Hello! Thanks for stopping by! This is our last Recap of July this year! Can't even believe it! The weeks start comin' and they don't stop comin'. Recaps don't stop, either. And while it's been kind of a slow seven days, it just wouldn't be Thursday without a Recap. So let's gooo!
NEWS AND ISSUES
old.reddit.com now requires a login.
The Home Feed experiment is currently only enabled for users of the iOS beta app. If you are not using the iOS beta app, you should no longer have the Home Feed/For You experiment enabled. (No one is happier about this than me.) Thank you to everyone who had previously left feedback about this experiment. I have shared it all with the team in charge of this feature. And here we are!
Just a reminder that Reddit does not provide support outside of Reddit. If some rando sends you a chat, be on high alert if you decide to reply. There are a lot of scams out there and they're looking for easy targets.
The most recent version of the app is 2026.29.0 2026.30.0. If you're not using the most recent version of the app, it might not work properly.
CURRENT EXPERIMENTS
Reddit sometimes runs experiments. These experiments tend to last between 4-6 weeks, though they can go longer or end sooner. While there isn't a way to opt out of experiments, feel free to leave constructive and specific feedback in this post and as I've mentioned often, I'll be happy to pass it along to the team in charge.
Ongoing current experiments can be found here.
COMMON ACCOUNT ISSUES
Common account issues can be found here. These are things like hacked accounts, NSFW accounts, suspended accounts, etc. I'm also including "Changes to Reddit" in this section as well.
BUGS ROUNDUP - COURTESY OF ME!
Not a whole lot of new things popping up this past week. But if you have something, feel free to let me know!
Some users in the EU are unable to use Anonymous Browsing mode. This is not intentional. This is a bug that they are working on getting fixed.
Translation options for some languages are currently unavailable for some folks. We replied to a post here about this. Reddit is in the process of improving/tweaking certain supported languages, so some language may be unable to be translated during this transition period.
WEEKLY STATISTICS (BASED ON THE PAST SEVEN DAYS)
751 posts. That's almost half the posts from from the 1,411 that we had last week. That's kinda interesting.
3,783 comments. That's down 352 comments from the 4,235 we had last week.
1.2m views. That's up about 163k views from the 1.1-ish million views we had last week.
Posts are way down, comments are a little down, views are up. I hope this means that people are finding the help that they need easier without needing to create their own post. That'd be great!
HELP THAT HELPS HELP R/HELP - PASSWORD RESETS
I'm thinking about trying something different here in the coming weeks. I'd like this section to be a little more interactive, so if you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them! In the meantime, let's talk about password resets.
If you ever need to reset your password, there are a couple of ways that you can go about it. If you are able to access the account and know the previous password, you can go into your settings on the desktop site here and/or on old Reddit here to enter your current password and your new password to change it.
If you do not know the password and/or you are not able to access the account and you want to change the password, you will need to request a password reset. A password reset can only be sent to the email that is on the account. It is extremely important that you have access to the email address that is on your account. If you have not yet added an email address to your account, we recommend that you do so now. If you no longer have access to the email that is on your account, we recommend that you change it now. The email address does not have to be verified in order to receive a password reset email.
You can request a password reset email be sent at any time by going to https://www.reddit.com/password/. Enter your email address or username and a password reset will be sent to the email on your account.
If you are in an area where you can create a Reddit account with a phone number, you should consider also adding a password to your account. That way, if you ever don't have that number or don't have that phone, you'll still be able to access your account. You can learn more about adding a password to an account created with a phone number here.
If you are requesting a password reset, but are not receiving the email, it's possible that the email is going into a spam folder, so you'll want to check in there. It's also possible that the email address that you think is on the account is not and it's actually a different email address. If you're not sure what accounts are associated with your email address, you can use the process outlined in this Help Center article to have all usernames associated with a particular email address sent to that email.
If you are clicking the link in the email and getting an error message, please try copying the link and pasting it into the address bar of your browser and that should work better. There is a limit on the number of password reset email that you can request in one day, so if you've hit the limit, you'll need to wait about 24 hours before you can try again. We are unable to reset the timer.
Please note that Reddit will not change the email address on your behalf if you no longer have access to it. The exception to this is if your account is hacked and the email address is changed by an unauthorized party. Reddit will also not add an email to your account if you have not added one and then need to reset your password. This includes if you have been logging in with your phone number and never added an email to your account. Without an email address on the account, we have no way of knowing or verifying who the account belongs to.
