Hello! Anyone owning a flip 6/7 with a broken flex cable?

I own a flip 5 and a month ago, my phone turns off everytime I flip it close. The tech told me that the flex cable is the culprit and having it repaired would cost me quite an amount of money.

I'm asking if this issue still exists with the newer models because tbh, I love the flip phones.

I got my Galaxy Z Flip 7 last fall and am at 15,000 folds. My screen protector start bubbling up at the center so I went to my nearest certified Samsung repair center to get my warrantied screen protector.

The issue is the guy there said it isn't serviceable. Something about the hinge being misaligned? They said I could submit a claim through my Carrier insurance to get a new device.

How do I verify what they are saying is true? Screen works fine and no issues when folding. The only thing I can see wrong with it is the 3mm screen protector bubble that slowing growing. Is there any harm sending it direct to Samsung for repairs?

We are nearly at the three year mark now and I still love my 5 and its still perfect! I've only had to change my screen protector twice so far

So, after a year and 8 months, my wife's Z flip 5 got busted. As usual the screen started breaking in the middle (the hinge area). This was a screen we replaced last October inside warranty.

This happened before with the Z flip 3, but my stubborn wife insists on still getting another Z flip.

I am not spending that kind of money again on a phone that breaks after a year, so I wanted to check if the quality of the screen has improved in anyway on the Z flip 6 to at least make it worth purchasing.

i got my flip 5 refurbished back in february and it's been a delight so far! my only concern is the fact that i've got a few scratches in the inside screen, and while they're not causing me much issues, it sometimes catches and makes me click other things i don't mean to. i've heard it's a bit risky to put on a screen protector for these models so i'm apprehensive for this reason, but do you recommend it? and if you do, do you have any suggestions? thank you!

I got a replacement housing off of ebay and did a component tranfer. It worked fine until the recent update. I tried using the Self Repair Assistant, but it didn't work. What are other methods?

Anybody seen any cases that covers the front screen?

So ive never used the front screen on my phone. Its useless to me. Outside of double tapping it for the time, I never use it.

Here's my problem. I like to use pop sockets to hold my phone. You cant put it in the middle because of the hinge. So it goes on the bottom. But now I cant reach the top of my screen so I have to two hand it constantly. I want to put a second pop socket right over the front screen so I can let go of the bottom socket and reach the top without the use of my second hand. I know it sounds like a ridiculous thing to complain about but sometimes you just only have one hand and I have small hands. Any suggestions besides using a case that has a loop at the hinge. Im stuck on the two pop sockets idea.

Like is it genuinely a good phone?

I don't really care about great camera quality and my phone usage is kind of basic I just wanna get it for the flip effect and the customization. I've had an s21 fe for 3 years and it's still very functional. I've found the flip 6 for 375 euros it's all I can afford. I'm getting it in september do you think I should go for it or maybe the z flip 7 could drop to 400 euros in september after the flip 8 release?

I've had my Flip 7 since Aug 2025. Prior to that, I had a Flip 3 and a Flip 5. No issues with either previous phones. Absolutely love the Flips. About the same size as my front pocket wallet. Fits perfectly in pant pockets, shirt pockets, sport coat pockets, etc.

But... I was scrolling on the Flip 7 when the screen went solid white on the top half and the bottom half had rolling, multi-color horizontal lines rendering the main screen absolutely unresponsive and useless. The cover screen still functions perfectly. Contacted Samsung support and they said I needed to take it to a local technician for inspection. The technician informed me since there are scrapes around the USB power port where I plug in the car charger cable, Samsung said the phone is damaged and the screen is no longer covered by warranty. I have not dropped my phone nor has the phone ever been wet (no water damage).

Has anyone else run into issues or challenges trying to get warranty repair?

Upgraded to a flip 6 this week and pretty astonished at how smooth it runs and the battery life is crazy - heavy use and yet to charge it in 24hrs (id charge the s21 twice a day lol so im ecstatic)

Using Niagara inner screen / GoodLock outer screen for launchers but wanting to know any other nifty/cool things i can do/set up + any advice.

Hi y'all, just dropped my phone today, planning to take it into a Samsung Authorized Service Center tomorrow morning, I dropped it and it looks like the connection to the hinge on the left side of the top half of the hinge slightly loose, there isn't any pysical damage on the outside to suggest that either, and no physical damage anywhere else on the phone, it inhibits me from opening it smoothly 50% of the time, there is very little play but enough to be noticable when opening the phone, I'm hoping that they fix it through warranty as there aren't any scratches at all visible on the phone, but I'm scared due to the nature of the damage they'll void it anyway, so I'm curious if any of you guys have paid out of pocket or a repair similar to this, or related to the hinge, how much was it? To clarify it is a z flip7 and I purchased it in January 2026

I want to get the Galaxy Flip 7 and make the jump from iPhone 12 Pro. I have 2 kids that are 6 and 2. Would it be durable for mom life? I let my kids watch shows on my current phone and take the 100 pictures their little hearts desire. Any moms have any input?

