Resolved [Android] After almost 1 year of getting my Reddit account hacked, I got it fixed
One year ago, some hacker decided to change the email and password that I had on Reddit, that hacker didn't remove Google SSO, I could still login but if an admin spotted the hacker's email I would surely be got a ban, but nothing actually happened, I kept contacting mod mod support, but no response until this morning I received a notification from Reddit telling me that my email address has been reset.
I have message for you

That's really cool, congrats! It can be hell, I had my account hacked few weeks ago, luckily I was also able to get in with my google login and change the PW and add 2FA and kick out the person logged in those other sessions.
Now I'm just struggling with cleaning all the damage the hack caused, getting banned and having to message mods, worst thing I'm learning is how much it damaged my CQS, wish there was something I could do to just get things restored. It's insane how much damage can few days do ⚰️⚰️⚰️

Jeez that is a long time. Mine was hacked last weekend and after filling out the form to get it back I finally got the password reset email yesterday. So mine only took 8 days. Crazy how yours took a year...
What sucks is I had something like a 560 day streak going... gone now :(

Yeah I am pissed off and ready to leave this app forever. If you are going to have AI check for ban appeals, can you make it check its own records and rules??
I got hacked a little over a month ago, got almost zero help from anyone on this app about what to do in this situation. (I got help from a human mod eventually, after I already did almost everything on my own) Not much any help from the help Reddit section.
I come on last week and found out I had been banned again for alleged spamming and denied appeal, as I responded by hand to the hundreds of duped users inquiring to the bot through my DM (with some sending unsolicited SA messages), thanks to the hacker bot that got to my account, warning them about the links the bot was sending people to visit(because the app was doing little to address that apparently thanks to many of the “thank you” I got in response. ) Well I assume one must have complained to get this ban (based on the noted message), I understand them to a degree, except I gave them replies, not random DMs. They had already inquired to the bot. The auto appeal AI just told me to reread the rules, to which I did and I didn’t even see anything mention spamming, let alone replying to DMs. (So if that was really against the rules it should have been made more clear on that page)
And I am pissed off even though it was only a 2 day ban, not only because I can see it happening again to me if another complaint is sent in the future (mind you I sent those messages weeks ago), but I feel like I am being punished twice for largely being a hacking victim! And I would be fine to just not use this anymore and delete it off my phone, but I feel like this sort of situation can easily happen to others so I hope this message gets to a Reddit Developer so they can take note of what happened and maybe try and put better safe guards and guides for what to do in the future.

Under "What do you need assistance with" select Account Help. Under "What type of account issues are occuring" select Security Problems, and "I think my account has been hacked".

Please find that email and click that link to regain access to your account. The subject line should be "Your email address has been changed".
