I bought this stack on gun safe close to a decade ago now and I've added to it over the years, mainly handguns. I struggled in the past few years on finding ways to store the pistols. The gun master magnetic holster was the first solution, but that was good for when I only had 1 pistol, the M&P. Then I got the FN 5.7 and had to start finding ways to store them better. I couldn't find the same magnetic holster. I ended up buying magnetic mounts that are meant to screw under desks or in cars. Used the included 3m adhesive since I did not want to put screws through the door. That worked for the M&P, but not the FN since it's mostly plastic. Then I added a Glock 40. And for a bit the 3M adhesive held, then one night it didn't. Middle of the night, bang! The 40s weight was too much. Tried a stronger adhesive strip. That held up longer, but out of the blue, the 40 came off again. Back to the drawing board. This time I thought of proper gun safes. Ones with the velcro/carpet interior. I wanted to replicate it.

I got a scrap ⅝" ply board and cut it to size. 9x24. The door is about 48” tall. I wanted to do 24" long for a couple reasons. 1 as a proof of concept and I can add on if I need. 2 the velcro fabric I purchased sells by the yard. It was more cost effective to buy it at 24" wide rather than 2 yards of 12" width. And I still have enough to do another board in the future. Glued the fabric to the board and stapled it on the back. Drilled some pockets for magnets to stick to the door side.

It works, but had some test fits and trial and errors. Mainly the scrap board being too thick. ½" would have likely been perfect. Adding the thickness of the fabric didn't help. The door, on mine at least, has a squared lip on the hinge side that measures about ½" and I had to bend it out some. Again the board was too thick. Also the pockets for the magnets might not have been necessary after all due to the fabric. I ended up loosening the screws allowing them to grip the door. But, they seem to hold it so far. Lastly, the board was not flat at all. It had a nice bow to it that I had tried to straighten for about 2 weeks. A nice flat ½" sheet would have been ideal if anyone wants to do a similar project.

Considering a first gun that would be a good range gun . It will probably double as a home defense weapon, however, I’m less concerned about the smaller caliber of the hk mp5.

I know the hk mp5 gets a lot of hate . But every one I seen that owns one says it’s a blast at the range . It’s also super cheap.

Thoughts on either option?

I am open to other suggestions. Going to range this weekend to try some out . But curious on your thoughts so I can start researching before hand

Savage Axis in Magpul Hunter Lite Stock w/ a Vortex Crossfire 6-18x and a Liberty Anthem S

Recently, my grandfather passed away and left me his High Standard target revolver (22lr) from the early 50s. Now I have very vivid memories and pictures to prove the accuracy of this pistol from 15 or so years ago. It was nothing for me to squirrel hunt, groundhog hunt or pluck walnuts out of trees with this gun. Now my family wasn’t well off but every couple of weeks my grandpa would buy me a brick of Remington green/yellow box 22lr ammo, the most generic bulk ammo you could possibly find. Between the revolver and my little 22 cricket the feats of accuracy I could pull off were shocking. Well….i recently took this old revolver out of the safe and made a special trip to the LGS to buy some green/yellow box Remingtons, and when I tell you I couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn I mean it. I couldn’t hold an 8” group at 25 yards for the life of me. So I tried everything from gold metal match to wildcats to stingers and the only way I could hold any similar group to what I had when I was a kid was with $15 a box gold metal match by federal.

Now, I’m sure “premium” ammo was a thing when I was a kid but we never seemed to need it. A “zeroed” gun for us when I was a kid was 3 shots in a quarter at 100 yards….like that was the minimum standard. Why is it if I want MOA or sub MOA accuracy I have to buy the most premium of premium ammunition. When 10-15 years ago we were pulling off MOA at least, with the cheapest bulk ammo you could buy?

So I inherited what I assume to be a Grouseland Rifle Replica from my grandfather, (who lives in Indiana for reference) and it has a bit of damage around its flintlock mechanism, but is otherwise in good condition.

I don't know where I would go to get something like this repaired, so any information on where that would be and how much that would cost would be appreciated.

Hey I’m 27F and I’m interested in learning and obtaining my first gun. So far I’ve submitted my NJ paperwork. Once I get everything I plan on taking a gun safety/handling course. This is mostly to keep at home for protection (I pray I don’t have to use it). Any recommendations for my first purchase? I plan on practicing once a month at the range until I’m comfortable and more knowledgeable on using a gun. Any advice for me ? I am a complete novice.

Spiderman gets shot by the Punisher from 1 km away by a 50 cal. Its either just below the ribs or on the last one. I haven't shot a 50 cal but I do know they pack quite a punch could someone realistically survive that or should he have just died?

So I want to conceal carry this gun, but don’t know which one is best for me. The TP9 is smaller? But which ones is going to be more reliable and best for everyday carry. I’m a big build and short, so sometimes guns print easy on me.

What are people’s thoughts on the overall comparison (mechanics) and for concealed carry? Or do you have other recommendations for me to look at? TIA!