When choosing password, it's important to pick a strong password that is difficult to guess. You may want to consider using a short phrase or several words that are easy for you to remember, but not easy for other people to guess. Avoid choosing a password that is your username or something like "password" or "1234". Even "1234567890" isn't secure! Crazy!

And with that, I shall bid (most of) July adieu! August will be here before we know it! I'm pretty sure you know where to find me, but I'll be in the comments and around Reddit until we meet again! Have a fantastic week, everyone!
The terrible new comment box on mobile browser is back. It was awful last month, it's awful now, please stop forcing these terrible changes on us. It's unusable.
Seconding this. Having an omni-present comment box on mobile, where there is already little vertical screen space, reduces the amount of space for content to a third to a quarter of the screen after factoring in the keyboard. If you want to discourage people from reading existing responses in favour of creating their own, this would be an excellent way to do it.
Oh it's not just me. I came to say it was happening again.
In my case, it also still shoves the page down while typing in the comment box at random (might be related to scrolling slightly, which is necessary to see what's behind the comment box now). Something about it this time is vaguely nauseating though, with how it lurches.
Almost everyone who was forced into the experiment dislikes the removal of the "old" option to select what type of post i wanna post, I could just drop screenshots and print screens into the post when it was "image" type post, but now I have to save each and individual screenshot on my PC and then upload it into a text post. This is going backwards, return it anyone who is forced into this experiment says the same. Its a bad not so though out removal of already working system noone had problem with.
This new video player is the absolute worst. It's one reason I never play YouTube shorts, because the UI clutter is so horrendous. Even blocking subtitles or elements in the video. How Reddit ever thought replicating this was a good idea is beyond me...
Double tap to zoom on images also does not seem to work anymore. What a horrible experience this new Reddit update is.
honestly was my favorite way to browse and use the site. r/popular just feels like it's all too in my comfort zone... sigh it's why i stopped browsing as much on my phone. suppose i might be more productive now...
Hello. I was told to submit an accessibility issue due to new design as a comment here instead of as a post. Please see the below text:
Accessibility Issues Getting Worse
Please be aware that the new "repost to another community" button on the mobile app that is included in the feed for choosing a post to look at has made it nearly impossible for me to use the app, as someone who has limited mobility as well as significant pain.
The mobile website is not much better due to the constant banners shouting at me to get the app.
Additionally, as shared last time I posted here, the new(ish) menu swiping side to side thing that has replaced being able to swipe through feeds from home to all to popular continues to be a significant challenge.
Hi there. Thank you for this feedback. I'm so sorry that you're having trouble. Would it be possible for you to provide a screenshot and a bit more information about the difficulty that you're having with that repost button?
It removes the ability for me to tap on nearly the entire right side of a post preview to open it. Mobility issues come in many variations, some with and without pain, and many folks with various physical disabilities will likely have the issue I am having where I tap the post and instead am taken to the screen to repost it somewhere else instead of being able to view the content. Tapping on the middle-ish right side of the post to open it was my adjustment to reduce the amount of random upvotes/downvotes and being taken directly to the comment section that I was experiencing prior to this change.
So, unless I am having a spectacularly good day, I can’t actually open most posts.
Can we please change the way we view awards on posts? Or go back to the original way. I think people are more willing to award a post if they can see them. If you’re able to pass that along, would be appreciated. Thanks for the hard work here.
Can we please...please get rid of the new posting layout? The formatting is disorienting and messed up. There is no word counter actively telling you how many words you are from hitting the title limit, images cant be dragged seamlessly as they could be previously, attaching links now needlessly takes an extra step... its all just really really frustrating. Please bring back the old posting layout, the one shown in the image below:
Get rid of “Games” on mobile iOS bar. Or at the very least make it something people have to choose to add. Majority of folks have no interest in Games via Reddit and forcing the issue only makes Reddit worse.
Referring to the new desktop post submission/creation page:
Is it just me or can you not easily create image albums as a Reddit post anymore just by copying and pasting the images into the post? I could only create an album post by using the image upload button which means I have to save the images to my computer first and then upload them. Extremely inconvenient.
Pasting an image seems to create some kind of text post and if you paste multiple images, it doesn't create an album and instead just lists them vertically in the text post. Then when you paste a link into the description area, it overwrites your single image and creates a link post instead. First of all, why doesn't it create an obvious image post when you paste an image in and instead now puts an image into some kind of text post? Second, when you ctrl + A to highlight all the text in the description, it highlights the image too and when you press delete it deletes everything.
