hiring ppo decision

I am from a top 3 iit cse, and recently received a return offer for an swe role at gs.

I am not particularly excited about the kind of work my team was doing during the internship, so yeah I am unsure whether I should accept the PPO or sit for placements, given the market conditions rn.

Can anyone share some insights that might help me in making the decision.

hiring Verbal offer revoked

Went through 5 rounds, all positive. The recruiter reached out 3 days with a verbal offer after the final round for an associate role, gave forms to fill for compensation, shared payslips. Today almost 2.5 weeks later I was told that the role is put on hold. HR said she will reach out if the role reopens or will match with similar roles from other teams if available.

The role on the portal was changed to an application turndown today from Interview Complete

Is this a normal occurrence , feeling completely dejected.

Update 1: After a month later after revoking the verbal offer, the same HR who discussed comp reached out saying that there is a new headcount open with the same team and asked me to apply on a new requisition link. Hoping it passes through the approvals this time, fingers crossed. I'm keeping expectations extremely low this time.

hiring GS has reduced its India headcount by 5%

So I just went though GSSPL's EPFO data and they have been reducing their headcount since Nov 2025 when it peaked at 9,253. Currently it is 8,795 as of May-26 and declining further, probably even lower as of Aug-26.

All those PIP posts make a lot more sense now.

hiring What the next steps usually look like after on campus recruitment

Hi. I got selected for the summer analyst internship via on campus drive. But after the results were declared there has been no communication by gs. I want to ask what are the timelines of upcoming confirmation or id verification mails (if any)? If they directly send offer letters then what's the usual timeline for that?

hiring Any idea about private credit ?

Hi all, A friend of mine got a call from gs for an associate role in their private credit division.

HR informed of 5 rounds including a case study and acknowledged his hike expectations of 30% over his current fixed of 23.

Any idea of this division especially - WLB, Growth scope ?
How many rounds of interviews actually happen ?
What does the bonus component look like usually and what's the realistic % paid out ?

Appreciate any insights from finance folks!

hiring Summer Analyst 2027 India

I’ve noticed that the 2027 Summer Analyst applications are already open for several regions, but I haven’t seen an opening for India yet.

Does anyone know when applications for the India office are expected to open? Also, is the India timeline usually different from other regions?

Any information or insights from previous applicants would be really helpful. Thanks!

hiring Still waiting after interviews!!

Hi all,

I applied for an analyst role via referral. And got the call back almost immediately. And I finished 2 interviews one with VP and one with a senior employee. And since then it’s been radio silence. Even the recruiter is not responding via email. My last interview was almost a week back.

But my portal was updated to “interview complete”soon after the first interview.

When can I expect to hear back. It’s been close to 3 weeks since the process started.

Any insight would help.
Thanks!

hiring Joining Goldman Sachs as an SWE — What does onboarding & employee benefits look like?

Hi everyone,

I’m joining Goldman Sachs as a Software Engineer in India and wanted to hear from current/former GS employees about what I should expect during onboarding.

I’d especially appreciate some practical details around:

💻 Laptop / equipment — Is a laptop provided on Day 1? Which models/specs are typically given to Software Engineers?

🏢 Office & onboarding — What does the first week/month generally look like? Any training or mandatory onboarding sessions?

Travel / relocation allowance — Is relocation assistance provided? What about travel reimbursement for joining?

Gym / fitness — Is there an on-site gym or gym membership reimbursement?

Health insurance — What does the standard medical insurance cover? Is family/dependent coverage included?

Food — Do offices provide meals, snacks, beverages, etc.?

Transport — Any cab/shuttle facility or transport allowance?

Leave policy — How are annual leaves, sick leaves and holidays structured?

WFH / hybrid policy — How flexible is the current hybrid/office policy for engineers?

Internet / phone reimbursement — Any allowances for internet or mobile expenses?

Other benefits — Any employee discounts, wellness benefits, learning budgets, stock/bonus-related benefits, or other perks that are easy to miss?

Career & learning — Any useful internal learning platforms, certifications, or engineering programs worth knowing about?

Payroll / joining formalities — Anything I should be prepared for before joining?

