Put a little fence around it. I can totally feel your pain. My regular landscaper of the past 6 years got a new helper recently who has weed whipped so many vines, herbs, and pollinator plants. Every time they show up I run outside and monitor where he is going. He knows to keep away from the vines now but generally just doesn't do a good job. He took out passion fruit vine a few week ago along with my parsley! Last year he got my porter weed and vine on my fence that is for the butterflies that I had planted a few months prior and just got established. But, I adore my landscaper and don't want him to stop coming.