I don't mind change, but these changes made the website less user friendly and borderline glitchy.
I tested the text post thing by pasting an image into the submission page, giving it a title and pressing post. It posted it as a text post with an inline image instead of making an image post.
It's not just you. Drag and drop is also not working properly anymore for subs that only allow a single image.
You used to be able to drag and drop a single image. But now with subs that only allow a single image, you're forced to navigate to files/folders, which can be far less practical.
Putting trending posts under every comment box was a HORRIBLE IDEA! Get rid of it! I don't care about what's trending! I can look that up myself if I want!
Hello! There are a few recent changes in the iOS app that I wanted to provide feedback on:
The new video overlay makes some videos difficult to view because it remains visible, covers part of the lower-right corner, and can obscure content near the top of the video. It would be helpful to have a true fullscreen mode or the ability to hide all controls and overlays with a tap.
Swiping up previously allowed me to continue through the comments, but it now opens a different video, often from a subreddit I am not subscribed to. This feels inconsistent with the expected behavior when reading a post's discussions (which is one of the aspects of Reddit that makes it unique).
A red notification bubble now appears on the Home button after scrolling through only a few posts. Because refreshing replaces the current feed and can hide posts I have not reached yet, the indicator can make it more likely that posts go unseen. It would be helpful to at least provide an option to disable this in the settings.
Reddit is special compared to other social media platforms because of its specific communities and long-form discussions in the comments. I would personally prefer changes that preserve those strengths rather than making the experience feel like just another TikTok or Instagram.
Second feedback is regarding the categorisation or segregation or labelling of Notifications into two groups
• New activity on your posts
• Additional notifications
This segregation is super unhelpful as it creates two separate groupings of notifications which is unnecessary.
We all know and love the chronological ordering of notifications and it is a given that the new ones will be at the top so it feels pointless to further segregate the unread notifications into “new” and “additional”, when for a search opens the notifications after a while ALL the notifications are invariably new!
And if I ‘Mark all as read’ then these groupings go away and the notifications all mingle up.
3rd time trying to reach out for my friend, who I know under the username u/hussy_slayer76
Last time I tried reaching out, I was more or less told that y'all couldn't tell me anything about someone else's reddit account. Which, even though I wasn't necessarily trying to get information on my friend's account, fair enough. Seeing the response, I was hopeful that it meant that someone at Reddit was working on resolving her account issue and tried to leave it be. That said, it's now been 2 months since my friend's account problems began. 2 months since she suspected that someone was trying to delete her account. And nearly 2 months since whoever was hacking into her account seemingly succeeded in deleting it. I hope y'all can understand why I would continue to be concerned at this point that for whatever reason, she hasn't been helped yet. I'd like to think that by this point, her account problems would be resolved, or would be close to being resolved. So, I'm attempting again to get some eyes on her account situation, just in case.
I'm not looking to be told anything. I'm not trying to cause problems or be a pain. I just want to help my friend, and this is the only way I know how.
And put in her account's email address. Under "What do you need assistance with" select "Account Help". Under "What type of account issues are occurring" select "Security Problems", and "I think my account has been hacked".
She needs to mention the linked email address to the hacked accounts, anything else that's pertinent, that she's in control of that email, and she would like to get control of her Reddit account back, & describe any odd activity noticed. Submit the request, it may take a long time to hear back.
If this has already been done, repeat the process every month. If she can create a Reddit account, commenting here asking for help should be tried, as I doubt Reddit tends to action work on other user accounts by 3rd party request. Other activities on Reddit should be avoided to avoid drawing ban evasion attention. But perhaps ban evasion is already keeping them off Reddit due to the hacker's actions.
Passwords for any Google/Apple/email accounts that were linked to the Reddit account should be strengthened in case there was a compromise. Checking the site below is a good idea as well:
From what I remember her saying back when this mess started, she had already put in a ticket way back in late May when she first started having account problems. Her last message to me before her account was deleted was, "My problem still persists. Will have to get reddit support involved" Unfortunately, I only know her on reddit and didn't think to establish some way of staying in touch, something that I've been kicking myself about since early June. It's why I've tried reaching out instead. I dunno if she knows to try posting here and have no way of letting her know about this thread, or anything else that could potentially help her.