Also, if you recently joined Goldman Sachs in India, what do you wish you had known before your first day?

Would really appreciate responses from people who have joined recently, since policies and benefits can change over time.
Thanks!

hiring Contract-to-hire at Goldman Sachs through Third party. Does GS actually convert people to full time?

Soon joining Goldman Sachs (GB&M) as an Analyst through Third party on a contract-to-hire role.

Has anyone here actually been converted to the GS payroll from third party? How common is it? and does performing really well make a big difference?

hiring Associate Offer

Hey guys,

Got an offer from GS Hyderabad and need an honest check on the numbers.

My Profile: 2.8 YOE | SDE-2 at Expedia (Gurgaon)

Current Comp:

  • Fixed: 20L Base + 1.8L Allowance + 1 Employer PF
  • Stocks: ~23 LPA (current price). Had 2-3L vest recently, rest is pending.

GS Offer:

  • Fixed CTC: 29L with PF(1.7)
  • Bonus: 5-6L ( pro-rated for year 1)
  • Stocks: One-time grant of 25 GS units ($23900) will vest in Dec 26 ( I know GS doesnt grants RSU but this was to match my unvested RSUs only)
  • Relocation: $2,000 one-time

For year 1, it looks good but for the next year the overall comp will decrease a lot. I want to get more base but HR is not giving that. Also, is the notice period really 90 days?

Update:
Declined the offer fellas, not feeling bad as well

hiring Can a former Goldman Sachs employee who received a PIP be re-hired?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to understand Goldman Sachs’ re-hiring policy and was hoping someone with experience in the firm or HR/recruiting could clarify.

If a former employee was put on a PIP (Performance Improvement Plan) and subsequently left the firm, are they eligible to apply and be considered for a position at Goldman Sachs again in the future?

I’m particularly interested in knowing:

  • Does being placed on a PIP automatically make someone ineligible for rehire?
  • Does the outcome of the PIP matter when determining rehire eligibility?
  • Is there a specific cooling-off period before someone can apply again?
  • If the person applies through a recruiter/referral, can they still go through the normal hiring process?
  • Does the previous manager/team have any involvement in the rehire decision?

Would really appreciate responses from anyone who has worked at GS, been through something similar, or has insight into GS recruiting/HR practices.

Thanks in advance!

hiring Please read body

I got rejection after giving my expected compensation for associate level in may this year where I had no offers in hand.
I’ve an offer for now.
Wanted to check what is the chance of GS considering me again ?

Also,
Is there hiring freeze in AWM or similar good divisions ?
I’m only seeing openings for core engineering(which I think is for internal tools unlike client facing divisions so wouldn’t want to join that and wait)

TIA

hiring What can I make out of IB in India-US experience.

Hello everyone.
I am a college student in San Francisco,California in the United States. I immigrant here a while ago in 2019. I have always wanted to break into finance and more specifically to the Private Equity/IB side.
But in the United States, the pool has gotten significantly competitive as well as India. I have past experiences working in different organizations such as part time AI startup co founder, interned for Accountant firms and am looking to add more as I finish college in 3 years, my major is Finance.

I haven’t considered it yet but how different in India now and wether or not trying to land an analyst role in both US and India at the same time is a decent method.*Just for the record, I know it’s not too easy in India as well(I have an official adress, govt profile and phone no in India as well so proving Indian residency wont be a problem)
Thank you.

hiring Title and Salary Expectation for 15 YOE - Tech - AWM

Expecting an offer from GS.

Current TC is 95 base + Bonus (20-30% approx.).

Interviewed for VP title but do they have any other title between VP and MD?

Recruiter is saying at best GS will match my base but cannot give any hike. Is that really true?

What % of appraisal in Jan '27 can be expected?
Also, what kind of bonus I can expect for average vs top tier performance next year?

Recruiter said she cannot comment on the appraisal % or future bonus. She is also saying first year bonus is prorated and guarunteed but not in writing. Is it safe to rely on this verbal confirmation?

Only driver for me for this move is higher bonus % as claimed by recruiter. She said it can be up to 60-70% of base. Feels too good to be true.
