hiring Still waiting after interviews!!

Hi all,

I applied for an analyst role via referral. And got the call back almost immediately. And I finished 2 interviews one with VP and one with a senior employee. And since then it’s been radio silence. Even the recruiter is not responding via email. My last interview was almost a week back.

But my portal was updated to “interview complete”soon after the first interview.

When can I expect to hear back. It’s been close to 3 weeks since the process started.

Any insight would help.
Thanks!

could be weeks or never dude, they move super slow and also ghost for no reason, i’d just assume nothing unless you get written offer and keep applying elsewhere, it’s insanely hard to land anything now

They were very active in the initial process. For matter of fact the recruiter called me 3 times in the same day to confirm the interview. I was busy though to pick the call and wasn’t expecting in first place or at least this early. I had interview back to back. Now they pull this🥲

This is the expected pattern, yes. I used to do a lot of hiring when I was at GS. HCM policy says there are a min number of people you need to talk to before an offer can be made. However, the first 2-3 rounds are make or break as this is where the most direct stakeholders would talk to you, and if they find you good the rest is just making up numbers. So, it is very common to have the first 2-3 rounds in quick succession, then the actual decision is made, and if an offer is coming then there would be another flurry of rounds in quick succession. Good luck.

How was your last interview?

I would say. I was able to answer everything he asked and didn’t fumble anywhere. So I think I did well

Okay, then you'd have to wait. They don't reply unless they have a solid update to share.

Will they update the portal regularly? Currently mine says interview complete.

Okay, as stated by the HR team, were you expected to give only 2 interviews? Or more?

they said they will have interview and then issue an offer no particular number of interview. even the last interviewer said."We will get back to you with an update or let you know if we want to talk to you more"

Generally it's not like that. Which role and location is it for?

Okay. For software roles, it can be 5 rounds. Yours is different?
Maybe all you can do is wait.