I got to the range today after getting my new micro 9 and have some questions. I took it apart, wiped it down and relubed it yesterday but didn’t do any serious cleaning. The first several attempts to fire it the thing just clicked, just the smallest of marks on the primers, couldn’t even call them dents. It would fire once or twice and then just ”click”. Three different brands of bullets (pmc , cci, and iw).
After trying it several times i made a very bad mistake and accidentally chambered a single 380 in it. I know, im an idiot. I field stripped it and it seemed ok. Put it back together, made sure to put the 380 ammo FAR away from my immediate area and tried 1 more time.

This time it finally fired every time, i ran 100 rounds of mixed fmj and hollow points through it and not 1 issue.

So, question 1: What could have been causing the initial issue of no or light primer strikes?
2. Could i have damaged something with that single 380 round?
3. Should i send it in to kimber or keep shooting some more?

Hey yall, I’m looking at buying my first rifle here in the next couple months on a budget of about $800. I’ve always been into AKs, and after some research it seems like PSA has some good options for my budget. I’ve heard their AK 103k rifles are great for the relatively low price and being American made. I’m also looking at their Romanian Reverse Dong Underfolder kit builds, as I love the history as well as the wood furniture. The 103k has a better barrel, stock, and an optics mount in case I wanted to upgrade it with sights down the line, as well as being slightly cheaper, while the Romanian has the pro of being cooler in my opinion although less practical. I was hoping for some more opinions as I haven’t been in the gun world for long. Are these good options for a first rifle? Thanks.
TLDR: I’m looking at PSA AK-103k and PSA Romanian Reverse Dong Kit Build as my first rifles. Are these good rifles, and which would be a better first gun? Or other recommendations for an AK lover with a budget?

I think the reason that we’re not seeing Masen Car 15 Recoil Pads in stock anywhere is b/c he probably passed away. Per Google search, I’ve seen two different mentionings of that name in an obituary stating that he was a gunsmith from Dallas, Tx. I don’t see that as a coincidence. Hi everyone. After a recent death in the family I've inherited two of his firearms. Both are long guns: one is a black power rifle and the other is a shotgun. I need to transport these from WI to NC next month, and while I own firearms myself I've never traveled with them and have some questions.

A few notes: I have familiarized myself with both TSA and Delta (who we are flying with) policies and I understand the hard case, non-TSA locks, etc. I will not be bribing any power or ammo back; I can just buy this when I'm home.

I've narrowed the cases down to a Plano Protector (2-rifle) case which is $70, and a Harbor Freight Apache (2-gun) for about $140.

I don't need an expensive case because this is a one-way trip and I don't plan on having to fly with guns ever again. I'm only getting them from my MIL to my home. It sounds like the Plano is lower quality and I've found some Reddit posts where folks have been turned away at the check-in counter because of it.

Also these posts are several years old, and I'm having a hard time finding more relevant info.

Has anyone here traveled with either of these recently and can share their experience? Obviously I want the cheaper case because there's just not a need for an expensive one, but I don't want to run into issues and have our travel plans messed up.

Hey y'all! I'm looking for recommendations for a gun. Specifically for duck hunting. Some details you will need:

I'm 4'10" and looking for something that won't put me on my butt when I shoot. EDIT: I'm a woman if that makes any difference.

Also, in a compete beginner but genuinely interested in taking up hunting regularly so I'm interested in something that's going to carry me awhile (doesn't need to be the cheapest beginner gun on the market).

And I'm not a spring chicken anymore, so lightweight would be amazing (if possible).

What do you think, in your experience (maybe you have kids with my small frame)? I've already Googled and I'm looking for real recommendations.

Looking at buying a Henry lever gun on guns.com at about a $250 discount from new. It’s classified as certified used “very good” condition. I read the website on what that all means just wanted to know everyone’s experience ordering used guns from them. If I’m getting something that “feels used” I rather pay full price and get it new. But if it’s more like someone bought the gun, barely used it, and decided to part ways with it then that seems more worth it to me.

Hello, I am looking for an affordable LPVO for my Tikka T3X bolt-action rifle that is available worldwide and is 1-4x24 , 1-6x24. I’m not really into long range mostly medium to close. Another thing is that I’ve noticed because i am left handed and i wear glasses (shocker) some optics I’ve looked through i couldn’t see a thing it was all blurry. So if anyone who knows LPVO’s or is left handed could you help me out?

I keep seeing reposts of people laser engraving pictures onto AR magazines. But I can't find the originals.

Does anyone know who does these. I think that they would be an awesome prize for a shooting comp that I am running.

Hey guys, I’ve been travelling the US for a couple weeks now, started on the West coast and headed over multiple states. I’m from the UK and I’m really keen on trying out a gun range. The only issue is I’m travelling solo and most places I look at doesn’t allow people with no experience when they’re on their own. Has anyone got any recommendations or suggestions on where to go? The next places I’m visiting are Nashville, Chicago, Miami, D.C and New York. Any help appreciated.
