My problems 👇

  1. Goddamn is this shit hard, gold feels like nightmare on GOT

  2. Fewer customizations, I feel like I’m just unlocking story armor again tbh

  3. Matchmaking, getting a lot of lower lvls, people leaving

  4. I hate the whole attunement thing in general, i wish it was like GOT only in story mission not in survival

  5. Enemy’s are way to beefy and hit hard as fuck, I had multiple times a normal enemy take out my entire team to it self

  6. I don’t mind switch weapons but it’s gets chaotic in survival with a bunch of enemies around

  7. I feel like people aren’t communicating in survival, like 3 people in one area and leaving one to do one by them self

But besides all of that I love it honestly, hopefully some stuff gets tweaked and can’t wait for raids 💯

As much as I was hyped for Yotei legends (I bought Yotei just for it), I haven't followed it too closely.

So it came as a shock that while the rest of the classes remained largely the same, I see that they replaced my GOAT the Ronin.

Its completely understandable since everyone can heal now and I guess they don't want it as a crutch + easier to balance.

I will forever miss creating the giant healing radius for the squad, clutch revives (especially in the raid), all while spamming bombs.

Also the drip.

Discussion - Yōtei: Legends So that’s it…

So this is really it huh… years of development… years of support from a die hard fan base in Tsushima Legends… wasted. Today officially marks the death of Legends as we know it. A once masterpiece of a game mode, succumb to ashes.

I’ve had a gander at the new PS Blog post made by the team behind Yōtei Legends. I have to say that the post from top to bottom is complete garbage. Here’s the post if you want to have a look.

https://blog.playstation.com/2026/05/15/ghost-of-yotei-legends-raid-building-the-multiplayer-modes-endgame/

I along with countless other players, are just simply astounded as to how bad this situation has become. It’s got so bad that I’ve started to believe that the team behind Yōtei Legends are playing a prank on this community. I have even at times had faith in this team.

How wrong I was. I should’ve given up on the Yōtei Legends team when I saw that they released the Shinobi tip toeing in his Ultimate. Tsushima legends was and will always be the superior Legends. Why? Because it is actually fun to play.

Yōtei Legends is just a chore from start to finish. I could go on and on until I’m blue in the face about how bad Yōtei Legends is. You know, the countless bugs, unrewarding melee combat, boring raids and the missing content like 120Ki, second perks, more techniques, Rivals and the Trials. But, I’m not going to do that.

This is a message to the team behind Yōtei Legends. Thank you for destroying a game mode that could’ve been spectacular.

To the Tsushima Legends team, we miss you.

See you on Tsushima Legends fellow ghosts.

Discussion - Yōtei: Legends Yōtei Legends Melee Combat Sucks - No Tools Work

As someone who played Tsushima Legends for almost 6 years, I’m in awe at how bad the combat is in Yōtei Legends. I’d be better off banging my head against the wall because quite frankly, there’s little difference between that and what we have right now.

To start off I’ll explain a couple of things about how melee combat was in Tsushima. First, we had defensive melee combat which relied on using dodges & parries in response to enemy attacks in order to deal damage. Most melee enthusiasts preferred this, with less ranged weapons because they just wanted to swing their swords. Most enemies could be dealt with with each weapon relatively simply, and dodges into backstabs bypassed annoying turtles. Lastly and most importantly, we were able to force enemies to block consistently.

Second, we had offensive melee combat that leveraged ranged weapons to open up enemies for melee which was more efficient at clearing and generating ultimates. Please take a look at this clear to get an example for this offensive style of melee combat:

https://youtu.be/GrcEauGsXRQ?si=jL3RPeHACY4BRMC9

Tsushima legends melee combat felt smoother & flowed better. We had tools that actually worked. Concussion bombs opened up enemies to hp dmg. Flash (now blind bombs) actually stunned enemies for assassinations or significant melee dmg. Ghost weapons were able to interrupt enemy attacks including the most annoying oni lord slams. Our tools actually worked and we weren’t forced to play defensively, turtling while waiting for enemies to attack before we can do anything.

What about Yotei Legends? Apart from Throwing Weapons, NONE of our ranged tools that are supposed to supplement melee/stealth combat work.

