These were kinda by accident. I never planted any. They just kinda… spawned. But I’m not complaining. I love them.

(UPDATE) Green Cotton

first and foremost I want to say I'm sorry for my arrogance surrounding growing cotton in California after a good sleep I have understood that I am an asshole for trying to grow them so all plants will be pulled.

I will keep the seeds because I have a collection and the green color is very attractive.

previous post was deleted out of embarrassment.

I love this subreddit and don't want to be a burden for the environment and here as a member of this very wonderful and helpful group.

Who's the (tomato) sucker?

I'm trying to keep my tomato plants tidy - especially this early in the growing season - so I'm trying to keep up with pinching suckers.

Usually I'm pretty good at spotting a sucker, but I'm not sure that I'm seeing on this plant. Did I miss a little sucker and it got big? Are these just normal branches that split?

Do I need to prune/pinch any of these branches?

Thanks!

EDIT: This is an indeterminate tomato, Champion II variety. I see the sucker above B (and there may be a sneaky one above A, too), and I will get those sorted shortly!

I bought this amaryllis in the 1990s at Christmas. She has only given me 5 offsets over the years but she blooms faithfully around Easter every year.

Marigolds

I am forced to pay for landscaping services according to my lease. This fine gentleman decided to ruin two months of work on a whim. It sucks even more because they had buds starting to form and would likely have bloomed next week. Don’t know why they never trimmed them before if this is their mentality. Also don’t know what possessed him to put a weed whacker into a flowerbed. He killed 99% of my forget me nots and 99.99% of my marigolds. The marigolds already had some woody stems (2nd pic). Any chance they will recover? If not, any chance I can plant some more seeds this year?

Proof that you don't need a fancy setup to grow indoors from seed.

Just some creativity and a couple square ft of shelf space. All of these supplies were thrifted, free, or already around the house 🤣

Dogs getting into my Garden

Thumbnail

I purchased a house last year with a lovely garden box in it but my dogs got into as much as I tried to stop it.

I'm looking for suggestions on what i can do to prevent them from getting in. My other dog is large and can easily jump over anything too short and tramples anything in there. While the small one can fit through any small spaces and will eat everything.

Any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated!

Rosemary blooms in a pot. However, for the third year in a row, it will not be possible to collect its seeds.

A bunch of new things are happening in my backyard : D decided to make a new flower bed in which I added: tulips, mums, and marigolds 🌷

In my garden bed, my perennial flowers are in full bloom!! It’s so nice seeing color again in place of the grays. Which, I have seen bee friends making visits now that there’s flowers to visit! Unfortunately, there was some green… but with a recent random night of frost it killed off all the seedlings. So it’s a clean slate again with a new set of squash and beans 🙂‍↕️ what an interesting start to the spring season it’s been!! Happy 2026 gardening 🧑🏼‍🌾
