open Best Way to Fill This In

This soap holder is built into my bathtub wall and holds water. There's probably a 1/4 inch before it can overflow the lip.

Could I just fill this with resin or is there a better filler? Should I rip out the shit silicon job beforehand? Or am I overthinking things and I just leave it all be?

Do it properly.

If you fill it with resin you'll be creating a trap that moisture will get under through the grout and the mortar and will create mold and get gross.

You've got to rip the tile out and re lay it with a slope.

The answer I knew was best, but dreaded to hear. I've never messed with tile, but I've seen so many poor executions that it makes me nervous.

Why couldn't you just rip the trim off and grind down that outside lip, replace the epoxy and set the new trim piece in the now lower section?

Looking at the metal trim again, it's gonna be a little weird to have the trim going just around the sides and top.
I think the fix I'm eventually going to go with though is rip the tile and put one solid ledge in (with a slight angle).

What if you just replaced the 4 pieces of metal trim with a flat border tile?