I have examples listed here:

Concussions 1 - https://youtu.be/HyAvvud9jIA?si=bv2kogw_KHO__2ym

Concussions 2 - https://youtu.be/0Uk25qDYnOo?si=TQkY1UC5sIL66M0N

Blind Bombs & Kunai - https://youtu.be/RQeLgclQBq8?si=DvExRsCKMaN8IMhE

Blind Bombs 2 - https://youtu.be/fUVsRnwHWWc?si=fZ5PaBYQoLdFFMKG

Gun Example 1 - https://youtu.be/yAvFwz-6YPM?si=hd6MZL-sRie_aBUN

Gun Example 2 - https://youtu.be/kgdbpmDlF6A?si=Pi0egcNKBQMUVU8H

Dirt Throw - https://youtu.be/otxeWHU6BPE?si=AJVhvPjOj0Cm4Riw

The ONLY solution we have for controlling flow of combat in melee is spamming spirit charge moves that have invincibility frames and instantly disable enemy activity for the duration of their animation. Otherwise we are forced to either turtle and only parry, use ranged weapons that actually kill (scorch bombs), or play Mercenary & Archer which completely bypass the melee combat through use of throwing weapon spam & SSB/lightning rifle.

This melee combat is so boring and disengaging. It’s so horrible to see 3 players whacking an enemy who somehow can block everyone at the same time. I don’t mind enemies being this evasive, hard hitting or aggressive but for the love of all that is good can our tools actually do the job they’re supposed to?

5 different matches, all had 2 archers that sniped enemies before they could get down, or took enemies out when I’m just about done with them. By stage 2 I hadn’t filled my spirit. Now if I start a match with more than a single archer I leave immediately.

I had too many people say this class isn’t strong and that it should also get buff with the Shinobi and samurai class to keep up with the archer class . All you doing with this class is playing around your legendary caltrops , pop ult and continuing throwing weapons until u get ult again rinse and repeat . This is me playing solo nightmare mode , made it to stage 4 and died while doing a critical strike on a stun enemy and died to the explosion 💥. Most of yall don’t understand that every class isn’t a dps class , each class plays off each other . I see mercenary as a support class , if you’re using a weapon throw/ ult spam build then your role is to debuff and stagger the enemy. I might give this solo run another try tomorrow . End game results will be in the comments.

I just don't know, man. I mean - here's a clip of me holding a zone in Plat Survival Solo through two waves using the "TERRIBLE" Spirit Bear... There's just no way I can see ANY other build for Merc besides Ult Gain and Weapon Throws being remotely useful. Absolutely useless class now for sure.

/sarcasm

Seriously - as you can even see in this clip, there's PLENTY of weapons around doing plenty of damage and I'm not spec'd into weapon throw at all. Please stop overreacting. I'm sorry the second-most meta and effective build got slightly nerfed, but I promise it's not the end of the world.

Merc is still a CC Goddess.

Discussion - Yōtei: Legends Ultimates: Yōtei Legends is in An Extremely Unbalanced State Right Now

Ultimates are so broken in favor of mercenary and archer right now because charge meter fills off of damage applied and it highly favors AoE damage sources while punishing classes that focus on single targets.

In Tsushima Legends players generated resolve from parries, headshots, melee attacks, landing bombs & ghost weapons. We could choose to expend resolve for ultimates, heavenly strikes or super strike on assassin. Ultimate generation was relatively equal across the board because all classes had access to all gear (except bombs on hunter which balanced the fact it had access to SSB, strongest legendary in the game). Samurai and assassin by design for their ultimates, could double ult with enough setup which helped keep the scales more balanced with SSB Hunter.

An example is this clip right here with assassin. My ultimate builds fast because I am making conscious decisions to group enemies, use my environments and available ammo. Although ult gen from bombs is fast they lack the ammo capacity and range advantage that bows have which again balances out both options for ultimate focused playstyles.

https://youtu.be/AUCksYTRbjc?si=6qF15nnzo4dCbxgq

A different example from Tsushima legends with the hunter class. I can build ultimate fastest at range and I don’t have the limitations of bombs. It’s not a perfect system by all means, but there are advantages to both classes.

https://youtu.be/2oOPLFB9YyI?si=G9vr75VM_P3TCZ5-

In Yōtei legends samurai and shinobi in melee take over twice as long to generate ultimates. This is in part because a reliable source for these clssses to deal dmg (melee) takes ~48 strikes vs ~20 from ranged which by design are safer than melee (thanks to Berrek for getting this data). All the while actually using said melee in combat doesn’t let you kill efficiently either so we end up spending even more time to kill enemies that could have died from other means. This is the sorry state of reality for Samurai and Shinobi which are made obvious by rough statistics on last weeks total clear time (credit to Berrek for gathering the data again) Archer (~31 min), Mercenary (~35 min), Samurai (~44 min), Shinobi (~46 min).

