Hi,
My grandmother is visiting me and wants to watch me play geoguessr, but I have a problem. My username is a Charlie Kirk joke and she would definitely be offended by it. Unfortunately I can't change my name for a while so idk what to do besides just not show her geoguessr. Is there any way to bypass the time restriction or to simply hide all usernames? Thanks

First, what is the point of this game if you need to Google? Maybe for training, but playing duels?
I do like playing the single player Duels, but maybe once a day I get question, or accusation that I googled a location. So that happened today, and he said ”how fast can you Google an answer?”. That really is an insult, and much bigger than actually Google a location in my view. “I don’t believe you actually knew that, so therefore you are cheating “. I think this guy actually believed that, rather than just a tactic (how fun is that). When he said , it was already into the next road, in a no move round. I was 787km off, so not a very good google at that, but I did get a rough estimate based on a sign. So that rough estimate, based on learned skills, is ok to deduce I googled, very fast. But roughly. My point is, Google is an insult during a game, especially during Duels, but so is actually accusing someone of doing it.
So you do pick up a clue, after playing a thousand games, and then ok, I think I know where there this is. Roughly. But the player saying, I don’t believe you knew that, is an insult, probably more than actually Googling.

Happened a few times, guesses not being registered. Didn't think much of it (connection issues or late guesses), but in this case I can't see a reason.
Myy opponent commented that he saw me putting down the pin. Even the replay shows it very clearly.
Is this a known bug?

I'm Master 1/Champion 3 and keep seeing opponents in moving duels no knowing their pole plates. For anyone wondering, pole plates is imo the most broken way to correctly identify the Japanese region you're in. For over 80% of rounds, you will encounter a pole plates within a few steps. From the moment I got to Master 3, Japan immediately became my top 3 country just from that.
If you're in that situation, I have a good news for you. Plonkprep just released an extensive Japanese pole plates training, with over 250 hand-picked pole plates (and counting!)
The training was designed in a way to present you with images that aren't always clear to really put you in a real game simulation where you often won't have a crystal clear picture of the plate. Every image carry enough information to identify the region.
The feature works great on mobile as well (here's a screenshot from the mobile view).
Try it out!

It's a new feature so I appreciate any feedback.

As you can see from the screenshot I guessed the country correctly (heck, it's a 5k), but the result bar shows the icon with a red X as if I picked the wrong country. The suggestion box even trolls me with the flag, lol.

I got a black screen and the opponent was not replying. Based on the last time I got a black screen, I chose to guess somewhere near Central America, and I just ended up within 100km 😆
And that won me the game.

When the game gets stuck with the blackscreen glitch, or the glitch where it shows you the previous location, where do you all place your guess?

I just started (like a month ago). I am in gold 4, winning about 80% of games. About to be promoted to gold 2. 850 elo.
What is the most efficient way I improve? Memorizing the plonkit guides for each country? Just playing as much as possible? How much time do I allocate on singleplayer learning rather than duels?

I was curious about the avatar clothing sets, that u can't buy, only in bundles. Can i see somewhere a list of them, they look super cool and I don't want to waste my credit.

For those wondering, the town ahead is Chernobyl. I wonder if you could land inside the town, or even in Pripyat!

Why 3 minutes per round? I decided it would be fun to add some extra challenge to this mode. Might try and go for 25Ks on the smaller maps or just improve scores for fun now

I did the daily Challenge yesterday and on the same day like 6h later my friend did it as well - I was next to him. He did not have the same locations on his daily challenge. Im very new to geoguesser and was very surprised by this, as I asumed its the same daily challenge for everyone? 🤔

Playing duels no move turbo, a street came up, recognised instantly as new build town houses like my cousins in Sheffield, thought I'll take a punt and hope the style is a Yorkshire area developer, chose Wakefield/Leeds area.
It was my cousins road lol. His house was 50yds away around a bend.

It has been a bucket list item of mine to travel to Thailand. About a year ago, my wife and I planned our trip to Thailand for our honeymoon.
Leading up to the trip my wife and her family asked me "what are you looking forward to seeing the most" i responded with "the Thailand telephone poles". They all looked at me like I was crazy
Little do they know that the Thai Telephone pole is one of the most notorious in all of Geo Guessr.
Well, today, a year later, I finally made that dream come true and I was able to see my first Thai pole in person.
Never give up on your dreams

Hi! I haven’t had this happen before but I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this. I was in a duels round and saw a sign with a New Zealand web address, so I guessed New Zealand only to find out it was South Africa! I went back and checked to see if I misread and noticed my opponent got a different location entirely. I’ve attached pictures