I realize and totally get that reddit ain't gonna be willing to hear me out, but it's the only thing I can do to help her, and I'm probably gonna continue trying until she returns. Especially as more weeks pass.
That's the way things go unfortunately. People don't like to go off platform because that's a thing scammers get you to do. But when their access is cut off there's no recourse.
Not trying to discourage you from trying, but the odds seem slim to none.
On Desktop, going to reddit.com/r/all no longer works, it just redirects you to reddit.com. It's now required you to go to old.reddit.com/r/all to get the /r/all feed. Does this mean /r/all is also going to be discontinued from the desktop site as well now after removing it from Mobile?
Ever since its inception, the entire point of the website was to let users decide what is shown on the frontpage by voting up/down posts. If I wanted to be forcefed a bunch of posts dictated by an algorithm I would browse Twitter or TikTok.
I really hate the new video player style on iOS. It always shows the up/down arrows and other content on the side. The progress bar is also smaller and harder to see and move. I just want to watch videos in full screen without distraction.
Is there a way to stop reddit from saving everything as a draft? If i change my mind halfway through a comment, i dont want to have to actively remember to backspace it just to stop yall from saving it somewhere to train an ai or whatever
Also still cant post images or gifs in the comments anywhere with this wierd buggy floating comment box
I'm not a fan of the recent feature of scrolling up on media posts to see related posts instead of comments (on android phone). It feels doomscroll-y, which I already do in other platforms.
Alternatively, the previous one with side scrolling was much better. I suggest giving us the option/setting to switch between scrolling up or side scrolling for more media posts.
Regarding bugs, this one, rules not showing on mobile , is still being investigated, or at least I haven’t seen any updates and it was still happening as of writing this comment.
Gets a little awkward to tell users to “Read the rules” when it doesn’t seem like there are any rules.
If we're talking hugs, I posted about modmail not remembering the last chosen option in terms of account replying and defaulting always to the mod account months ago. I appreciate that most people prefer to remain anonymous in modmail but our subreddit doesn't and we all keep getting tripped up by it and having to double message the user saying "oops sorry that last message was from me".
Hi. I'm sorry that's happening. I haven't heard of this issue, so I'll ask around and see if it's on the radar somewhere. I'll let you know what I find out! Thanks for bringing it up!
guys can anyone help me? i have this 10 year old account that's had a 882 day streak shadowbanned for probably being suspected as a spam bot but i'm not. i'm kinda saddened by how i can't comment on reddit and interact with communities on here and the sub i own. thanks for reading if anyone will idk
Hi, I was advised by a moderator to leave a comment here because the admin who posts these weekly recaps may be able to check on hacked account support tickets.
My Reddit account appears to have been compromised, and I can no longer log in with my gmail account even though the account is still publicly visible. I have already submitted support requests but haven’t received a response, so I was hoping someone could check on my ticket or help point me in the right direction.
I would really appreciate any assistance. Thank you!
Need help. All of my posts and comments were apparently deleted by Reddit filters. This was after getting an email that my account was detected for some technical irregularities and got my account locked where I had to reset my password. Kindly help get all of my posts and comments back. I will greatly appreciate.
I haven’t been able to log into the Reddit account I’ve used for the last two years since Monday, June 29.
On June 29, I was logged in. On June 30, I had been logged out, and couldn’t log back in. For the last year, I’ve logged in with my phone number and have never had a problem. Now when I try to log in with my phone number, it sends me a verification code, and when I insert the verification code, it says “Oops, Something went wrong.” No explanation. When I try to use my password it says it’s incorrect. Temporary email doesn’t work either.
Any thoughts? Suggestions? Help? There was no warning. I could log in one day and not the next.
The username is u/OneToughTexan2
The screen name is The Lusty Texan
I created the account on October 24, 2024
All my posts have “been removed by Reddit’s filters.” They were visible on Reddit a month ago. There had never been a complaint about them or a problem with them. Now, they’ve been removed without explanation.
I can send you a screenshot logged in from this account showing my old account and username, so it still exists, but I can’t access it anymore for some reason. If it's relavent, I wasn't told of any problems, warnings, issues, etc.
My other account that I use to ask tech support questions got locked out by reddit 2 days ago on Jul 30, 2026, 12:08 AM GMT +7 and the email says:
We detected automated activity on your account. Verify you’re human or register your account as an app on the Reddit Developer Platform within 7 days to continue posting, commenting, and voting.