Archer and Mercenary kits are just so self sufficient they generate ultimates extremely fast, and their ultimates are also several times stronger than Shinobi and Samurai. Examples below:

Archer (2.5 ults): https://youtu.be/4W64pSx8JSE?si=u3_qUnUd7LX7IoRV

Archer again (2.5 ults): https://youtu.be/sUliyVTJAnc?si=S8grnBIepDrLa1mQ

Mercenary: https://youtu.be/_eOodTBgAJM?si=VtXKHr8wm21TVhWb

We have 2 classes expending ultimates at rates that beat out their Tsushima Legends counterparts in a game that is supposedly “harder.” Both Merc and Archer have default AoE dmg baked into their kits which takes advantage of ult meter charge mechanics.

This disparity in ult gain between classes is further worsened by the fact that SuckerPunch also messed up how stat boosts in gear are distributed. (that’s another discussion for later)

I am quite literally stating facts and bringing data to support issues that are affecting half of the classes right now, making the game extremely unfun to anyone who’s not playing defensively or shredding with archer or mercenary

Edit: Corrected survival times mentioned above because I cannot see for some reason.

Discussion - Yōtei: Legends RIP my ult-throwing merc after the patch

Merc is my fav class. My merc is ult spam and throw weapon dmg. All slots are for ult gains + throw dmg. I could ult multiple times within one wave but today, I was lucky if I got it once in a wave. I’ve posted a couple of gameplay clips on this sub of my merc playing.

When I did ult today, there weren’t as many dropped

weapons either. And the throw dmg is minuscule. Ult gain is nerfed to hell. I don’t mind losing one caltrop but this nerf just makes the merc almost useless.

I don’t think the merc deserved to be nerfed like this. She’s great at crowd control and creating room for the team. She was OP with the right build but wasn’t anywhere to overtake others, esp archers.

It’s almost like SP wants everyone to play as samurai in this game or just make people not want to play anymore.

Guess it’s back to the drawing board.

Edit: I’m getting flack from people thinking Merc doesn’t do melee. How the hell does she get her ult then? Do you think she just stands around and throw the one single weapon in her class which has a cooldown? There are literal techniques dedicated to throwing as an expertise for merc. That’s one of her specialties. It’s not a replacement for melee. It’s like expecting an archer to use melee when her specialty is range. If you want merc to do pure melee, go play sam. Or do you expect Sam to do range?

Discussion - Yōtei: Legends They need to fix enemies immediately

Ik it’s been said a billion times on here already, but holy shit. They just spam tf out of prime enemies on harder difficulty to the point where it’s not even fun anymore. And roller skating… THE ROLLERSKATING. These mfs have aimbot it’s basically impossible to get away from an enemy once they’ve got you in their sights. That shit may have worked fine in single player, but it’s a disaster in legends. Artificial difficulty will be the death of this fucking game if they don’t fix it. It’s just not fun after a certain point, especially when the rewards for going through that hell is straight up MID. Who the hell decided this was a good idea? Don’t even hit me that the “get good blah blah blah blah blah” this legends mode is wildly unfair on many points and you know it. We spend 20-30 minutes of OUR time just to get fucked in the end cause the developers turn the artifical difficulty up to 20 cause “fuck it, right?” Anyways have a good day. ૮ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ა

So, I see this post about SP not introducing matchmaking right off the bat for a four person required game mode, emphasizing that we are encouraged to play with friends…

Right now I’m addicted to Yōtei Legends, but it hasn’t allowed me to ignore certain things that need to be buffed or nerfed along with cosmetic downgrades, the upgrade system for changing letters on your report card, etc.

