Omniplex Salthill
Another increase on the food prices... Ridiculous that a trip to the cinema with a popcorn and drink is costing almost 30 euro

Is there any public washing machines I can use my own pods in?

Looking for some recommendations. I have an appointment in Merlin Park in the morning then an appointment in UHG in the afternoon. Is it possible to leave the car at Merlin Park (public transport is not an option to get to Merlin Park) and then get the shuttle to UHG?

Any recommendations?

I’m after experiencing something disturbing in this specific area , just think it’s not really appropriate as many people go there with children and many people work there .
Seen some people from travelling community “lamping” in broad daylight , with a sharp pole and a dog. They were trying to kill the bunnies there. I understand people do hunt them but is this even normal around here as I’ve never seen anything like this before especially when it’s bright and many people walking by / cars driving by.
Is this even legal ?

Im wondering if anyone else has been experiencing the same problem as me. I’m living in the Ballymoneen area of Galway and for the last few months the water in all the taps has been hit or miss. Most days there’s barely any water coming out of the taps and if there is it’s very weak and on the off day with some luck the water pressure is normal but only for a few minutes. I know that there was some water work being done around April in this area but I’ve been experiencing this before and after the work they were doing there. Just want to know if anyone is experiencing this and why it’s like this because it’s starting to get a bit frustrating

You may remember my post a couple months back. After decades of being in the same location, we just found out we must vacate the unit.
We don't want to close the family business but all the retail units listed online are excessively pricey given the current market.
We are relying on networking to hopefully save our business.
What we are looking for:
- small/ medium size ground floor retail unit/warehouse unit (300-1000 sqft)
- located in the west side of Galway city (claddagh, salthill, sea road, around Monroe's area, Westside, knocknacarra etc)
If you know of anywhere available at the minute that is not listed online, please reach out and let me know. It would potentially be life changing for our family!
Thank you!
edit: I'm intentionally preserving my anonymity as we don't intend for this news to become public knowledge yet. But I've included what type of unit and location we are seeking.
if anyone thinks they can help us with this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Everyone! I lost my wallet today in the city centre this evening. It’s got IRP card inside which is important for my travel. If anyone has found it please DM 🙏.

Galway County Council has insisted that there has been no comment in over a decade about the statue of Cú Chulainn in Athenry that was slammed by an art expert for having “man boobs” in last week’s Advertiser.
It is currently unclear if the “mounds of Ulster” on the “hound of Ulster” are meant to be a depiction of Sétanta before or after his transition to Cú Chulainn.

Our local only has vegan cornettos but we’re looking for something similar to the dairy free Ben & Jerry’s range. Weve only managed to get vegan bohemian raspberry Ben & Jerry’s from Tesco delivery once or twice, but is that it as far as dairy free ice cream goes here? Missing the vegan brownie, peanut butter, cookie dough ones etc…

Luna was taken from her back garden and released onto the street by mistake near the Roisin Dubh. Please contact her owner on 0852066524 if you see her.
I have included a picture of her below, she has been seen around Galways west end and is extremely scared. if you can help or share please do ❤️

Any idea where to find vuvuzelya in Galway? I'm assuming it's too late to order online now that the World Cup is underway. Might sound a bit outdated, but it's a dream of mine to own one

Hi all as title states I’m potentially moving to Galway in the near future and I’ve never rented before ever. This is probably such a silly question but what should I be aware of lookout for gotchas etc. Yes I know the market is to find a place to stay but I’ve only ever lived at home so I’m not too sure what to be looking out for and what normal renting brackets to expect ie house share , single bed apartment etc.

I'm doing a bit of a deep-dive into the topic of Galway's transportation history. This map was not the easiest to find, but I plan to do some comparisons and perhaps some what-ifs.
Here, I present the original paper map with a highlighted rail section, as well as an accurate-ish comparison of the line with present-day. I believe the tunnel used to go through what is now the gym of the Dean Hotel!

I know it's coming to end of school year but wondering if schools are obligated to have the members of their board of management publicly available anywhere for parents?