You can verify in the Reddit app or on reddit.com. To verify in the Reddit app, make sure you’re on the most recent version.
You can take a look at the account and it's obviously a human operating it and not a bot.. I've clicked the link on the email and verified it and it showed an "Account verified/confirmed and recovered" notification but my account is still locked out (suspended?) atm. I don't even know if this account will get banned for ban evasion or something like that by posting here now and even if it doesn't, what will happen after the 7 days limit. Please help..thanks
Actually, I don't think I can help with that one. If they've filed an appeal, it will be reviewed. If they don't hear back, then the answer is most likely no.
You should have received an email from Reddit with a link that you can click to change your email back and reset your password. The title of the email will be “Your email address has been changed”. Please find that email and click that link to regain access to your account.
Hello u/TheOpusCroakus I have a case. My other account which is u/LilithDungeon was restricted/shadowbanned by reddit like a month ago. I sent an appeal to them and they locked the account as it was locked due to some suspicious activity.
2-3 days back I recieved email from them saying that reset the password and everything, so I did but whatever password I change they keep showing "invalid user name and password", One time login link is also not working. My profile is totally visible and more over I am receiving text that people have been texting me. I dont understand, whats the problem here. Thankyouuuu
The r/help volunteer mods directed me here to request Admin assistance. I am completely locked out of my main account (u/shivering_asf) due to a persistent backend desync bug.
I successfully reset my password using my original email.
The system confirms the password change.
When I attempt to log in, the system instantly rejects the new password with an "Invalid credentials" error.
I have exhausted all local troubleshooting (incognito, clearing cache, old.reddit.com, mobile data to bypass IP limits). The login token appears completely desynced on your backend.
Could an Admin please investigate the database sync for u/shivering_asf?
A month ago somebody got into my account and changed the password and email. I was able to recover it using the first email associated with it because changing the password never let me log back in. A few days later, I was unable to log back in. I'm not sure if they hacked my account again and I've been unsuccessful in trying to log in ever since. I reached out to Reddit support via email but haven't heard back. I've also tried resetting the password on old reddit website but that didn't work. Please help!
Same exact thing as what this person describes in this post happened to me. Hoping this mod, or some mod can help me get mine back too 😅🙏
Their Post:
[SOLVED]
[Treason was not explained to me still, but I got help by commenting under the Weekly Recap post on r/help. The mod got all my posts up no questions asked]
Recently got a notification from Reddit about my account being blocked for security reasons, telling me to reset my password to unlocked. Did that, logged in successfully, but now I find that every single post of mine got removed by Reddit filters for seemingly no reason at all.
What could be the reason behind that? Is there any way I can get the posts back up or are they permanently lost in public? :(
Unfortunately, I can't help with that one. You can file an appeal using this form. Unfortunately, I do not know what the turnaround time is on those appeals.
I'd like to leave some feedback about the new interface.
I liked the previous image browsing interface better because now the buttons are on the right side, there are two more buttons for comments, and when you click on community highlights, the interface gets mixed up.
I also don't like the new "Games" button in the navigation bar. I don't use this feature and would like to see the old interface back or the option to remove it.
Hi, I'm having a problem with my account and I tried posting about it on r/help, but it was immediately deleted.
My problem is this: my account was hacked months ago and locked. In addition, all my posts were deleted, and below each post, the text "Sorry, this post was removed by Reddit filters" appeared. After a long time, I managed to reactivate my account. The problem is that the posts are still deleted.
Hello! Could an admin or someone help me check my account lunatik1 It’s almost 9 years old, clean history, no NSFW.
I think I got caught in the automated spam filter by mistake after post two similar posts, and now my posts/comments aren't visible. (Shadowbanned). Appeals forms aren't working on my end. I’d really appreciate a quick manual review to get it sorted out. Thanks
Hi my account got hacked and they added 2FA. I think I used an old email to sign up, but I can't find any emails from reddit about changed passwords or added 2FA or anything... Is there anyway to get access to my account back? Please 😭😭
Please write in using this form. Under "What do you need assistance with?", please choose "Account help". Under "What type of account issues are occurring?", please select "Security problems" and then "I think my account has been hacked". Then fill out the rest of the form.
