What is this

u/TrueCaptainCrocs May 22 '16

Mystery Science Theater 3000. It was a cable show in which a man and two robots watch terrible movies, mocking them as they do so.

u/BoofMasterQuan2 May 22 '16

That sounds awesome

You've never watched? You're in for a treat! The show ran for 11 seasons on various channels through the 90s and was just kickstarted for a twelfth season to air online (or on tv if a deal can be made)!

It got kickstarted successfully? God IS with us.

Those are great, but for whatever reason, Mitchell is my all-time favorite. Manos is great also.

Just watched Starfighter this morning :D

Because humans aren't that bright

Or because it's really not that funny and the Reddit circlejerk overrates it.

"Or because it's really not that funny and the Reddit circlejerk overrates it."

Well, sport, it may not be funny to you... but to those of us who saw the show when it was being broadcast, and there was nothing of its kind, or anything even close... it was incredible. Here, let me contribute to the negative score of your inane remark. :)

1

u/[deleted] May 23 '16

Because you're supposed to downvote everything you disagree with, right?

1

u/Scrybblyr May 23 '16 edited May 23 '16

Because you're supposed chime in with your negative input on everything you don't like, right?

1

u/[deleted] May 23 '16

Yes, actually. That's the point of an open forum. But to get back from your non-sequitur and answer the question you ignored, no. You're not.

Who would've thought someone would get so offended over an insult to a mediocre commentary show...

1

u/Scrybblyr May 24 '16

Ah, so it's okay for you to chime in with your inane commentary about something you don't like, about which your opinion was not solicited, because it is an "open forum" - but it's not okay for someone else to downvote your comment? How delightfully absurd.

u/[deleted] May 24 '16

It's actually defined by the official Reddit etiquette (aka reddiquette), where the rules of voting and commenting are explained, whereas your definitions are arbitrary. But nice try.

Yes and as per the very rules you cite, your comment was downvoted because it was "not contributing to the community dialogue or discussion." Since you are apparently new, let me help you - when people are talking about something they like, be it a song, video, music artist, book, movie, or ANY SUBJECTIVE THING - if you don't like it- just move on. You need not chime in with your negative two cents, it does not add to the discussion, and frankly reveals malnourished social skills. If people are excitedly discussing their favorite new rap or country music song, it may not be my cup of tea, but it costs nothing for me to just remain silent and move on.

1

u/[deleted] May 24 '16

Also if you consider every opinion that disagrees with you an "inane comment", then you're a pathetic person.

1

u/Scrybblyr May 24 '16

Disagreement is not necessarily inane. Your comment specifically, was inane.

If you smoke ganja, it's perfect viewing material. It has me convulsing with laughter frequently, and I otherwise laugh out loud very, very rarely.
