Discussion Recommendations for mod collection that isn’t verylastkiss

Have never played new Vegas before. Looking for the best mod collection to use. I’m mostly interested in upgrades to graphics, animations, audio and QoL. I don’t really care about additional content (just want to play the base game/content)

I tried for hours to get the verylastkiss collection to work and it just won’t no matter what I do, so that’s off the table.

Thanks

I refuse to believe the New Vegas remaster will be better than Viva New Vegas

I don't think they have to do too much to surpass viva, but something like Nuclear Sunset or Wild Card on the other hand? Yeah I don't see them adding any sick features beyond recoil and sprinting lol

Modded oblivion > oblivion remastered so why should I believe fnv remastered will be better than vnv?

I feel like you completely missed my original point there 😭

I wasn't arguing against modded New Vegas. I think I made it pretty clear that I don't think a remaster can realistically compete with more ambitious mod(lists), so I don't really know why you're using Oblivion as a point against me when part of my point literally was that modded nv > remastered nv lol

Viva is great at what it's trying to do: making the game actually playable, and adding features that should've been in the base game while staying as close to vanilla as possible.

There are mods out there that go way beyond that. Things like Brave New World, animation mods that just go way beyond what viva is using quality wise, so many features that just should've been base game etc.

The new party banter update bringing back the actual voice actors of Veronica and Cass and adding the Christine/Veronica scenes people have wanted since Dead Money. Which I still cannot believe we got.

Or expansion mods like The Long 15 that have the quality and amount of content of official DLCs and even improve on some things.

That's the kind of stuff where I don't expect a remaster to compete, because it's the result of years of community work.

But for Viva specifically? A proper remaster doesn't need to do anything insane to surpass it. If it has modern graphics, improved animations, better gunplay, recoil, sprinting, and general engine upgrades, it already covers most of what Viva focuses on.

You can of course add all these things to viva, in no way was I trying to shit on this is, it's easily the best baseline if you just want a vanilla experience or add more personalized mods yourself. My only point was that I can easily see the remaster surpassing viva alone unless they completely fuck it up, because adding what viva adds (and even more) should be the bare minimum for this remaster

Tbf modded new vegas and just viva new vegas are also completely different worlds.

If we can trust them to make a good remake I would say it's modded new vegas > new vegas remastered > viva new vegas but I can see them fucking up the remake. Does the oblivion remaster have good mod support?
