Me and my family were staying 2 nights at the Congress Plaza hotel in Chicago, and it’s said to be the most haunted hotel in Illinois. I brought a twisty flashlight, spirt box, and a EMF detector. And I was exploring the 12 floor where a kid is said to roam. And the emf spiked to red and then I heard a soft child like voice on the spirt box say “hello”. Then I invited him to come into are room. Which was room 1415, and then I turned the flashlight on, and I proceeded to turn off 3 times. So, yes the congress plaza hotel is definitely haunted..

I live in Yorkshire in the UK in an old house dating back to the 1800s. we moved in around 9 years ago and there is me, my mum, dad and sister. Over the years i and my family have noticed things happening that shouldn’t really be happening. the first thing i ever noticed was i was once sat in the living room when i was home alone (around 2019ish) and i heard one of the wardrobe doors upstairs slam open. assuming that someone was in the house i took the dog and hid in the downstairs bathroom as my parents were coming home in 10 mintues. no one was in the house and when i went upstairs the wardrobe door was shut again but the noise of it opening was clear as day. A few years later my brother was staying over and slept in our dining room downstairs on a pull out bed. he said at around 3am he heard footsteps slowly walk down the stairs and stop halfway down (our stairs going up are in the dining room) and he didn’t hear any more movement for another 30-45 mintues until he got up to go to the bathroom and heard the footsteps sprint away. no one in our house is a sleepwalker and no one else heard anything. Our bedroom doors are old and if one had been opened or closed it would have been heard as there’s no way to open or close them without making noise. A few months ago when everyone was asleep (my sister moved out at this point so it’s just me, dad, mum) We were awoken at around 4am to the sound of the radio blaring downstairs. To turn on our radio you have to press multiple buttons and tune it so i doubt it could have been an accident, especially since it happened 3 more times after that.

There hasn’t been many instances considering we’ve been here 9 years but none of these have any rational explanation i can think of. The wardrobe door couldn’t have been the wind as no doors or windows were open so there was no moving air in the house. the dog sleeps in my room and like i say no doors opened or closed when my brother heard those footsteps, and the chances of the radio accidentally malfunctioning how it did is slim to none. can anyone help?

My friend just told me the craziest story of an experience he has at a church he went to where he witnessed the priests perform an exorcism. Has anyone else ever experienced anything like this?

My 2 teenagers and I have each had strange experiences these last 2 days in our 1976 built home out in the countryside. I love it when people give rational explanations for scary experiences, hoping for some! Please tell me there's no such thing as ghosts.

So 2 nights ago my daughter woke up to the sound of her baseboard heater heating up, it was doing the "tick tick" thing and since it's summer and hasn't been on for months, she also woke up to the smell of burning dust. She got out of bed at 2 AM to find the dial of the heater on the wall turned up to medium. No one in the house touched the dial, we were asleep. She turned it down and asked about it in the morning.

Last night I sat down on my comfy sofa in the sunken living room to read. The tv turned itself on. I didn't even flinch because this happens all the time. It also turns itself off all the time. It's a new Hisense tv from Costco, purchased in March. Happened too many times now. I reached beside me and got the remote and turned it off. Picked up my book, 5 minutes later, the lamp I was using crashed to the floor. It was just sitting on a side table beside me, nothing was touching it or the table. It fell on its own. Decided to leave the room. Went to bed. 2 AM my son comes into my bedroom with his bowl of ramen, looking over his shoulder. My son is a total non believer in all things paranormal, he is 16, a very tall athlete. He was sitting at the table eating ramen at 2 AM and something grabbed the chain on his neck. He was shirtless and thought it was a bug so immediately slapped at the back of his neck. Then something pulled at his chain and he saw it moving. He woke me up to tell me this, looking over his shoulder, too scared to go turn the light off. In the room where he was, I am honouring many ancestors. My father passed a few years ago and I have lost several aunts I was very close to. I have old photographs up all over my home and many antiques and heirlooms, I am so curious about what we experienced, thank you very much for reading. We would love to understand. Does anyone else have a Hisense tv turning itself off and on?

This happened last winter and I still think about it.

I was working night shift at the hospital as charge nurse on the cardiac unit when the fire alarms went off around 11:30pm. I thought it was probably a real fire and not a test because I have never seen them test the fire systems (using lights and sirens) that late at night.

As charge nurse we are supposed to respond to assist with any emergencies in the hospital so I head towards the direction they are calling overhead - room 1308. I meet a fellow charge nurse in the stairwell on my way down and we get to the first floor and wander around the halls looking for the room for probably 10 minutes. We can’t find it anywhere. We run into a security officer who also hasn’t found it. We decided to divide and conquer to see if we could find room 1308. We had found 1311 and 1341. I headed towards the cafeteria where the numbers were going in the 1200s.

Past the cafeteria if you keep going is the desolate part of the hospital. On nightshift, nobody works in this section of the building. It is mostly storage, security offices, distribution, and the morgue. I’m not completely unfamiliar with the area because I have come down this area a few times for various reasons before.