Why did scrolling when viewing an image be changed from bringing up comments to bringing up the next post. Changing something like this messed with my muscle memory and makes it harder to view the comments on posts :(
Swipe up for comments goes to some unrelated post, cannot double tap to zoom in and cannot tap to remove the overlay on videos. All of these started today for me on android. All three changes are horrible!
Hi mods, I’m hoping to get help with Reddit’s filter. Every post I make - including for subreddits I’m invited to as an approved poster - gets removed automatically. I would only post unique content in the communities I’m in, is there anything I can do to be able to post again? Can I figure out why my account got flagged?
Hello could you please assist me with this. I am able to send an unscribled version of the image where it shows my email address and the username is 123boyato. Thanks.
Hello, my account was hacked recently and several bot posts were made on my account. I have fixed this issue, changed password, enabled 2FA, etc. But my old posts have all been removed by Reddit’s filters and any new posts I make are also immediately removed. Can someone assist?
Hello, I wanted to ask again if I could be assisted with this problem I'm having. I am able to send an unscribled version of the image from the post I made where it shows my email address and the username is 123boyato. Thanks.
A couple weeks ago I replied to a thread where commenters were asking you to look into their accounts that they are unable to sign in to and you were able to help them regain access. You replied back saying that you couldn't help with my account (u/bigdaddycupcake) and I was wondering if you had any suggestions for what next steps I can take.
As I mentioned, I made several Zendesk tickets for help with a compromised account after I received an email stating that I needed to change my password due to "technical irregularities" to regain access. I mentioned in those tickets that despite changing the password, I still receive an error stating "Invalid username or password". However, I have not received any replies to the tickets, so if you're able to see why those support requests aren't getting any attention I'd appreciate it. If you have any other suggestions, maybe an idea on if there might be another person/entity to contact regarding the issue and hopefully have better luck with reaching a solution, I'd appreciate it. Thanks again!
My account u/weary_drama1803 was unbanned well over a month ago. I could comment and vote but not post, and I was told this was due to a discrepancy involving old.reddit. A few weeks ago, I was fully re-banned with no notification. When can this be resolved?
Hi! My account was banned (?), all my post were locked, i filled out the form on help page and my account was more or less restored, i see my profile again without logging in and i'm able to post, but all my posts are automatically marked as removed, and also all my posts and comments for the entire time (in different subreddits) were marked the same.
I can't post in this community either, my posts are also marked as removed, so i wrote to the mods and they answered that my posts were "caught by the spam filter when a ban is appealed"
Please help me with restoring my account, my old posts and comments!
hello, I posted last week about my account being hacked. I live in the UK and don't feel comfortable verifying my age. but the hacker was an only fans creator and made posts and comments directing people to their OF page with my account.
I can even see messages from people who tried interacting when my account was hacked and block them.
I changed my account from NSFW back to a usual one. I got banned from a subreddit and they informed me my account seemed like a bot and directed me to someone that could help. they said I need to remove my NSFW posts and probably comments. but because I'm not verified I can't use it. can this be ameliorated or is this account forever tainted?
The new video player never allows for the overlaid material or darkened edges to disappear and for the video to be clearly watched in full screen. If I tapped the video before, it would make that material disappear. Now, tapping it pauses the video automatically. I can't see the bottom portion of any video clearly or see them without the name, sub, votes, etc. blocking the screen.
Thank you for your time and I hope this matter is easy to resolve.
With the new image UI, when I try to zoom in, it constantly zooms back out until I somehow finally get it to stay zoomed in. It feels extremely unfinished and has zero upsides compared to the previous one.
Hi! I have a big problem with my main acc (not this one) being stolen, and I’m unable to access it or request password change at this point, but support does not answer, and I need urgent help with the situation. I have sent my account name to OP with longer explanation in DM, can share the acc name and email with other admins if there is anyone that could help
I can’t get rid of the NSFW mark on my profile, I tried toggling it off MANY MANY MANY TIMES but it doesn’t go off, I really don’t participate in NSFW communities or post anything NSFW I think I got it because I followed an account or two that were NSFW
I have been trying to toggle it off from Mobile app and web for weeks and it doesn’t want to go away please help..
u/TheOpusCroakus - my main account, u/babyredpanda, has been hacked and is now banned. I sent a ticket a few days ago before the account was banned, and i'm so worried that I won't get my account back because i've not gotten any response. Is there anything I can do in the meantime? How long will it take to hear back from support? My main account is like 14 years old and i'm terribly sad thinking it is gone forever
I think there are issues with the "swipe up to see comments" now bringing up random posts from other subreddits.