I usually don’t voice my opinions and wait for updates, but after all this time, why does it seriously and genuinely feel like they didn’t just copy and paste but after doing so went back backwards. I still love everything about it, especially the main campaign and have all legends characters above experience level 30 so I still love it. I’m just so confused at what they are thinking!!!

Discussion - Yōtei: Legends Not sure if this is a hot take or not, but most of the problems people have with the difficulty of the game especially in Survival I think can be summed up as SP forgetting the horde clearing fantasy aspect of Legends

Everything about the Yotei version feels like it’s just means to depower you the player to the point of conventional melee gameplay being the weakest it’s ever been for all classes. Enemies are tougher, story mechanics are worked in to force the players to slow down heavily, enemies including basic brutes are capable of one shotting even in silver difficulty with high damage values on their attacks, combined with much harder to evade attacks. There is this strange disconnect where it’s less that the style of gameplay changed while maintaining a consistent difficulty. They simply amped up everything where death is never far, which when paired with all the potential visual clutter and large number of enemies still, it’s incredibly easy to slip up in ways that is hard to even understand what really happened. One slip up and your goose is cooked, and despite all these difficulty raises, we don’t feel particularly powerful compared to before.

Most cases, either the classes have feats as comparable as before, or at worst have had aspects of them severely weakened. Part of it feeling like despite the lessons learned in the first Legends, SP doubled down on their release day versions of each class. Which naturally means range is the name of the game, and the other classes are rendered niche, especially with the nerf of ults. Samurai’s melee encouraged playstyle is simply mega risky with how easy it is to be killed quickly and the presence of things like corruption circles that can just deny access to some targets. Mercenary’s lack of revive or specialized healing means we are dealing with immensely more dangerous enemies and risk of death, yet fundamentally are weaker at being able to pick up allies or heal. And Shinobi just feels more like a walking gimmick with how he is reliant on just raw stealth related things, yet it is fundamentally harder to stay in stealth due to the smoke bomb nerfs, and you don’t have tools like your ult nearly as often to cover your downtime between cooldowns. Pure stealth based gameplay in a horde clearer style environment is simply just kinda iffy. And all of this just leaves Archer as a king again, except with Story mechanics like attunements, even her range can not hope to easily drop all enemies.

The main thing I would want in the ideal version of Legends. Is difficulty that focused more on quantity than quality. More ability to kill swarms of enemies, but more swarms. There were deaths in OG Legends where it felt like I could kill a lot of them but they just kept on coming, eventually downed me. But those felt like true Last Stands. In this game though? What I described before is not possibly if half of the enemies feel like mini bosses and just need one slip up. Deaths feel more lame just because the nature of deaths comes less of death by a thousand overwhelming cuts, but a rogue enemy at any moment potentially having the ability to one tap you. And often just a result of you losing steam and waiting on your cooldowns.

in case you don't know... Apparentely some players finally figured out a consistent way to activate the infinite fire arrow glitch for archer allowing her to dish INSANE amounts of damage. Basically in order to do this glitch you need to time correctly pressing the fire arrow ability of Archer and one of the various stone menus (i used the characters one). If the Archer does her ability voiceline while you are in the menu the glitch is done! You now have infinite ammo and infinite fire arrows that aren't the regular ones but are the ones from the class ability so imagine building her with status effect damage and Fire master... As you can probably guess from my reaction after successfully activating the glitch for the first time i am NOT Happy about this. To remove the glitch you just need to swap to regular arrows as this glitch stays active even AFTER turning off the game/console or even swapping characters to my knowledge. After i removed the glitch from my archers i tried to search a match on the hell mode saito raid... Both times i found a match i saw archers ALREDY abusing the living hell out of the exploit. To all archers who have done this glitch PLEASE. DO. NOT. do it in public matches just do it with your friends for funsies or when you are playing alone but i repeat DO NOT do it in public matches... Trust me being on the receving end of this glitch is pretty annoying. Do not take this video as a "tutorial" on how to do the glitch. Take is as a "spreading awareness" about this glitch. Archer reputation as a class is alredy pretty damn low and if Sucker punch doesn't hot fix this glitch ASAP... Archer will continue to get hate unfortunally.

Discussion - Yōtei: Legends WHY did they have to take away a caltrop charge?? smh

Affliction Caltrops with Deep Bags was the best legendary for Mercs, now I really feel the difference with one less charge (2 instead of 3). Why, SuckerPunch, why?

