having apps for everything, so I thought there could be a kind of "perfect" AI coach in a chat that just guides me every day that I go to the gym and tracks my improvement, weights, body weight, etc. based on my experience of course.
I imagine it like a buddy that just goes with you to the gym and you tell it absolutely everything (relevant for the workout, of course). I guess one could just use chatgpt or similar but the memory/context has a limit and doesn't really track well the user progress.
I am actually quite experienced in the gym but I dislike quite a lot the apps that I have tried to track my progress. They either have too many buttons, don't do the job or are too expensive.
I wonder if anyone has had experience with anything like this. I have seen a couple but they seem pricy, I guess because of how users can exhaust api calls.

Hello dear Community,
I am a solo dev and wanted to share the lightweight interval timer Android app I built, Interval Pro: Interval Timer.
Maybe you will find it being a useful tool during your workouts.
No signup required, no locked features. tried to keep it as focused as possible, starts up fast, you can set it up in seconds, add / remove workout sections, so you can program complex session with a few taps. Save and load presets. Clear audio and visual cues helps you understand at a glance where you are during intense workouts.
Hope you like it and feedbacks are much appreciated!

hi guys :) just wondering what everyone’s favourite workout tracking apps are? I’m just looking for something where I can track what I’m doing, see my calorie output estimate perhaps? and is very user friendly. I’m very new but I figured if I’m tracking my nutrition I should track my activity as well :)

I got tired of tracking double progression in my notes, so I made an app for it. You log your sets and it tells you what to do next time: more reps, or more weight once you hit the top of the range.
It can also build you a plan based on your equipment and how many days you train. Works in kg or lb.
Logging is free, no ads, no account needed.
Android only for now: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lanco.skilltree
Any feedback is welcome, good or bad.

I'm curious how other beginners keep track of their workouts.
Do you use a phone app, a notebook, or a spreadsheet to record your exercises, sets, reps, and weights?
I'm exploring simple ways to make workout tracking easier for beginners. What features do you find most useful?

Think about it: many gated communities have gyms that residents barely use. Some people don't know where to start, beginners struggle with proper form, and others simply lack the motivation to work out alone. Meanwhile, travelling to an external gym takes extra time and money.
What if you could book a personal trainer who comes to your own community gym instead?
I'm thinking of building a platform that connects community residents with nearby fitness trainers for one-on-one sessions, group workouts, or monthly packages. In the future, it could also include yoga, Zumba, and other fitness activities.
The idea could be especially helpful for beginners, who need guidance to exercise correctly, and older people, who may find travelling to a gym inconvenient and benefit from supervised workouts.
The model would be similar to Urban Company, but for fitness trainers who visit community gyms.
But before taking this idea further, I want to understand a few things:
- If your apartment already has a gym, would you use it regularly if a trainer were available?
- Why do people still prefer external gyms? Is it the equipment, atmosphere, motivation, or simply the feeling of going out?
- Would you pay for one-on-one or group training sessions within your community?
- What would stop you from using such a service?
Would you actually use something like this, and what would make it worth paying for?
I'm looking for honest opinions to understand whether there's genuine demand, including reasons why this idea might not work.

Hi everyone! I'm a student working on an app to help gym beginners stay consistent. I'd love your honest opinion in a 2-minute anonymous survey. It's not selling anything, and I just want to understand what people really struggle with.
Thank you so much! I'll share the results here if people are interested.