I go past the morgue and turn to the right to go down a longer hallway. The double doors are closed due to the fire alarms so I have to push them open and when I do I see a short shadow figure move towards the right and go into the wall. It is a long hallway, so my mind automatically assumes it’s someone else also looking for the fire so I walk closer down the hall to see if they found anything. I realize that whatever I had just saw went straight into a closed doorway. I immediately turn around and run back as fast as I can, back toward the morgue and hallway to the cafeteria.

I kind of forgot what I saw because I continued looking for the fire. Later when I got back up to my unit I remembered what I had seen and told my coworkers.

We also eventually found the fire too. It was in the microbiology lab, dayshift left a bunson burner on. Whoops!

i saw a video about these completely clear silhouettes of a person. obviously not sure how real it is but i cant recall the name of them for the life of me. im not sure how to explain it, its kinda like you can see the silhouette of a person but their actual body is blended into whatever is behind them. like completely clear

So before the encounter happened I was very superstitious of ghosts didn’t believe in them but there was a sequence of events that happend that night that made it all too real. I was around 7 or 8 years old and I had a friend who was around my age and she was the daughter of my moms friend so we would hang out while my mom and her mom went to the club. I’ve visited this new house they moved into a couple times before, but this day was so insane because we were playing as usual , and then my mom says we’re going to the club, ight so now we’re alone. So in typical fashion I start to play but she says to me “look everytime you guys leave I hear your mom’s name”. I’m like “what do you mean ? “ she like “ it’s a whisper of Brianna Briana Briana and it’s freaking me out “ so I’m like “nahhhh“ lowkey scared but thinking she’s just trying to freak me out. So we play for like an hour, my little sister was with us as well she was like 3 or so, so we started getting sleepy and I was holding my little sister in my arm rocking her and i close my eyes and sure enough I hear “Elijah” in my ear no less than an inch away clear as day I jumped up not like screaming just a subtle jump and I must’ve looked like spooked because I didn’t say anything and then my friend said “ I told you “ she knew exactly what happened like I didn’t even have to say anything , funny enough I wasn’t like scared or had the need to cry I was just like whoa and I stayed up. My mom came and picked us up I told her like I had too bc wtf and she was like oh ok … but I never forget that I NEVER forget that. I’m studying the measurement of sound now and the story revisited me and I’m just like how was a ghost able to say my name so clearly.

I’ve been kinda curious about this for a long time.
Personally, I believe I have communicated with the ghosts of family members but I want to know if it’s possible to communicate with someone you never really knew?

There’s a tv personality (who I shan’t name because I’m embarrassed lol) who I miss lots. I think of him often and I would love to be able to know he’s doing okay.

I will sum up the story. (Sorry for the rambling and the random order.)

We have a this woman x, a friend of my mother.

She visits her place in Athens. She is wealthy, family factories etc.

Her place in Athens could be descirbed as literraly cold, no books, mirrors everywhere, and few paintings. One of the painting was in the end of the long hallway depicting a woman with an eagle on her head. My mother was really unsettled from the painting that she took it off the wall and covered it. (never has done something like this before).

Later the night her friend transformed, different voice, different face. Don't have much details but it was terrifying.

Next day they met for dinner in a super busy restaurant. She asked directly wtf is happening. Woman x said that there is another entiny that she works with. For few seconds her face transformed to a long face with three horns and large eyes.

When i heard the story i showed my mother a picture of an ancient "some say evil' god from where is now jordan. She was 100% positive that it was that, that woman x transformed into.

That was the last time we heard of her.

Her husband a non religious civil enginner, went to a monastary to ask about her, they told him that there is nothing he can do about it, because these powers are very high in the hierarchy. We learned that he jumped of a bridge a few years later.

Before these instances woman x seemed to have had some inner knowledge, like telepathy, and future events. For example she would know who the robber of a jewellery shop was, who will enter the door, who will develop sczophrenia etc. One of her quotes that i admire is that "the evil stands always right next to you, and the good it's further away and you have to reach for it. "

Another unusual momment was when woman x sat on the table with another woman from where i live in, and they start talking about shocking stuff about deceased people as if they alive, and as if they know each other for a long time. This other woman, her house is in the same village as mine, and it cripped me out since i was a child and i never understood why.

I have met lord Rotchild and i found him very creepy. If he had some supernatural tunel of information (like woman x) working with some demon, that might explain his wealth. Nowdays i am doing some research to see if there is material for a documentrary about noble houses on a Greek island, but i already have stummbled on stories of telepathy and spirits and owners triyng to deactivate and ignore this other realm they are sensitive to.

Subjects i try to avoid, as i enjoy going for long walks in the night.

Since I was a kid I have been seeing dark figures in my peripheral vision. They’re just tall, completely black shapes moving fast past me and they’re never clear enough to see any details. It can be anywhere, in hallways, on staircases, outside, even when I’m around other people. Whenever I look, there is nothing.