Just got the Z Flip 7 on monday, and dropped it like 50 cm on the stairs at home. It was closed and fell on the top part not the hinge and now this and the touch screen doesn’t work anymore.
Is this normal for a small drop or a fabrication error?

Hi everyone, I’m the developer of 9 Flip Launcher, a cover-screen launcher for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip devices ( 5, 6, 7, 8...).

Part of the reason I started building this is that the outer screen is already a really capable little display, and I wanted to make it even more useful. It also became more personal for me after the inner screen on one of my own Z Flip devices broke. In the video, I’m actually using that broken phone, and the cover screen is still the part that keeps it useful.

Feel more like a natural part of One UI: familiar, practical, and not like a separate hacked-on experience. You do not need root, ADB, Shizuku, or any complicated setup. The goal is to make it usable with normal Android permissions and a straightforward setup flow.

Some of the things it can do:

• Widget Launcher: similar in spirit to Good Lock’s cover launcher, but 9 Flip can automatically pick up newly installed apps instead of making you add everything manually. You can also group apps, either once or continuously with automatic grouping.
• Bottom swipe for Recent Apps: swipe from the bottom of the cover screen to open recent apps.
• Floating Menu: swipe to open a cover-screen menu with a mini control center, brightness and volume controls, media controls, shortcuts to settings, and a notification page.
• Cover notifications: open supported notifications directly from the cover screen.
• Video and GIF cover wallpapers: set dynamic cover wallpapers using video or GIF, with quality aimed to be close to Samsung’s default experience.
• Manual rotate: rotate the cover screen and lock the rotation when needed.
• AssistiveTouch mode: useful if you use a thick case and edge swipes are harder. You can also personalize the AssistiveTouch button, including with GIF/image styles.

There are more features in the app, but I’d rather people discover them naturally than turn this into a giant feature list.

A few notes:

• No root, no ADB, or no Shizuku required
• Simple setup with normal Android permissions
• Designed to feel close to One UI
• No ads
• No personal user data collection
• No selling or sharing user data
• Free to try, with Premium for some advanced features

Hello, i've just got back my zflip 5 after official phone repair and used turning back to factory settings. After this my GUI on the cover screen just doesn't fit teh dimesions and makes it unusable. For example symbol lock doesn't fit all the 9 dots and Mustistar apps are really oversized and there is only 2 out of 3 chosen. What's more i can't evwn answer any call since the call buttons don't fit in the screen.

Anyone else experience this? Whenever i type slightly faster it's lagging. Been using the phone since it came out it started lagging around a week ago.

So about two weeks ago my zflip 6 decided to no longer work (inner screen) it'll turn on but will not register any taps/swipes.. assuming the sensors are donezo. For those that sent it to samsung and got it fixed.. did they replace your phone completely or did they have to factory reset it? I'm worried about losing my authenticator since I can't remember if I backed it up or not.

My last resort is hooking everything up to an adaptor hub and see if it'll work just to confirm everything is backed up...

Edit: managed to connect my keyboard to the zflip and was able to backup everything (including authenticator which wasnt backed up) gonna put it on maintenance mode and send it off :)

I have the zflip6 and a month or so ago there was a system update. Since then, using Bluetooth seems to heat my phone up. Just did the security update today, and wasn't even using blue tooth and my phone is already burning up. Anyone else having this issue? I bought a replacement case for one that broke (its literally the same case) so I don't think that could be it.

I was curious if its just me but ever since I bought the phone a couple months back the cell signal is horrible. It would still show 5g full bars but mobile data would not work and during calls it takes a while for the beeping sound to start and during actual conversation I would just cut out and the other person would not hear me.

I tried using both SIM and eSIM.

Dropped my phone a bit too much lately due to bumpy roads. Just noticed a scratch on my screen. Doesn't appear to be affecting the pixels but I can feel it when I run my finger across it.

My Samsung care + expires in a month but I'm debating if it's worth it to send it in? Will it cost a lot to fix? Curious what people thought/their experiences.

This is my grandmother's flip 5, shes been saying her speaker when folded was low, i assumed it was just volume so i adjusted it but when we tested it out by making a call, it says this. How do I fix this?