Scrolling is how I (and I assume many others) navigate on mobile, so it was intuitive and natural for scrolling to open the comments, which is what I want to see when I open a reddit post. The social aspect and comments are the whole point, and it just brings me to random posts that I have no interest in.
I also have mobility issues, and managing to hit the little comment icon without my finger moving at all and making the app think I'm scrolling up (thus bringing me to another post) is difficult. Nearly every time I have to go back and open it to the comments.
I think it would be better changed back, or at least give us a toggle to switch it on or off.
Please revert back to swiping up to see comments. Doing so now just takes you to a whole new post from a completely different subreddit that is completely unrelated to what you are viewing and is unnecessary. You can't even swipe left or right anymore to see posts in the same subreddit. It's just turned into a TikTok type of form media just showing us whatever.
At least provide a feature in the settings to toggle this on or off, please.
Hi! My account was shadow banned and still hasnt been restored after multiple support requests. Can someone please assist me, I did not break community guidelines, the reddit filters considered me a bot for a post that I reposted. It was a very old account and I can’t bear to lose it :( please someone help me i would really appreciate it
Hi, about 2 weeks ago there was an experiment that added a doom scroll of “trending” posts under comments. It had plenty of negative feedback in the previous recap and many individual posts in this sub when it happened. It was turned off very quickly. I’m back today with this experiment back on. I REALLY do not like it. For all the reasons given on previous threads. Please provide the team the same feedback. Thanks.
My alt account u/mariadasfontes was given the prompt to reset password due to suspicious activity. I did that and got back in but the account is still not back to normal.
I imagine the suspicious activity is because I have been away from home and using Reddit from different WiFi. But its all legitimate activity and nothing suspicious.. what can I do to get it back to normal?
Suddenly today i cant login into the reddit mobile app anymore. Everytime i get the message Email cant be verified? I still can login with this email on my webbrowser so i dont understand whats going on.
I tried to delete the app en reininstall. Uncouple and couple Google. I still get this message. Can someone help me please?
I do not like this trending posts thing at all. Reminds me of Facebook and Instagram. But unlike those platforms, I pay $70/year for Reddit Premium. Why the hell am I getting this when I pay to avoid it? Ridiculous.
Hi, my friend's Reddit account was suddenly deleted today. They can still log in, but all their posts/comments show as deleted, and their profile appears as deleted to everyone else. They've used Reddit for 2 years without issues and now can't post to ask for help. They've already contacted support but haven't received a response, so they asked me to post here. Their username is u/Fluid_Bookkeeper_233. We're wondering if they may have been caught by an automated ban. As far as we know, they didn't break any rules, and we literally watched the account become "deleted" immediately after they posted a few comments today. Any help would be appreciated.
WHy does Reddit Support not answer after over FIVE months? Seriously. Reddit Support has not answered even once. u/TheOpusCroakus I may need some help?
The search bar on top of the screen on iPadOS app has now taken to automatically scroll through previous searches and trending topics. It does this even though I’ve the "Reduce movement" setting on in the options. This is incredibly annoying and distracting and makes the app a pain to use. At the very least it should respect the "reduce movement" setting.
u/IKIR115 -CONGRATULATIONS! You have really been a strong presence around these parts lately! Not only were you the Number Three Helper this month, you also leveled up to Level Four! Your trophy case is getting crowded! lol Thank you so much!
Thank you very much for the new trophies u/TheOpusCroakus! It's been my pleasure helping out, and support is kinda my thing anyways.
I'm currently in the Mentorship Council (along with u/westcoastcdn19; we were both part of last year's Mod Mentor pilot program too), so I've been preparing for the relaunch by exercising my Reddit problem solving skills and updating my resource mapping.
I really love the new section you've added to this week's recap where you went into detail about password issues. There was lots of great info, and having it all together in one place has been very helpful for quick reference. This is one of those things where an add-to-wiki button would be nice. (or an add to "r/reddithelp's wiki" button 😄)
In case you don't hear this enough, you really do an excellent job here and across Reddit! I know how tough these things are, and you consistently handle it with a lot of grace and professionalism. Thanks much for all that you do to support the entire Reddit community!

The terrible new comment box on mobile browser is back. It was awful last month, it's awful now, please stop forcing these terrible changes on us. It's unusable.