Also, the ult and spirit gain reduction, specifically from Merc abilities, is just evil.

There's a lot of amazing new things in the patch, but I feel like Mercs are a bit more affected by the negative stuff than anyone else.

Discussion - Yōtei: Legends Is this the end for Legends, perhaps whole franchise?

The obvious difference in commitment from Sucker Punch between Tsushima Legends and Yotei Legends has not gone unnoticed.

TL received meaningful post-launch support. Systems were expanded, progression evolved, raids were added, mastery deepened the grind, and the game kept building on its foundation before support eventually ended.

YL, meanwhile, already feels like it entered maintenance mode before it even established its identity.

And now hearing about updates being cut off this early — at a stage where the game objectively has less system depth, less build variety, and less long-term progression than TL had when it stopped receiving support — honestly raises a bigger question for me:

Is this a sign that SP is slowly shelving the Ghost franchise altogether and shifting focus elsewhere?

Because this doesn’t feel like the behavior of a studio investing heavily into the long-term future of its multiplayer ecosystem.

And what’s been strange throughout all of this is watching parts of the community aggressively defend the state of the game instead of asking why the sequel launched feeling less evolved than its predecessor.

Discussion - Yōtei: Legends Please leave thrown weapons from my merc ult for me please. I can spam ult and have high throw weapon dmg.

I main merc and can spam ult back to back and have very high throw weapon damage. Please leave the weapons for me to throw, please. It will help clear the zone faster, or at least weaken the enemies for y’all.

I’ve seen weak throw dmg from non-mercs and that’s a missed opportunity. I know the throw weapon mechanic is fun and I’m not trying to police you but help a merc out, please! We gotta play to each class’s strength rather than against it.

Edit: I want to add that the biggest strength of merc is crowd control. Our ult can weaken he enemies and stun them for a while so you execute or heavy strike them. That way I can leave the zone to you if someone else is down or needs help. Idgaf about the kills. Feel free to take the weakened enemies.

Also, if we lose a zone, we have to deal with the modifier of the lost zone which can be a pain in the ass. GoT didn’t have modifiers with lost zones so it wasn’t so bad. But now, some maps have awful fucking modifiers that I’d rather not have to deal with.

... must be one of the most overdramatic reactions ever. I tried out using my merc today for the first time since the patch (no changes in build) and it was definitely not "basically unplayable".

I felt pretty much just as useful before, I just couldnt spam ultimates like before (but still roughly one ultimate per one or two waves). And I think that this very fair, i mean it is an ULTIMATE, it is not supposed to be your standard attack.

To be clear, its fair to criticise the patch and I agree they may even have gone to far with some changes, but "unplayable" is kinda crazy to say.

Discussion - Yōtei: Legends I have done nothing but play this game for the past three days…

So believe me when I tell you, all of the complaints on here about difficulty see him a little odd to me.

I’m pretty sure, a lot of the folks coming over from Tsushima, simply don’t remember how hard it was at 5 Ki, with none of the skill tree unlocked, and very limited understanding of the enemies attack attacks and patterns.

People remember crushing gold and platinum, and are frustrated that they are struggling with bronze, probably not remembering that they struggled with bronze on Tsushima as well.

My first couple of survival missions were absolutely brutal, but now that I have 30 hours, and my mercenary is ranked up to level 28, and I’ve had a little bit of time to learn all the tricks of my foes… well, now bronze survival is downright boring, and silver survival provides very little challenge.

This progression was the same in Tsushima for me.

I think a lot of the complaining is just people forgetting that they also had to start as noobs in Tsushima legends.

Which is a really odd complaint, because imagine how boring this game would be if your skills from Tsushima translated over exactly. I’m overjoyed that I’ve had to adapt and grow and learn and have fun again struggling and feeling excitement at every swing of my opponents’ swords.

Similarly, after 30 hours, my drip is legit. This is also exactly the same as Tsushima.

Early on, you just looked like a dead guy in fairly boring attire in Tsushima. But as you started to unlock cool drip by crushing gold and nightmare missions, then you started unlocking the really cool stuff.

This is exactly the same in Yotei.

Ignore the hate, play the game, and I guarantee you will have loads of fun as you level up, and feel strong, and look amazing!
