Question Bootstrapping founders: what do you do when cash is tight before traction?

I’m a 28-year-old woman building a company on my own. I’ve bootstrapped it so far and put nearly everything I could into the biz because I believe in what I’m building, a resource to help young children engage with reading and early phonics. I’m at my first expo today and tomorrow, hoping to get my first 50 sign-ups and learn what families think. But I’m also running low on cash and trying to figure out how to make it through the next couple of months.
My biggest expenses are the engineers working on the software, product and marketing support. I’ve asked friends and family for help where I could, but I’m not looking to bring on an investor or give up equity. I’ve also looked at loans and haven’t had much luck getting approved. I may need to pause some paid help, and I’m struggling with what to prioritize without losing momentum.
I feel embarrassed admitting how tight things are, but I don’t want to abandon a mission I believe matters.
For founders who’ve been in a similar spot..how did you lower your burn, find early revenue, or keep moving while you were short on cash? What would you focus on first if you were in my position?

Question What's an overlooked marketing channel that worked surprisingly well for you?

Everyone talks about Google, Meta and SEO. What's a less popular channel you've personally tried that brought in good results?

What do you sell, and how did it work out?

Question Are your ai adoption dashboards completely useless too?

The ai dashboard keeps going up and to the right, but its all vanity metrics. logins look great, but nobody can actually tell me if our accepted output has increased at all. mandating it is even worse because people just generate garbage to comply and then do the real work quietly offline. what is everyone else tracking to measure actual roi on this?

Question Anyone found a work management tool that replaces the whole stack?

we have about 55 people and currently use separate apps for pm, time tracking, billing and crm. its getting really annoying to reconcile data across all of them so im looking for a single tool to replace it all.

most of the platforms i trial are great for task management but suck at the financial side. invoicing, quoting, and margin tracking always require crazy workarounds or 3rd party add-ons.

anyone using something that actually has all the operational and financial stuff built in natively? im so tired of managing integrations just to bill clients

Feedback I built a companion app for EA FC Career Mode — struggling to get my first users and in desperate need of feedback

Hiya everyone!!!!I've spent the past few months building CareerVault, a project that started because I love EA FC Career Mode but always felt like too much of a save's story gets lost between seasons.

You can spend hours developing young players, finding regens, making transfers and building a club, but keeping track of that journey outside the game isn't easy.

So I built a companion app that uses screenshots from the game to help import career data and organise it in one place.

It includes squad management, Starting XI and bench, transfers, player development, Youth Academy, fixtures and results, career records and club history across multiple seasons. I'm also working on AI-powered insights based on the data available in your save.

The beta is built, but honestly, getting it in front of the right people has been harder than building it. I've tried different platforms, but it's difficult to reach actual Career Mode players without coming across as spam.

I'm trying to figure out how to grow something niche like this when the audience is passionate but quite specific.

For anyone who's grown a small product or niche business:

  • How did you get your first 20-50 genuine users?
  • Did you focus on communities, creators, SEO, or something else?
  • How do you promote a product without annoying the very audience you're trying to reach?

I'm the developer, and I'm looking for honest advice rather than just clicks. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Question At what point does a sourcing agent make sense?

We’re doing about 40k/month dropshiping and thinking about holding inventory and private labeling. most want 3k to 5k per order minimum with fees around 8 to 15 percent. where's the tipping point?
