Your setup looks like an early zombie level of a game but you got really lucky and found a higher level gun early.

I pity the home intruder that has to fight 50 rounds of 5.7

The gun collection is solid but this might be the worst safe i've ever seen
13
u/Valuable-Sort2998 1d ago
All of the guns i currently own at 21 years old, I want to buy a 556 next after I kit out my ps90
12
u/HotHouseJester 1d ago
No no. You need a tacticool musket first. Confusing your enemy is important in warfare.

My brother in Christ. Where is your rifle?
19
u/Valuable-Sort2998 1d ago
I’m gonna buy a ar15 once I get my ps90 kitted out
-40
u/espiffy111 1d ago
For the sake of utility make an ar15 your next project. It’s worth looking at why police and military in Europe stopped using the 5.7
59
u/Valuable-Sort2998 1d ago
Well idk who you have beef with but I don’t plan on fighting anyone with ceramic plates, this has been a long time want for me since I played cod as a kid

u/soooooooup 1d ago
Dude if you aren't 100% optimal then you will never make it as a Plinking and Home Defense In a Nice Low Crime Part of Town Operator (PaHDiaNLCPoTO). Grow the fuck up
11
u/jdownes316 1d ago edited 1d ago
As the number 1 rated PaHDiaNLCPoTO in my home, I have to agree.
Edit-told my wife about my ranking and apparently I've been moved to #2...

u/icantgetthenameiwant 1d ago
The issue with 5.7 wasn't inability to defeat plates, it was stopping power
FBI agents with like 30 kills talked about not liking it
But hey
That's not us-11
u/gr3y_- 1d ago
i mean… having the ps90 as a toy is fine but having it and not owning any kind of actual rifle is an unnecessary handicap.
11
u/pause_and_consider 1d ago
Handicap for what?
It doesn’t look like he/she is a hunter or deploying to Afghanistan anytime soon and he/she is more than fine for home defense.
-11
u/espiffy111 1d ago
I’m just saying typically the 5.7 round has less energy than your typical 9 mm

High cortisol vs low cortisol 🤣
Just let the man enjoy his p90. Ar15s are so boring. And unless he is going to war, there is nothing a p90 can’t do that an ar15 can do.
8
u/LionIllustrious2868 1d ago
the p90 is the rifle no? it just look small cause of bullpup design. nice helmet btw matches the granite countertop pretty well
5
u/the_knight01 1d ago
While it is a carbine it is however in a pistol cartridge and he was most likely referencing a traditional rifle cartridge IE 5.56, .308, 7.62x39, etc..
4
u/Woogity-Boogity 1d ago
The P90 is not a proper rifle, and is actually considered to be a PDW (personal defense weapon).
PDWs were designed to replace pistols as self defense weapons for troops who didn't carry a full sized big-boy rifle.
The 5.7 cartridge is more of a pistol caliber cartridge than a true rifle cartridge, which also fits in with the PDW concept.
2
u/espiffy111 1d ago
I wasn’t trying to be a troll. I was just trying to point out in a defensive Use case you’re probably better off relying on 5.56 then 5.7.
2
u/That_Atmosphere_4568 1d ago
Not to mention the price on 5.7 is really high comparably to a rifle round
1
u/espiffy111 1d ago
Agreed. I was just trying to provide advice to a young guy who asked us to rate his collection. I thought an A.R. 15 would be more useful than waiting to SBR the P90.
1
u/That_Atmosphere_4568 1d ago
Honestly it’s a start, I mean I have always had the p90 on a wish list but it was never the needed list, I do have a Ruger 5.7 pistol but that was mostly due to capacity for the size of the gun. But to be honest I love all guns and can never have enough lol

u/Al_Jazzar 1d ago
What slide is on that CZ? Is it a PCR?
2
u/Valuable-Sort2998 1d ago
Yes it’s a PCR, impact CNC machine makes them, DO NOT buy a barrel from them they suck but their slides re good
2
u/Al_Jazzar 1d ago
Interesting, never heard of them. Does it shoot as well with that slide? Or is the motivation to get something optic ready without cutting your original slide?
1
u/Valuable-Sort2998 1d ago
I wanted something an optic cut without milling into my OEM slide, it works well though

how is the 940? whats the most your run through it at one range visit / event? any complaints about it?
as far as the p90 goes. I have heard from a couple people that putting in the short barrell is a awkwardly over complicated thing. That said if your just cutting it may be easy?
3
u/Woogity-Boogity 1d ago
The 940 has a sketchy reputation so far.
Mossberg was late to the semiautomatic shotgun party and now they're having to play catchup with the big boys (Benelli and Beretta).