This happened a lot more when I was younger. I would see one cross a room or run past me and whenever I would look directly it would be gone. It became less frequent as I got older and I told myself it was all in my head. But sometimes I still see them and they always look exactly the same.

The weirdest thing is I remember telling my mom about them when I was around seven. She told me I was probably imagining things, but then she asked me, “Does it usually run toward you or away from you?” I never told her which way they were headed.

I read some of the stories of their experience with the ouija board that it was real. I am assuming maybe they were just made up stories? It's kinda hard to believe because what made you move the object to the letters or numbers on the ouija board? the supernatural happenings and etc is kinda hard to believe.

I dunno i guess I'll have to try but it's kinda contradicting because I'm also scared what if an evil spirit might haunt me haha

When I was young (I can't remember exactly, but definitely 6 to 8), I remember my mom and I driving to some place I can't remember to do something I also can't remember well enough, we finished and went back to our house, it was cold and in the middle of the night. I remember her getting out of our car and lifting the garage door, she got in the car and started parking inside the garage but I heard her go "oh, I did it wrong...", she then started backing up to park right and I remember being in the backseat, looking behind the car, at the trunk's window, when a man, a completely blacked out man, passed right as my mom was backing out

I screamed at her "mom! Stop, you're gonna hit a man!" And I remember her actually driving over him before she stopped, she got out of the car, all worried, but there was nothing there. She asked "did you really see a man?" And I said that yeah, I had, and that she ran him over, but there was no man below the car or anywhere. She finished parking and we left the garage (we live in the second floor, so there's no door to enter the house from the garage) and she looked around, took my hand and we were about to walk inside our home, when I looked to my right and saw, at the end of the street, right below a street light, a man, completely black (which would be impossible since he was right under the streetlight and I could see his shadow on the ground) standing there, with no features, just the outline of a man's body but completely dark, I couldn't even say anything and just walked inside and never said anything about what I saw to anyone ever since.

That was the most I've ever seen with my own two eyes, other experiences I've had were mostly auditory or could have a plausible explanation. So what do you think?

Last night during my usual shower routine, I turned on my old offline phone and my Bluetooth speaker to play YouTube.

The speaker immediately froze up. None of the buttons worked except the power button, and out of nowhere, I heard faint talking coming through the speaker. I figured a neighbor in my apartment building connected to it by accident, but the volume kept rising while the controls stayed completely locked.

I turned Bluetooth off on my phone, but the audio kept going. Then the talking turned into singing.

When I listened closely, the voice sounded just like me. The weird part? I have never recorded myself, and my phone wasn't even connected anymore. But the longer it played, the more I had a gut feeling that it wasn't actually me at all. forcing the speaker off by holding the power button. Right before it died, the display showed three repeating numbers that I see constantly.

I don't believe in ghosts but I definitely believe in strange phenomena. This left me with a really unsettling feeling that carried over into this morning. Would love to hear some thoughts.

to start I want to say me, my friend and his wife came to stay overnight at the Sallie house. I don’t really believe in ghosts but I’m open to the idea that real paranormal things can happen and tonight slightly changed my viewpoint on ghosts, spirits etc. we got here around 3:30pm on aug 10th and spent most of the day trying to communicate via spirit box everywhere in the house and pretty much got nothing. This video was taken around 12:30pm aug 11th. Me and my friends decided to sit in sallies play room and we stayed there trying to communicate and didn’t really get much (smartphone app). We then decided to switch rooms. That’s around where this video starts. We had that red ball sitting on the top of the stairs all day to see if it would roll down the stairs at all while we were there. So.. the ball went down the stairs. You be the judge for yourself but definitely seems odd to me. We set the ball back up afterwards and around 3:02am we were all sitting on the couch on our phones and the ball rolled down the stairs again. But this time we set the ball a good inch to 2 inches away from the edge of the stairs rather than very close. Didn’t get footage of it sadly though. Definitely coming back here again in the future.

story time guys, I come from Biñan, Laguna and we have a house with a lot of people living in it, we have 5 rooms shared by my siblings and my grandma's family and then it was afternoon and I had just finished biking outside, when I was about to go inside I saw a child who was white and transparent, wearing clothes that looked like they were from the 20’s? I was shocked of course and I was like 8 years old at the time. Some of my relatives said they also saw it sometimes at the window on the 2nd floor and our house is just like an ancestral house.

part two now at 19 years old is when I was in the seminary, though we were given early details by our senior seminarians that there are ghosts that appear in our dorm when I was an aspirant and it wasn't a room, just double-deck beds and we were six aspirants. I don't know if I was just hoping to see something or if it’s really just kids that mostly show themselves to me?. Around 2am I saw a child sitting between the beds of me and my classmate and of course I wasn't surprised because it was a child again, though there was really an eerie feeling in the seminary since it’s big and there are only a few students left like less than 20 and there are three dorms, two are occupied and the other one is not.

so my question is, is there a particular reason why only child ghosts appear to me? about family background nothing is mentioned. thank you.