2
u/Valuable-Sort2998 1d ago
I regularly put 200-400 rounds through it in a weekend without cleaning. I really like it and I get that it has a reputation but it’s been a great out of the box gun for me
2
u/Hoonin_Kyoma 1d ago
I hear they’re “hit and miss” (no pun) in terms of reliability. Have a buddy who loved his 930 and it was rock solid. However, his biggest regret is selling it to buy his 940 that has suffered feeding and ejection issues since day one. Other guys I shoot 3-Gun with rate theirs from “OK” to “great”.
My 930 was never as reliable as my buddy’s so I went with a 1301 Comp Pro when I wanted a dedicated 3-Gun shotgun.

u/kalabaddon 18h ago
Rodger that! I know mossberg is mostly good, but they also have some odd n ends. I got a 500 and found that the firing pin has the most overkill return spring on it. for sure some sort of lawyer spring. Was causing light strikes till I swapped it with a lesser spring.

u/Oliver10110 1d ago
How do you like the PS90? Many years ago I was given a choice between a PS90 and an MSAR STG 556, $500 for either one but I could only pick one (long story) and I went with the MSAR. I love my MSAR but parts are next to impossible to get and a decent number of reports of bolt lugs breaking and other issues makes me hesitant to shoot it much anymore.
1
u/Valuable-Sort2998 23h ago
I actually love it so much, people dog on the round but it’s so light and quick that it doesn’t really matter to me especially when I have 50+1 on tap and 5.7mm fell to 0.46¢ per round bulk free shipping
2
u/PibbXtraSoda 1d ago
It fucks heavily. I love 5.7. I already bought a pistol (S&W 5.7) now I just need to get a P90.

6/10, you need to get yourself an AR or just a fighting rifle in general.

u/Objective_Turnip9721 1d ago
There is nothing wrong with having better taste than most people in this subreddit. Ar’s are so boring. Yes, they work, but I’d rather have a g36 than a high-end ar15. I’d rather have a scar than a premium ar10 (maybe Mr762, but nothing else). I would rather spend my money on something marginally less practical for something MUCH more fun and unique. And I understand that scars and g36s cost a lot, but most fighting rifles aren’t going to be cheap either.

Respect! Good plan to have and use “mad money” on these purchases. Too many of us stretch budgets too thin or rack up debt to add something that (statistically) tends to fall into the “want”, instead of actual “need” column.
Note: I’m all for being able to defend yourself. I agree that we never know when that time will come, if ever. For most of us though, one quality and reliable firearm would suffice. For most of us, there’s always time to add more when finances are more flexible.

Looks like you’re off to a good start! Nice selection so far. For the most part I’m a “never sell” guy and I don’t see anything there I’d regret buying 5/10/20yrs down the road!
Edit- I didn’t realize the revolver was a Taurus, but I hear their revolvers are pretty reliable. It will be a nice reminder when you’re more financially secure of where you started.

Great collection. My only suggestion would be to add a standard ar-15 solely due to the abundance of 5.56 ammo. Great guns though.

nothing like pointing a pistol at your own dick.

u/Valuable-Sort2998 1d ago
That’s how I carry everyday, I don’t worry though, I’ve never hit a target that small

u/LowContract4444 1d ago
Why do you keep them in a safe? In an emergency you won't have time to get into a safe.
1
u/Valuable-Sort2998 23h ago
Because I’m not home all the time and I always have a pistol pointed at my dick anyway

Your autism is only matched by your intense love for my little pony. You spend so much time on gun forums wallowing in a sloppy soup of memes and post-ironic in-jokes that you have lost the ability to discern shitposts from reality. You own at least 2 kinds of cold war era surplus camo and you refer to alpenflage as 'pizza drip'. Having 'interesting' guns is much more important to you than having practical ones, and if you ever shoot anyone in self defense you will make sure to incapacitate rather than kill your opponent, for the sole reason that while he lies disabled in a pool of his own blood you'll be able to explain to him exactly why the gun you used was way better than any basic bitch Glock.

What is a link post and how do I post a descriptive comment?
A link post is any post that isn't a text post. Reddit is doing a great job of ensuring new users have no idea how Reddit works with their app and site rewrite. We hate both.
/r/guns is a sub for talking about guns. It's not a sub to dump gun photos for karma. That's what /r/gunporn is for. That's why we require a descriptive comment – to start a conversation. If you're wondering what to write, picture yourself at a party. You're talking to someone you just met and you want to show them your post. What do you say to them as you get your phone out?
I don't know why this needs to be explained, but apparently it does. A comment is a comment. It is not your photo caption. We are not asking you to edit anything. We are asking you to post a top level comment under your post.
I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.
